Synopsis
This is the story of a man who was once a normal being. He had a generally pleasant life, he had nothing to complain about. And naturally, his end came. He was still young when it happened, but he wasn't depressed about it, he didn't care, he was fine with it. Anyway, it didn't matter much in the state he was in. That was until he suddenly found himself in an unknown place. At first, he thought he might have been dreaming, but then he dismissed it, he should be in a familiar place if that were the case. Then he realized he had transmigrated. He didn't like that, he believed it was better to be at peace or, at least, he thought so until he received a rather pleasant “gift” …

Chapter 1 - The Beginning

In an ordinary world, there was a person named Leo.

He was an ordinary person with few hobbies other than taking care of himself and his family.

He had pleasant friends, a family that treated him well and always supported him, and even a partner and a stable life.

Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with cancer during a medical checkup. He was only 20 at the time.

At first, he was depressed by this news, but he eventually accepted it. There wasn't much he could have done about it anyway; he didn't have the money to do much.

I am currently in the hospital, waiting for it all to end because, apparently, today is my last day of life.

I would have liked to live longer, but that's how things go. I don't have anything to complain about, either; I have lived quite well so far.

My parents passed away some time ago; they were relatively old when they had me, so they were already on their last leg.

"It's a shame I couldn't say goodbye to them. If there really is something after death, then I would like to be able to see them there"

After that thought, everything just faded away. Well, that's how it felt to me.

I suddenly found myself in immense darkness. Well, I probably just didn't have eyes to see anything or a body to feel...

In any case, I felt very relaxed. Maybe it was what people often describe as "flying." I didn't know, but I didn't care either.

I like sleeping, and this felt similar, so I had nothing to complain about.

Then, I felt like my consciousness was slowly drifting off.

"Is this what they call eternal rest? It makes a lot of sense, but I probably won't 'wake up' if it comes to this... It's a shame; I would prefer to just stay like this, but well, I would probably go crazy, maybe? I'm not sure; this state is too liberating to know"

And then I completely lost consciousness.

Suddenly, I felt my surroundings again.

"Don't tell me I just revived or something"

I didn't even question whether I was hallucinating before. After all, I was quite sure that I had truly died. Either way, I would find out by looking at my surroundings.

And just as I thought, I found myself in a completely different place.

I was in a rather standard room, the kind you live in when your parents kick you out of the house. Well, I only heard about those since my parents didn't do that, but it felt like that.

I was lying on a common bed next to a window. I took a look around and realized that I probably lived in an apartment.

In short, I lived like an average person.

I saw a phone on a dresser next to the bed, so I picked it up to inspect my appearance, since I didn't see any mirrors in the room.

I turned on the phone and opened the camera app, only to discover a disappointing reality.

"Damn, I just transmigrated into an ordinary guy, in an ordinary apartment, with ordinary economic power"

I was frustrated enough to say it out loud, although that wasn't really what bothered me. It was the fact that I didn't want another life.

"Well, it doesn't matter. As long as it's a normal world, I can use my knowledge as a computer engineer and hopefully have a stable life"

As if reality wanted to slap me in the face, my head buzzed, flooding me with memories of a 15-year-old boy named Leo Ruiz.

Coincidentally, we shared names, but that wasn't important here. Apparently, he was in a world similar to those in novels, where the MCs are called Lukas Morginstar and Ken Rover, respectively. I think I messed up the names a bit, but it doesn't matter; the point is that the world is similar.

A world where Mana exists, there's an Academy that's fundamental for nurturing talents (although, considering the number of events that will take place there, it seems more like a slaughterhouse), and presumably, there's a Demon King with malicious intentions roaming around.

On top of all that, according to my memories, I had a grandfather who held a high rank in the global protection organization... Yes, that's really his name; the one who created it was terrible with names, right? Well, the point is that he died on the battlefield thanks to the demons; he was wealthy, so he hid all his riches, leaving only a will that stipulated I would be given the opportunity to enroll in the most prestigious Academy, the Academy of Talents (what a name), and if I passed, everything would be paid for until I graduated.

Anyway.

What does this mean? Obviously, it means I've been dead from the start because it's unlikely that I have a heaven-defying talent and can single-handedly bring down the cataclysm, considering that the Academy will be continuously under attack. It's not realistic.

"Okay, I'm definitely not willing to live in a world like that. I'm not like those MCs who somehow find the will to train like crazy or face death. First, I had a good life; I have no reason to live again in a life I won't enjoy."

"Unless they give me the long-awaited transmigrator's cheat"

To achieve something in this world, I had to risk my life, and I wasn't willing to do that. I didn't want to suffer. I was well aware of what happens, for example, to soldiers after wars; I didn't want to end up the same way.

So, I would only accept this life if I had something good, something that wouldn't require me to take too many risks. Something like an Inactive System. Sleep and increase my power while doing it, sounds great to me.

"Well, I guess I'll wait for something to happen. There are still three months left until the Academy's enrollment, so I can relax for a while"

As if responding to my thoughts, a beep sounded, followed by a text box appearing in my vision.

[Initializing the Omnipotent System...]

[Omnipotent System successfully initiated.]

"Oh well, that sounds like it can solve my problems"
