It was sunset in the city and Parish was walking leisurely. Fiona had been in that large crowd and had seen everything. The fact that she was now his mentor made him a bit suspicious of her. It didn't seem coincidental. Was Elena behind this? It seemed likely. Parish didn't want to conclude easily. He had spent so much time here that he had forgotten what had been his mission from the start—to find Mike. Mike was supposed to be in the city by now. It was the only inhabited place in the wilderness. Parish was grateful to Hazog for showing him the city. He owed him that at least for sparing his life.
