"What is going on here?" Came the question from the headmistress. The guys who were holding Parish released him on hearing her voice while their apologetic gazes turned to a stoic Kael for explanation.
"What a pleasant surprise to have you here mother," Kael said with his arms slightly open, not acting an ounce scared.
"What do you think you are doing?" She asked, her tone sharp but low. Her eyes scanned everyone in the room but none had the courage to meet with her gaze except her son.
"Securing what is rightfully mine," Kael answered as if killing Parish was an obligation and not a crime.
"And what is rightfully yours?" His mother asked taking a step forward. Earlier, she had this gnawing feeling that her son would find out who the boy was and would try something stupid. And she was right! Had she delayed a second late…
"Should I answer that, Mother? You already know the answer I bet."
