Chapter 17 - DRINKS

Now, it's time to make their life a bit more difficult. This warehouse looks too old. What will happen if it suddenly breaks down on them? Well, only one way to find out.

I touched the wall of that warehouse. The ones discussing their plan and plots, unaware of my presence or the danger approaching them.

As I pressed my hand against the wall of the warehouse, I focused my gravity manipulation powers on weakening its structure. The old and worn-out building was the perfect target for my plan to create chaos and instill fear in the hearts of those inside.

I concentrated, gradually increasing the gravitational force acting on the warehouse, straining the already weakened beams and supports. Cracks formed along the walls, and the floor began to tremble beneath their feet.

Inside the warehouse, the men were engrossed in their discussion, completely oblivious to the impending danger. Their voices grew louder as they debated their next moves, their confidence bolstered by their illicit activities and the belief that they were untouchable.

Suddenly, the ground beneath them shook violently, causing them to stumble and lose their balance. Panic filled the air as the walls creaked and groaned under the strain, threatening to collapse at any moment.

"What the fuck is happening?!" the ringleader shouted, his voice tinged with fear.

The others scrambled, trying to find stability amidst the chaos. They clung to nearby structures, desperately searching for an escape route.

"Boss, I told you to fix this place, you cheap stake fuck," Gim yelled.

"I ain't cheap, you dumb fuck! This place was fine till now!" the ringleader yelled back, his voice laced with panic.

The warehouse continued to shake, cracks spreading along the walls and ceiling. Dust and debris fell from above, adding to the chaos and confusion.

Realizing the imminent danger, the men began to panic, desperately searching for an exit. They pushed and shoved, their fear overriding any sense of camaraderie or loyalty. But only if it was that easy.

I pressured the doors to shut, cutting their exits.

"The doors are closing, run!" Gim screamed, pushing past his boss and rushing towards the exit.

The men rushed toward the exit in a frenzy, each desperate to be the first to reach it. The sound of smashing glass and slamming doors filled the air as the men pushed and shoved, trying to escape the crumbling structure.

"Hurry!" one shouted.

"Move faster!" another yelled.

"There is no way out!" Gim screamed, running in circles.

I directed my powers to focus on one of the support beams, allowing it to give way. With a loud snap, the beam gave in, causing part of the roof to collapse and fill the warehouse with debris.

The men screamed in terror as the structure began to crumble. They rushed towards the exit, trying to get out, but there was no exit. They were trapped.

I pulled my hand away from the wall, a smile forming on my lips as I watched them scramble like a pack of rats trapped in a burning building. I took a few steps back, admiring my handiwork.

"It must be some kind of ghost, boss," One yelled.

"Who did you pick a fight with again, boss!" Another shouted.

"Fuck that! The warehouse is collapsing," The ringleader yelled in a panic.

"It's your fault!" Gim shouted.

They started to yell at each other, fighting to assign blame for the situation.

The building shook more and more violently as the roof crumbled, sending more debris falling towards the ground below. The walls creaked and cracked, causing the building to tilt sideways.

"Arggg! My leg," someone screamed in pain.

"Boss, we are trapped!" someone else yelled.

"What the fuck did you do to this place? Let me out of here!" Gim yelled, hitting the wall of the warehouse.

"We are all gonna die!" the others screamed in unison.

The ground began to shake more and more violently, as if an earthquake had suddenly struck the area. The men fell and screamed in pain as the ground beneath them split open, creating a deep hole in the warehouse.

"Whoever you are, please let me go. I will do anything, just let me live!" The leader screamed.

"We ain't done nothing to you!" Gim yelled.

The warehouse finally collapsed, burying the men beneath it.

I stood there, staring at the now-destroyed warehouse and the bodies beneath it. I felt no remorse for the deaths I had caused. They deserved it. But I also felt a sense of satisfaction, knowing that justice had been served.

I looked around the area, ensuring there were no witnesses or anyone who could link me to the destruction. Then I turned and walked away, disappearing into the darkness of the night. On the way, I saw police cars rushing toward the docks, their sirens blaring.

That was too close. I have to be more careful from now on.

I decided to stop at a nearby bar for a drink. It was already past midnight, and I wanted to celebrate my victory. I found a nice quiet spot in the corner of the bar and sat down, ordering a glass of whiskey.

Damn! I just killed someone and who knows how many died in that warehouse. Shit! I killed someone!

I stared at the glass of whiskey in my hand, my thoughts racing. Yeah, it's alright. It was for the good of society. Besides, they were criminals. What did they expect? I was just doing what needed to be done. The police or the heroes did nothing. So, it was only natural for me to act. I wasn't going to sit back and watch while people were being oppressed and exploited.

But I still feel guilty. I killed someone.

I took a sip of my whiskey, trying to drown my guilt. I shouldn't feel bad. After all, I did what had to be done. There was no turning back now. I knew what I had to do.

I sighed, taking another sip of my drink. It was for Julia and Sam and everyone who they had killed and ruined lives. And now, I have to make sure this doesn't happen again.

I am no hero. I never wanted to become a hero, not even for a moment after knowing I am reborn in this Marvel Universe. However, I don't think I can live with myself if I do nothing and continue to sit idly.

I ordered another glass of whiskey. I knew that I would probably regret the morning, but I didn't care. I took a sip, feeling the warm liquid going down my throat and spreading through my body.

The more I drink, the more I feel like I can actually accomplish something. My hands weren't shaking anymore. I no longer felt guilty, knowing that I was doing the right thing.

The heroes can deal with their big threats, the police, and deal with their petty cases and bribery. But I will deal with the people who escape through the gap in the system.

I sat at the bar and drank for a while, watching the world outside the window. It was quiet- I felt a hand on my shoulder.

"Sir, I am sorry, but we are closing now," the bartender said.

"Well, thanks for the drink," I replied, downing the rest of my glass.

I paid the bartender and stood up, taking my jacket from the chair. I glanced outside the window one last time, looking at the night sky. I sighed and walked away. But I stumbled, my legs feeling numb.

The bartender rushed toward me. "Are you okay, sir?"

I nodded slowly. "Yeah, I am fine. Well, good night."

I walked out of the bar, feeling slightly drunk. My head was spinning and my thoughts were a blur. I was more drunk than I realized.

I put on my jacket and walked out into the night air, stumbling slightly. I had no idea where I was going, but I knew I had to get home. I looked up at the sky, admiring the stars shining down on me.

It was a beautiful night. I felt happy and free, knowing I had a purpose in life.

I don't know how far I had gone, but suddenly, I found myself in an alleyway. There was a dumpster and a few trash cans nearby, and the ground was covered in garbage.

I heard footsteps behind me, so I turned around to see a man standing there. He was holding a knife in his hand.

"Yo, man, why don't you give me all your money, huh?" he said, holding out his hand.

He looked pretty drunk himself, probably on some kind of drug. His face was sweaty, and his eyes were bloodshot.

"And who are you? Is this some kind of mugging or are you trying to rob me?" I asked, slowly stepping away from him.

"You drunk fuck, I am robbing you. So, be a good boy and empty your pockets," he said, taking a step towards me.

"No, I was just curious about your weird mugging pattern," I said, taking another step back.

"Don't play hard to get. Just give me all your money," he said, raising his voice.

"What are you gonna do if I say, NO?" I asked.

"Look at this, you see this? Do you know what this is?" he asked, waving his knife in front of me. "This is a knife. So, give me all your money, and don't make me use it."

I smiled at him. "You are going to kill me? You are going to cut me? Is that what you are planning to do?"

"I don't have time for your shits," He lunged at me with his knife, trying to stab me.

As I was about to use my gravity power, a spinning shield appeared out of nowhere, slamming on his stomach and the shield then zoomed past me.

"Wow! That's some aim..." I started to clap my hands slowly.

I turned around and saw Peggy standing behind me, holding her shield in her hand.

"Oh, hey, Captain. Thank you for saving my ass. I was about to get robbed and all that," I said, clapping my hands a bit louder.

"I told you to stop drinking and look at you. You are still drunk," she said.

"And look at you, still a perfect soldier. Always so focused on duty that you forgot about me," I said.

"Well, it's good that you are still able to banter even when you are drunk," she said, ignoring my words. "Come on, let's get you home. It's not safe to walk around here alone at night."

"Oh, you are helping me? I thought we broke up. You left me hanging on our date that day. I am so very angry with you," I said, following Peggy through the streets.

"You are so drunk," she said.

I stared at Peggy's ass as she walked ahead of me, her body swaying slightly with every step. I licked my lips, imagining her lying on the bed while I fucked her.

"Are you staring at my ass?" Peggy asked.

"I was admiring how great your ass looks in that tight pants," I said as I smacked her butt.

She turned around, "Did you just do that?"

"Yeah, bad girls need some spanking. How dare you left me hanging on our date? I was so angry, but you are so beautiful I couldn't stay mad at you," I said.

"Well, we are not together. You can't spank me and order me around like you own me," she said.

"Oh, but I do own you. I own this body," I said, raising my hand to caress her face.

She slapped my hand away. "You are so drunk, I don't know what is wrong with you."

"I am drunk but I am not drunk enough. You are so pretty. So beautiful. I love you so much. I think I love you," I said.

I wasn't sure if I said it or if it was just the booze talking. It's strange. I felt like I loved her, but at the same time, I didn't. I mean, she was hot but I just don't know.

"Get in the car, you idiot," Peggy said, pointing towards her car.

I walked towards the car and sat in the passenger seat. I looked at Peggy as she drove down the road, her eyes fixed on the road. She was so beautiful. Her perfect face. Those piercing eyes. Those rosy lips.

"Stop staring at me," Peggy said, keeping her eyes on the road.

"I am looking at your face. Look, your face is very beautiful," I said.

"I am going to drop you at your house,"

"Oh, but I want to go with you,"

"I don't think that is a good idea, Brian,"

"But I want to go with you. I want to do things with you,"

"You are drunk,"

"So? I can't do things with you when I am sober?"

"That's not what I meant,"

"Well, we can do things,"

"Like what?"

"I want to fuck you,"

Peggy almost lost control of the car.
