Chapter 81 - The master

"Morticia, can't you see that Loren is a bit too old for your pranks?" Estel remarked, casting a glance back at Morticia as he helped Loren to his feet. Loren's face reddened with embarrassment, and it was clear that the fall had caused him some discomfort.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I didn't think Loren would fall so easily," Morticia replied in a surprised tone. She had momentarily forgotten that humans had different physical capabilities and lifespans than her and the other members. Although seemingly harmless and amusing, her prank left her feeling a bit guilty.

"No worries, it's not a big deal, though, ack!" Loren attempted to stand with Estel's assistance, but the fall seemed to have exacerbated some muscle aches, causing him a bit of back pain, which was typical for older individuals like him.

"I'll treat you later, Loren, but let's get inside first. We're quite late now," Morticia said with an apologetic tone, urging them to enter the room in front of them.
