Chapter 167 - Chapter 167

But what was this?

Unification of hearts while they weren't even married yet?

Mark subconsciously glanced at his Web of Fate, noticing Gwen's position at the top seemed somewhat different compared to others.

"Perhaps it's because of this?" he pondered.

He gently touched Gwen's smooth and pretty face, saying, "It's okay, the person has already been taken care of by me. See, I brought the body back; just waiting for the doctors to dissect it."

Doctor Octavius rolled his eyes, "Come on, come on, we are physicists, not biologists! Could you please get it straight?"

Mark chuckled, "Oh come on, it's all for research purposes. It doesn't make a huge difference!"

"Alright, alright," Doctor Octavius impatiently said, "You, lad, are a busy man. You didn't just come here to drop off this corpse, did you?"

"What escapes Doctor Octavius's notice?" Mark smiled. "Due to my repeated actions, our issues with the Inheritors have escalated. So, I was thinking it might be best to bring Gwen and the others to my headquarters."

Earlier concerns about Gwen's safety arose due to the lack of fighting force on their side. But now, not only were several powerful Spider-Men gathered there, but Mark's own abilities had also greatly improved. This made his side somewhat safer than the Ultimate Spider's side.

Naturally, he wanted to take Gwen back there.

However, after inquiring, he quickly learned that Miles was still in class. Thus, figuring out how to bring him from this world was a bit of a headache.

At this point, Miles wasn't the future version of himself yet. He hadn't been through countless battles, hadn't met the "Ultimate Spider-Woman" Jessica Drew, and hadn't lost his mother due to a battle.

He was still just a high school kid.

The good news was, Mark previously saved his uncle, The Prowler. If his uncle stepped in to request leave from school, perhaps...

Thinking ahead, Mark began searching for the Prowler's whereabouts.

Meanwhile,

At the cloning facility of Earth-802,

A clone body of Daemos suddenly opened its eyes. His eyes darted around, realizing he had been resurrected.

Remembering being ambushed by someone stopping his hunt for the "Scion" and being directly taken out by Mark, his face darkened instantly.

Bang!

The precious clone chamber was forcefully pushed open, and Daemos landed in the adjacent corridor.

Warren, one of the three heads of this clone laboratory, approached, holding a prepared set of clothes. "Lord Daemos, the energy replenishment meal has been prepared for you. Would you like to eat something first?"

Daemos took the clothes and draped them over himself, fiercely saying, "No! Where is Jennix? Take me to him!"

"Lord Jennix and Lord Brix recently returned to Universe 001," Warren respectfully replied.

Daemos was taken aback, "Brix? How did he come over here? Does he also...?"

Warren nodded, saying, "Not long ago, Lord Brix was also resurrected once. Seems like he encountered some trouble."

He didn't feel particularly nervous; after all, the Inheritors had been resurrected before.

Daemos's expression darkened. "I understand."

With that, he turned and plunged into the teleportation gate behind him, leaving this universe.

Warren paused for a moment, smiling, "Lord Daemos's fiery personality is truly unchangeable."

Saying this, he immediately called a few robot guards to clean up the clone chamber destroyed by Daemos, muttering about Daemos being quite wasteful—these clone chambers and nutrient solutions were quite valuable.

Weaving World—Earth-001

Named for housing the Weaver Master, this world became the headquarters of the Inheritors after the Inheritor family took control of the Master Weaver.

However, in reality, the Inheritors seldom stayed here. They were always busy hunting and consuming Spider-Men in various worlds.

Today, within the magnificent palace constructed, several Inheritors had gathered.

Jennix, Brix, Bora, Verna, and Morlun.

As Daemos entered the familiar hall where the family often gathered, he was astonished to find that, apart from himself and the exiled Karn, all his other siblings had already assembled here!

"Daemos, you've returned too," Jennix greeted him first.

Daemos found a chair to sit in, his gaze sweeping across the faces of his brothers and sisters. He questioned, "Is father planning a banquet? But I didn't receive any notification."

He looked towards the main seat, but their father—Solus—was nowhere in sight.

The extraordinary thought popped into his mind. Could it be that...?

Jennix interlocked his fingers, resting them on the table, and asked, "Daemos, brother, I heard you recently died too. Who did you encounter?"

Daemos's expression darkened. "You seem to be well-informed."

Jennix chuckled. "After all, it's my company. You haven't said yet, what happened exactly?"

Daemos remained silent, his face shadowed.

He soon noticed that sitting across from him, Brix also wore a grim expression, as if everyone owed him money.

A thought struck him.

"Brix."

Brix turned to Daemos, forcing a smile, but his face remained dark.

Beside them, Bora sneered, "Brix was taken out by some unknown bug that appeared out of nowhere. How embarrassing! Hahaha."

Though twins and often operating together, Bora and Brix constantly mocked and ridiculed each other, never missing a chance to taunt.

That was the nature of the Inheritors.

Daemos's complexion worsened at the comment.

He had a gut feeling that whoever killed Brix was possibly the same person who had killed him!

Morlun tapped the table with his finger. "Not long ago, I encountered someone in a certain universe, quite powerful. He could even conceal the totem's aura!"

Daemos was surprised. "Was he someone wearing a metallic outfit?"

"Metallic outfit?" Morlun pondered for a moment, then shook his head. "No, he wore very casual attire."

"Brother, did you encounter him too?" Jennix was somewhat astonished.

Watching Daemos's reaction, he seemed to have an inkling.

With a grim expression, Daemos nodded. "Exactly, and I met him in two worlds! First in Universe 982, where he stopped me from taking 'The Scion.' then in Universe 751263, he... killed me!"

"What!"

"How is that possible!"

Jennix and the others exclaimed in disbelief.

Daemos was one of the strongest among them. The fact that he could be killed was shocking!

Verna puzzled, "Did he set up a trap?"

Daemos shook his head.

Bora asked, "Did he bring many people?"

Daemos raised a finger. "Just one."

Morlun gasped, "You actually lost in a one-on-one fight!"

Daemos glared fiercely at him.

Being killed in the first place had already soured his mood, and now having his wound mercilessly exposed made him even more displeased.

For a moment, the atmosphere in the room turned somber.

After a moment of contemplation, Jennix spoke up, "Why don't we awaken Father? Let him deal with that person."

Daemos growled, "Go for Father? Jennix, are you still a child? Getting beaten up and calling for the grown-ups?"

Jennix's expression turned cold. "Then, dear brother, what do you suggest?"

Morlun chimed in, "Father is resting. No need to disturb him. But we can't let someone like that roam around disrupting our plans. In my opinion, let's bring our 'hunting dogs' and have some fun with them!"

Verna's eyes sparkled, a smile creeping onto her face. "Hehehe~ Morlun's suggestion is good. I've recruited some hunting dogs from a few worlds. I'll take them out to see their training results. Oh, and my Vulture Legion is in Universe 94, capturing a little spider for me."

A smile tugged at Morlun's lips. "My Legion has also expanded to over five hundred members. They're quite useful."

Jennix shrugged. "In that case, I can assign some of my clone guards for your use."

Daemos glanced at them.

In the past, he would have mocked these individuals as idle and bored.

He always believed that true power stemmed from oneself, not from meddling in trivial matters.

Verna's so-called "hunting dogs" were actually super-powered heroes or infamous villains she captured from various worlds while hunting Spider Totems.

Naturally, the majority were villains.

Superheroes tended to have stronger convictions, making them less "trainable."

Convincing superpowered villains was a much easier task.

Hence, among her forces were about fifty individuals in the "Hunting Dog Legion," comprising Rhino Hounds, Kraven Hounds, Green Goblin Hounds, and others. She also had a "Vulture Legion" with around twenty members from different worlds.

Verna subjected these once unruly individuals to chains, muzzles, brainwashing, and training, transforming them into ferocious hunting dogs.

Whenever she went hunting, she'd select a few of these dogs to accompany her, creating a grandiose spectacle.

On the other hand, Morlun's Legion, The Naamurah Legion, was a mechanized biological force, composed of individuals with modified mechanical exoskeletons.

However, he hadn't entirely completed this legion yet; it was currently in Earth-31411, hunting down that world's Spider-Man, "Armored Spider-Man" Aaron Aikman.

Jennix's clone guards were stationed at his clone company in Earth-802, all genetically modified humans. While individually not exceptional, they possessed modern equipment and decent combat prowess.

But now, Daemos smirked, "Well then, siblings, gather your armies. Let's make some waves!"
