Chereads / Spider-Verse: Another Spider-Man / Chapter 132 - Chapter 132

Chapter 132 - Chapter 132

In his heart, Mark was contemplating whether he should return to his own world one day. However, he had some concerns about the so-called "Spider-Man" curse – it was said that every Spider-Man would have situations where their loved ones suffered because of their role.

And in his world, Landry and Dr. Harper were the two people he was closest to, and they could easily be associated with the "Green Goblin" and the "Lizard."

This made Mark instinctively resistant to returning to his world.

Thinking of this, Mark suddenly thought of Gwen. She didn't want to return to her own world either. What had happened in her world that made her so resistant?

He had seen some comics about "Spider-Gwen," but he knew that his Gwen was probably different from the version in those comics. Even if they started the same, the trajectory of their lives had changed due to his involvement.

Unfortunately, she was not willing to talk about it. Mark hoped that one day Gwen would open up to him and share her worries. It was his responsibility.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Mark," 94th Spiders, after Gwen's reminder, realized that Mark was weakened, looking pale and exhausted, indicating that he had overexerted himself.

He quickly came over to Mark and expressed his sincere gratitude.

"You should also thank Dr. Maria and Gwen," Mark said, "Without Dr. Maria's help, I wouldn't have been able to resolve your genetic issues so quickly."

"And just now, that guy called the Punisher came by again, but Gwen managed to drive him away."

"Thank you, thank you all so much," 94th Spider-Man was deeply moved. In an era where he was constantly misunderstood, encountering people who wholeheartedly helped him was truly touching.

You see, even his aunt and Mary Jane sometimes found Spider-Man annoying. In this world, there were probably only a few people who genuinely liked Peter Parker.

"Alright, you might want to try out your new body. It might bring you great surprises," Mark said with a smile.

94 Spider-Man nodded excitedly. He indeed felt the difference in his body. His physique seemed to have become stronger, and his strength, speed, agility, and even his perception abilities had been significantly enhanced.

He felt that if his current self met his past self, he could easily subdue the former with a single move!

94 Spider-Man went to the window, jumped down, and exclaimed, "Wow, this is so cool, it's really cool!" At this moment, he was as happy as a child.

After circling around Dr. Maria's research institute several times, he returned, still brimming with excitement.

Dr. Maria said, "Your genes have been adjusted to the golden ratio, and you can now call it the 'Golden Spider Gene.' You must have felt its power by now, haven't you?"

94 Spiders nodded and clenched his fists. "With this kind of power, I can better help those in need in the future! Thank you so much, Mr. Mark, Dr. Maria, and Miss Gwen."

"Alright, you go about your business, and I need some rest," Mark said as he yawned.

He was feeling a bit tired and wanted to get a good night's sleep.

94 Spider-Man immediately lowered his voice. "I'll leave for now. I'll come back once Mr. Mark has recovered."

"Sure, you can go," Mark nodded.

Then he turned to Dr. Maria and asked, "Maria, is there a nearby hotel where we can stay?"

Mark did have money, and considering that different worlds might have different currencies, Harry had prepared gold for him. After all, for most worlds, precious metals like gold were universally accepted.

Dr. Maria stood up and said, "There's no need for that. I have plenty of vacant rooms here. You can stay right here. And please, just call me Maria. Always being addressed as 'Doctor' feels a bit formal."

"In that case, you can call us by our names as well," Gwen responded as she helped Mark to his feet.

With Maria leading the way, Mark and Gwen entered a bedroom. Mark fell asleep shortly after lying down.

Gwen, on the other hand, wasn't particularly sleepy. She looked at Mark and couldn't help but lay down beside him, keeping her eyes fixed on him.

Was Mark really asleep?

On the other side,

Having received an enhanced body, 94 Spider-Man was thrilled. Especially since the genetic mutation issue had been completely resolved. This meant he would no longer have to worry about turning into a monster, nor would he have to intentionally distance himself from Mary Jane due to this problem. And all of this was thanks to Mark, Gwen, and Maria.

He really wanted to share this joy with someone, but after thinking it over, he sadly realized that he had no one to share it with.

Oh, wait, there was one person.

Dr. Connors!

"Well, I should go find Dr. Connors. Perhaps he can gain some insights from my transformation, and then I can find Morbius to help him return to his original state," 94 Spider-Man began to sort out the tasks he had ahead.

However, Just as 94 Spiders was about to approach Dr. Connors' new genetics research facility, he suddenly sensed the presence of Morbius!

A dark shadow swiftly passed between the nearby buildings. It was none other than the Pokémon, er, I mean the vampire Morbius!

After becoming a vampire, Morbius gained the ability to fly in the air, making it quite challenging to catch him. 94 Spider-Man observed this and adjusted his original plan.

"Morbius, he's heading towards Central Park, right?" 94 Spider-Man swiftly changed his course towards Central Park.

---

Central Park.

Due to its well-maintained greenery, Central Park was a favorite jogging spot for many. Runners enjoyed the experience of jogging amidst the lush landscape, breathing in the fresh air.

One young man was jogging along the path, with the rustling of leaves in the background. Thinking of recent urban legends, he felt a little anxious. However, he then heard a weak voice crying for help.

"Is anyone there? Please help me~"

The voice sounded incredibly frail, as if the person was seriously injured. Out of goodwill, the young man hesitated but decided to approach the sound.

At that moment, he saw a pair of eyes glowing in the bushes. Startled, the young man instinctively took a step back.

Whoosh!

A figure darted out of the bushes. The young man was frightened to discover that it was a pale-skinned vampire with elongated fangs. This time, it was his turn to cry for help.

"Help!"

However, before he could finish his plea, the vampire Morbius pounced on him. Morbius was a somewhat unique vampire; unlike the traditional image, he didn't only have fangs, but also something like hair follicles on his hands for bloodsucking.

It was evident that Morbius was quite hungry, as he hadn't fed for some time. He tackled the young jogger and promptly attached his palm to the young man's wrist. He drew a significant amount of fresh blood through his hand.

The young man quickly felt weakened, collapsing softly to the ground.

"Morbius, release him!"

Just then, 94 Spider-Man finally arrived. He had been swinging on webs to catch up, which was not as fast as Morbius's direct flight, and there was a slight gap between them when he spotted Morbius.

"It's you again!" Morbius, upon seeing 94 Spider-Man, became enraged.

He was ready to attack when he quickly noticed 94 Spider-Man's appearance and curiously asked, "Have you recovered?"

94 Spider-Man shot a web, pulling the unfortunate young man next to him, keeping him away from Morbius. At the same time, he said, "Yes, Morbius. I recovered, and I believe you can too. You don't have to continue like this."

He was thinking that if Dr. Connors could gain inspiration from his recovery and improve the New Gene Transfuser, maybe they could solve Morbius's problem.

However, Morbius had no intention of cooperating. He sneered, "I don't need to recover. This is the power granted to me by the heavens, my capital for creating a vampire empire!"

"Are you sure about this? What about Felicia?" 94 Spider-Man quickly interjected.

Felicia Hardy and Morbius were lovers, deeply in love with each other, and he hoped to use her to awaken Morbius's conscience.

"Don't you dare mention her in front of me!" Morbius roared in anger and lunged at 94 Spider-Man.

He was confident in his abilities. In previous encounters, he had battled this masked insect numerous times, and 94 Spider-Man speed and strength were comparable to his weakened state. However, now he had just fed.

"Alright, then I'll have to tie you up," 94 Spiders replied, approaching him without hesitation.

"Bold words!" Morbius roared.

Bang!

The two rapidly collided.

In the next moment, Morbius was taken aback. He found himself unable to fight back at all!

Bang, bang, bang!

94 Spiders struck Morbius with three consecutive punches, causing his face to become concave.

94 Spiders was surprised, "Sorry, Morbius. I've just gained this power, and I'm not yet in complete control. Are you alright?"

Being concerned by his archenemy, the one who had just beaten him up, left Morbius nearly fuming.

"You bastard!" he roared, leaping up from the ground and charging at 94 Spiders once more.

94 Spiders felt that Morbius's speed was nothing special. In the past, he could barely make out Morbius's movements and had to rely on Spider-Sense to deal with him, resulting in numerous defeats.

However, at this moment, Morbius's movements were incredibly clear in front of him.

94 Spiders calmly took a step to the side, then extended his hand, carefully controlling his strength.

"Easy, easy, I promise not to smash your face this time."
