"Spider-Man! Argghhh!" Green Goblin charged again.
With Gwen in his arms, Peter couldn't engage in a fight. He could only dodge and evade as best he could.
Seeing several wounds on Peter due to her presence, Gwen Stacy grew anxious.
She quickly said, "Peter, put me down!"
"This..." Peter glanced downwards, then looked at Gwen's current condition, uncertain.
"Quickly, I'll be fine!" Gwen Stacy affirmed, her tone becoming slightly complex. "I can sense my current state. I can protect myself now!"
Peter felt a bit ashamed.
He had already realized that Gwen was aware of his condition at the moment.
Of course, how could she not know?
She had been a student of Curt Connors and had been assisting him with cross-species genetic research before he transformed into the Lizard.
Otherwise, how could she know the configuration method for the serum?
"Peter!"
After narrowly avoiding another attack, Gwen Stacy became agitated.
Andrew Spider finally made up his mind. "I'll put you down first, and I'll deal with him as quickly as possible!"
Saying this, he let Gwen go and simultaneously shot several strands of web downwards.
The web intricately formed a series of large nets between the glass of the building's interior and the outer wall's framework.
Gwen Stacy landed on the web once again.
She carefully placed her feet on it, looking up at the two figures entangled in the sky above, silent.
After a while, she averted her gaze, looking at the glass before her.
The pitch-black glass faintly reflected her current appearance.
A surge of savage emotion repeatedly rose within her, but she forcefully suppressed it.
Swoosh—
Mark ran up along the glass from below and spotted Gwen Stacy standing on the web.
He approached her and looked at her current state. "What happened?"
"Hmm!" Gwen Stacy turned her head, issuing a low growl at him.
Mark eyebrows twitched, almost striking her in reaction.
Fortunately, he realized that she didn't seem to have any intention to attack, so he stopped himself.
"Phew—" Gwen Stacy took a deep breath, once again suppressing the surging savage emotions. "Quick, hurry and help Peter."
"Alright! Take care of yourself. If things get tough, just think about something happy," Mark had no choice but to use this method to comfort her.
"Okay," Gwen Stacy closed her eyes.
After this brief conversation, Mark set off once more, quickly heading towards the ongoing battle between Green Goblin and Andrew Spider on the surface of Osborn Building.
However, when he arrived, he realized that the battle was nearing its end.
Rather than calling it a battle, it was more like Green Goblin was taking a one-sided beating.
The reason for this was two-fold. Firstly, Andrew Spider didn't hold back. Mark had already given him a preemptive warning, and although he hadn't made a decision at the time, the thought was already ingrained in his mind, waiting for an opportunity to manifest.
And Gwen being affected by the Lizard genetic serum is the catalyst for this.
Concerned for Gwen's safety and recalling the vision Mark showed him on the subway of himself holding Gwen's lifeless body, Andrew Spider finally made up his mind.
Just how terrifying could Spider-Man be when he went all out?
Anyway, the Green Goblin before him was completely outmatched.
On the other hand, Green Goblin's own state was also peculiar.
It was different from the initial ferocity and strength.
The current Green Goblin, when exerting force, would tremble all over, and even sporadically experience spasms and convulsions, like an epileptic fit.
In such high-intensity combat, a hesitation of half a second could be exploited by the opponent.
With each successive blow, Green Goblin had already lost his upper hand.
Seeing this, Mark simply halted.
Given the current situation, he didn't need to intervene anymore.
As expected, after another minute or so, Green Goblin was directly knocked down by Andrew Spider's punches and kicks.
He initially intended to grab onto the adjacent wall to slow his fall, but when he reached out, he had another spasm, causing him to crash into the wall instead. Bouncing off the wall, he found himself even further from it, unable to do anything but helplessly engage in free-fall.
This was a height of around thirty to forty meters!
Even if the Toby Spider-Man fell from a height of a little over ten meters, he would still grimace in pain. Doubling that height...
The answer was that he wouldn't die from the fall, but he would definitely accumulate injuries upon injuries.
Having deemed the Green Goblin taken care of, Andrew Spider slumped against the wall, breathing a sigh of relief.
It was at this moment that he noticed Mark was watching him from not far away.
He extended his hand, giving a thumbs-up and breaking into a big smile.
Mark shook his head slightly, pointing in Gwen Stacy's direction. "Quick, take her to find the serum. I'll take care of Green Goblin's body."
"What's going on?" Andrew Spider approached Mark, puzzled.
He didn't quite understand why Mark had to take care of the Green Goblin's body. Wasn't that something the police would handle?
Mark explained, "He might come back to life. Anyway, you should go check on Gwen. I feel like she's not in good shape."
"Got it!" Andrew Spider's expression turned serious. After bidding farewell in haste, he hurried off in Gwen's direction.
Meanwhile, Mark leaped and jumped straight down from there.
Soon, he found the Green Goblin lying on the cement floor.
Based on his current state, it seemed that he had already died.
But considering the previous circumstances, it was hard to guarantee that he wouldn't come back to life.
This was the first time he had seen the complete appearance of this world's Green Goblin.
The previous encounter had been very brief. Mark had instantly defeated the Green Goblin, and the Green Goblin at that time didn't look like this.
What surprised Mark was that this Green Goblin's appearance immediately reminded him of the highly mutated Green Goblin from the Ultimate Universe.
He had watched the movies and had even seen the Green Goblin from Tobey's Universe. In that world, the Green Goblin was mainly technology-based, not fully mutated all over like this one.
Yet, the one before him was primarily mutated, and his identity wasn't Harry Osborn!
"Could there really be some connection between them?" Mark's expression turned more serious as he suddenly remembered a question he had overlooked for a long time.
Back in the Ultimate Universe, along with him, Gwen Stacy, and the Green Goblin, had fallen into the particle stream.
Gwen Stacy had returned to her world; that much Mark could confirm.
But the Green Goblin's body...
Originally, he thought that the body had been directly disintegrated into quantum form by the high-energy particle stream, disappearing completely. But now, looking at it, perhaps those "Green Goblin quanta" that were disintegrated had found new destinations?
The most straightforward possibility was that this world's Green Goblin also possessed the ability to die and come back to life, similar to the Green Goblin in that other world!
He couldn't be certain whether all the Green Goblins from parallel universes had the ability to die and come back to life through the OZ factor, or if it was only a phenomenon in certain worlds.
