Chapter 52 - Chapter 52

Three dart grenades formed a triangular shape mid air and flew swiftly towards Mark.

Buzz—

Mark contorted his body in mid-air at an incredible angle, allowing the three dart grenades to pass by him.

The blades on the side of the dart grenades emitted a faint hum as they rapidly spun through the air near his ears.

But he knew it wasn't over.

The dart grenades would track him!

After Mark corrected his posture, he immediately shot a web towards Green Goblin Junior.

Snap!

The web hit Green Goblin Junior's armor, instantly expanding into a small web, firmly sticking him.

"Get down from there!"

Mark exerted a sudden force, pulling Green Goblin Junior down.

But Green Goblin Junior didn't want to come down.

So, he adjusted his posture, attempting to counter Mark's strength.

However, while the enhancement from the Green Goblin serum took effect quickly, its effectiveness was slightly lower compared to Spider-Man's spider genetics.

More importantly, Green Goblin Junior was still in the air!

His pulling force affected the glider, but the glider's maximum weight capacity was less than 200 kilograms, far from being able to withstand several tons of force.

The glider immediately malfunctioned, taking Green Goblin Junior downward uncontrollably.

At this moment, the three dart grenades, guided by their internal tracking systems, returned.

Seeing this, Mark exerted a powerful force, pulling Green Goblin Junior along with the glider downward.

Then, with a mid-air kick, he kicked the glider in the direction of the dart grenades.

Boom! Boom!

A burst of flames erupted as the glider and the three dart grenades were obliterated.

Just as Green Goblin Junior was about to rise, Mark stepped on him, forcing him back to the ground.

Mark raised his fist, lowering his head, "Are you sober now? Do you want me to use a secret technique to help you?"

"Go to hell!" Green Goblin Junior's voice was somewhat deranged as he swung his arm-bladed right hand toward Mark's leg.

"Quite irritable, young people shouldn't be so irritable," Mark raised an eyebrow, flicked his foot, kicking his right hand back, then "snap snap," he shot out two strands of web, using them to pin Green Goblin Junior's hands to the ground.

'It's better to wait for him to calm down and have a proper chat.' Mark muttered to himself.

Afterward, he sat down, enjoying the intense battle between Toby Spider and Doctor Octopus.

Guided by Doctor Octopus, the two of them had already fought their way from the dilapidated church to the outside.

For Toby Spider, Doctor Octopus was indeed a formidable adversary.

Although he had been Spider-Man for two and a half years, he hadn't encountered many challenging enemies. Generally, he dealt with minor thieves stealing bicycles, robbers snatching money, and such. Thus, he lacked sufficient experience against strong individual opponents.

However, Toby Spider was quite intelligent.

His learning ability was exceptional.

Through studying Mark's combat techniques and accumulating experience from battling Doctor Octopus, Toby Spider was rapidly growing.

Before long, he managed to overpower Doctor Octopus.

Then, seizing the opportunity, he used webbing to firmly bind all of Doctor Octopus's mechanical tentacles together.

Deprived of the assistance of his mechanical tentacles, Doctor Octopus was like a toothless and declawed tiger, suddenly losing his threat.

Toby Spider gestured a thumbs-up towards Mark's direction, then carried Doctor Octopus over.

"Let go of me! You killed my father, I will kill you, avenge him! Kill you!" Green Goblin Junior's hands were stuck, but he continued to shout incessantly, displaying a rather neurotic demeanor.

His constant shouting made Mark want to punch him.

If it weren't for the possibility of redemption for this Green Goblin Junior and the need to consider Toby Spider's feelings, Mark would have wanted to punch him and knock his teeth out.

His constant blabbering was so annoying!

Seeing Toby Spider return, Mark pointed at the Green Goblin Junior on the ground, "I'll leave the task of convincing him to you."

Toby Spider looked at his friend in a crazed state on the ground. The joy that had risen due to their victory in battle vanished from his face.

He nodded silently and gently placed Doctor Octopus on the ground before walking towards Green Goblin Junior.

After hesitating for a moment, he removed his own mask and with a dry voice, said, "Harry."

The Green Goblin Junior, who had been in a crazed state, suddenly came to a halt.

The manic emotions of "Green Goblin Junior" rapidly subsided, and the personality of "Harry Osborn" once again took the forefront.

"Peter?"

After taking a glance, Mark decided to leave first.

He had no intention of getting involved in the matter between this two friends.

Although the storyline had taken a somewhat different turn so far, for Mark, as an entity capable of traversing the multiverse, understanding the true significance of being familiar with the plot was not about being prescient; rather, it was the ability to deduce a character's true personality through their original storyline.

This Green Goblin Junior wasn't as ferocious and inhumane as the Andrew Garfield's version. Nor was he as fanatical and deranged as his father.

After reconciling with Toby Spider, he might even be willing to sacrifice himself to save him!

He could be considered a brother who would lay down his life.

Thinking this, Mark lifted Doctor Octopus, who was by his side, and carried him into the dilapidated church, leaving the two estranged brothers to themselves.

"What do you want to do? Don't touch my equipment!" Doctor Octopus struggled vehemently.

However, without his mechanical tentacles, he was just an ordinary chubby scientist. Even if Mark ignored him, he couldn't carry the restricted tentacles around for an extended period without his mechanical assistance.

Although they were made of lightweight alloy and not very heavy, they still weighed tens of kilograms!

Looking at the chubby man twisting and turning in his grasp, Mark sighed in exasperation, "Doctor Octavius, I have no interest in your equipment. You needn't be so defensive."

"Then what do you want?" Doctor Octopus looked at Mark warily.

Mark responded, "Aren't you curious about my origins? I can tell you."

Doctor Octopus immediately ceased struggling.

Indeed, he was extremely curious about Mark's origins.

The equipment Mark was wearing, his display of knowledge beyond their time—everything made him more and more intrigued about Mark's identity.

As far as he knew, the technological level of this time shouldn't be so high.

Mark continued, "Doctor Octavius, you specialize in nuclear physics, right?"

Doctor Octopus nodded.

"Well, I wonder if you've researched quantum physics?" Mark inquired.

"Of course!" Doctor Octopus exclaimed, "Nuclear physics is built upon the foundation of quantum physics. But what does this have to do with your origins?"

"It has everything to do with it," Mark smiled mysteriously, "Because, you see, I come from another universe!"

Doctor Octopus's expression froze.

"Another universe?"

Then, he gasped in shock as he realized something big, "The theory of parallel universes? It's actually real?!!"

Mark simply watched him with a smile.

His decision was prompted by the fact that he had thought of a clever way to win over Doctor Octopus!
