It all happened way too fast.
"Blarghh..." Claire threw up blood after getting stabbed on the stomach by Kade, I.E.A.'s fifth strongest fighter. He then kicks her away to pull out his shifter sword and turns to Julia.
"Now to deal with you." Kade was itching to finish her off ever since their battle started. He stares down at Julia as she looks over Claire and screams out her name. "CLAIRE!!!"
He pierced his sword beside her face to get her attention. "Hey!! I'm talking here!!"
"...Kade, you bastard!!—" Kade grabs her by the mouth to shut her up. "Dumb fucking bitch, you're the one at disadvantage here!! So shut yer trap before I might torture you to death!!"
Despite her burning rage, Julia held back her tears and kept her teeth gnashed together. "What do you want from me?!" Her voice was full of anger yet spoken in such low tone.
Kade smirks. "Be glad. I'm giving you 2 choices here—" he holds her by the chin and rubbed his thumb on her lips. "—I can either give you the worst death imaginable right here and now, or... I can spare your life if you agree to come back with me to the I.E.A. and become my plaything."
Julia glared at him with disgust and bit off his thumb. "AAAAHHH!! FUCK!!" His hand soaks in his own blood, and stained Julia's face as well.
She spits off his thumb and declared. "I'D RATHER DIE THAN BECOME YOUR PLAYTHING!!"
"FINE YOU FUCKING BITCH!! I'LL MAKE YOU REGRET YOUR CHOICE!!"
Kade stabs his shifter sword onto her left busted leg, making her shriek as he sadistically twist its blade inside her flesh. "AAAAAHHHH!!"
Then as he continues to torture Julia, Raphael showed up and had Kade pause for a moment. "Great, another E.D.L. bastard... what brought you here, Novick!?"
"R-Raph!!..." Julia called his name the instant she saw him.
Raphael went pale at the sight of Claire bleeding from a wound on her stomach. "C-Claire!!..." he then kneels down to check on Claire.
And from short distance, Julia witnessed how Raphael gazed at Claire with eyes she never seen before. The tears she was fighting back from before crawled back to pour out from her eyes, feeling so bitter that he won't even bat an eye at her.
Though Raphael and Claire's moment were cut short when Kade disturb them. "HEY, I WAS TALKING TO YOU!! DON'T JUST IGNORE ME!!... seriously, people from the E.D.L. have no manners! Don't you know how to answer when you're fucking spoken to!?—" then Kade mouth shut the second he met eyes with Raphael.
If looks can kill, Kade would have died already by Raphael's intense glare. "You dare hurt Claire! I'll stab you twice—no, maybe four, or six, or until I turn your body into a total mush of bloody human flesh—I'M GONNA FUCKING KILL YOU FOR HURTING CLAIRE!!!"
"T-This asshole is crazy!!" Kade knew it was going to be an incredibly dangerous fight with an enraged top fighter from the E.D.L., especially when the person is Raphael Novick.
Then in a matter of seconds, Kade have already find himself in a position defending himself from an aggressive enemy that's determined to kill him.
He quickly uses his shifter shield as Raphael launched a cannon attack on him. "Damn it!..." the attack pushed him over, but he was quick to block when he sensed Raphael coming, wanting to pound him to dust with a shifter mace.
Unlike his battle with Kazuki Tanaka, Raphael has gone way more savage and ruthless, making it impossible for his opponents to fight back. Julia and Claire who was watching from the sidelines can see how brutal Raphael can get with his opponent, though this is something one should expect from the strongest man in E.D.L.
When Claire's pain alleviated, she crawled to Julia's side. "Hey... you're bleeding... a lot." Blood was pouring out from Julia's wound on her left leg caused by Kade.
Although Julia was used to bearing painful injuries, but she knows this will be the end of her as she already lost about a liter of blood from her open wound.
"...I can't even get up on my own anymore... I-I might die here..." she said and looked at Claire. "And weren't you stabbed?..." a bit surprised that she still have the strength to come over and speak with her.
"Let's just say I have extreme luck in survivability." With her regenerative ability, Claire's internal wounds have already been healed.
"Is that so..." Julia didn't bother delving deeper into Claire's situation and closed her eyes, almost losing consciousness. Before she can die, Julia asked Claire something. "...are you his... lover?..."
The question surprised Claire. "No... but I'm sure she's out there somewhere."
"What an obvious lie..."
Claire grins. "Sure, if that's what you think."
"...take care of him for me, 'kay?" Those were Julia's final words as she goes to an eternal sleep. Claire moves aside Julia's hair that was covering her face. "What a waste of beauty."
Minutes later, Julia stopped breathing.
Suddenly, a decapitated head rolls to the ground near Claire which had the face of her stabber. "Woah, he dealt with this one way quicker." She can't hide her amazement for Raphael's abilities.
He came back walking to her, completely exhausted dealing with enemies from left and right. But he still worries the most for Claire who was gravely injured. "C-Claire..." his legs gave in and kneeled down as soon as he reached her side. "...are you alright? Your wound?"
"I think I should be the one to ask you that—" She said, referring to his extremely exhausted condition. "—but I'm quite fine. My wound isn't so deep."
"Ahh, thank goodness... ah!" Then something caught him surprised.
"What's wrong?"
"That's!..." it was only then Raphael noticed Julia's corpse before them. Claire was quick to catch on what concerned Raphael and told him the sad news. "...she didn't make it. I-I'm sorry I couldn't do anything."
"Oh, Claire... no, i-it's not your fault." He consoles her, assuming that she's guilty for Julia's death, gaining more of his sympathy.
"If only I was strong enough."
He gently placed his hand on her back as he spoke with much care for her. "You shouldn't worry about that Claire... I swear on my life, I'll be the strength you need."
"Oh Raph..." as the two embraced each other, Claire can't help but grin from the fact that she have Raphael completely wrapped on her fingers.
When they decided to leave the area for a safer place, Raphael ripped off the sleeve of his uniform to cover up Julia's face and left her lifeless body on that battlefield.
