The soldiers of the E.D.L. undergo rigorous training sessions to enhance their strength and power for the upcoming battles against the I.E.A. These training sessions aim to mold them into worthy assets of the E.D.L., capable of realizing their ideals and dreams for humanity's future.
A month have already passed since Claire fought with her platoon commander, Bernadette Ritter. It upsets Claire to learn of the massive difference between her and the platoon commander, she have become immersed in training relentlessly to surpass Bernadette soon.
It was all to increase her chance of rapidly climbing the ranks once another battle between E.D.L. and I.E.A. emerges. She also used these training sessions to keep her mind off of another thing that's been troubling, and yet she keep doing it again and again to make sure all her efforts so far aren't fruitless.
Locking herself within the women's room all by herself, she attempts to call her mysterious partner, Sleek. Her shifter extends into a unique form that reaches her face, allowing her to hear and communicate with Sleek. "Come on!... answer already!" She grows impatient as it was the 34th attempt to call it, but Sleek never answers.
"Did something happened to it? Or did it freaking abandoned our agreement?! Damn it... damn it!!" She reverts the shifter back into her right leg and leaves the women's room.
I'll just train again and call again later, she thought. Little did she know, Sleek was in a bit of a trouble during its stay in the I.E.A. base. Now that it was able to devour and assume the identity and appearance of an I.E.A. lt. General, it never thought that it was more difficult to become a human of higher importance at an organization.
Doing the role of lt. General required Sleek to do all the endless responsibilities pinned to that position. Nobody has ever left its side since then and was always in demand, so Sleek never got to be alone even for a minute and make a call to check on Claire.
"...this is a mistake..." Sleek whispered to itself and sighs. It was in the middle of checking documents with a whole bunch of humans surrounding it to help with the paper works, it badly wants to run away now and take another identity and appearance that was less significant.
A soldier suddenly marched into its office and salutes. "Lt. General Joaquin!"
"...yes, what is it?"
"You are being summoned to the I.E.A. summit."
"Ah yes, I suppose it's about time..." Sleek sighs for the hundredth time and got up from its seat to attend the meeting of the I.E.A.'s executives that's been always scheduled to happen every 3 months or quarterly in a whole year.
Reaching the main building of the I.E.A. base, it'll be the place where the meeting will take place, Sleek adjusts its collar and prepares itself to meet face to face with the 3 highest authorities leading I.E.A. Sleek have already met with Dr. Rodrick Wolfgang before, but this will be the first time it'll meet the other two.
According to lt. General Joaquin's memory, the other two of the highest authority are Han Seong-min and General Claus König. Head of State Han Seong-min is someone to watch for, the man holds power over all of I.E.A.'s territories and is the actual 'supreme leader' of I.E.A. while General Claus König is given the work of handling their military force and Dr. Rodrick was only there to support their decisions and create destructive weapons to use against E.D.L.
By the time Sleek arrived at the venue, there were still others to wait for. The last ones to arrive were the big 3, and the meeting starts at exactly 14:00, 12th of September in the year of 31xx.
"...good afternoon gentlemen, today marks our 156th meeting. Let's begin by discussing lt. General Joaquin's concerns." Han Seong-min spoke.
Sleek got up from its seat and can feel the pressure from the eyes of those watching it. It clears its throat before proceeding, at all cost, Sleek must execute a perfect imitation of the figure of lt. General Joaquin. "...—there were unusual cases of people disappearing for unknown reasons, and most individuals that disappeared are of high ranking such as Captain Yi Xuan of the 3rd Airborne Brigade, Captain Seth Wayne Molasis of the 2nd Armored Brigade, and more..."
Everyone in the room intently listens to lt. General Joaquin's concerns. "...and my teams have speculated that an E.D.L. spy must have infiltrated within I.E.A.'s base to wreck havoc in the organization's structure."
"An E.D.L. spy? Infiltrate? With our tight security system, there's no way that can happen. That speculation of yours is nothing but insult if you can't provide evidence that can back up your statement." Dr. Rodrick hates it when the thing's he's responsible for are being found of errors and flaws.
"Calm down, Dr. Wolfgang. I'm sure General Joaquin here doesn't make certain statements out of nothing, surely there is something that can prove that?" General Claus gazed sharply at Joaquin/Sleek.
One wrong answer, and Sleek might have its head flying. "Y-Yes, I can assure that..." Sleek put down the files he fabricated all on its own to support itself as evidence to its claim. Now the only thing left was for these people to believe in its so-called evidence.
Seong-min is the first to check the files before handing it to Rodrick. And the scientist was in shock to see these images, small objects and letter reports from other soldiers that served as Sleek's evidence. "There are already suspects?!"
"Precisely." And Sleek carefully arranged situation so that others can suspect of these individuals as the E.D.L. spy, and put the missing cases to rest. "Very well, you've done a good job identifying the possible spies of E.D.L. I'll leave that for you to take care of and I'd like to have a report done once you specified who the suspect is." Seong-min said.
The meeting still continues to tackle these problems and make solutions up front to prevent any chaos from occuring, there were other issues discussed as well. Though there was this one particular topic that became the highlight of the I.E.A.'s executive meeting.
Head of State, Han Seong-min declares to his peers. "...—we have gathered intel regarding of another Power Source location. I.E.A. shall take over E.D.L.'s District of Serendipity, near the eastern coast to seize a Power Source for the project warship." He gazed at the military officials with a hint of dismay. "Do not let me down like last time."
