Now they were all on the run from the I.E.A. jet fighters that were chasing them, and it's all up to Zahi on how they'll escape.
"Woahh!! Everyone, hold on to something!" Said Captain Wright.
Everyone in the plane can't catch a break with Zahi's piloting. The whole plane would shake them all inside as Zahi tries to evade every attack the enemy makes behind.
"Fuck!" Zahi got pissed when something hit the jet plane's vertical stabilizer. It'll be a big trouble for all of them if the enemy makes anymore damages.
Raphael approached Captain Zahi and relays his concerns. "Captain, the plane's been damaged! Can't we make any counterattack at all!?"
"This thing's only made for transport, like hell it can do shit like that!"
"Is there anything I can do to help then!?"
"Yeah, sit back and leave it all to me!!" After having his voluntary help declined by the Captain, Raphael had nothing else to do but put his trust on Captain Zahi.
Meanwhile, the enemy forces were still on their tail. And one of them were furiously bossing his subordinate to no end. "DAMN IT, DAMN IT!! CAN'T YOU ALL TAKE DOWN A FUCKING SINGLE PLANE!? AND NOT TO MENTION THAT WE'RE CHASING A NON-COMBAT AIRCRAFT, ALL OF YOU PUTS THE 3rd AIRBORNE BRIGADE TO SHAME!!" Said the Captain of the I.E.A.'s 3rd airborne brigade, Yi Xuan.
"I have to apologize sir!! I-I'll take them down, whatever it takes!" Though the pilot of one of their jet fighters are having troubles with aiming their attack at the target.
"Shit, we can't let them get away. Those bastards might be holding the most important thing in this District, the Power Source!!..." Yi said.
"...and if they get away?"
"Are you out of your mind!? We shouldn't even consider thinking about that! It's a strict order from one of the highest authority, Dr. Rodrick Wolfgang, to secure and take the Power Source from this place!! Do you get what I mean!?"
"Y-Yes!!"
"Good, then fucking take 'em down!!" Then the I.E.A. jet fighters continue to pursue their targets, launching attacks that can destroy the jet plane they're after.
As for Zahi, he did all it takes to evade every attack aimed at them. It's a bit of a challenge for him to loose the enemy chasing after them without any option but to run. "Persistent I.E.A. assholes! Let's see if you can still catch up after this!..." it was then he decides to show off his skills.
Without any warning, Zahi suddenly pitched the plane upwards in a vertical direction, causing the passengers to spill towards the bottom of the plane in a swift movement. "Ugh!! What the hell is Captain Zahi doing!?" Claire complained.
The jet fighters decides to follow Zahi's steps and ascended in a similar manner, this made Zahi smirk. "Ahaha! Idiots!!" As he kept ascending, the whole plane got enveloped by clouds, completely hiding them from the enemy's sight.
Reaching such high altitude, everyone was affected by the thin air making it difficult to breathe while Zahi remains unaffected as this is his field of expertise. This stunt he pulled allowed him to smoothly escape the grasps of the I.E.A. jet fighters.
Yi Xuan got pissed once again as they followed Zahi through the clouds and got him cussing like a grade schooler who just happened to discover the f-curse word. "THAT FUCKING FUCKER FUCK FACE, FUCK DAMN IT!!"
Meanwhile, when Zahi was able to pilot the plane without pulling any more stunts, the rest of the team were all feeling disoriented and nauseous from the shaky ride just now. "Gah!... I thought we were gonna die." Claire uttered and had Raphael caring for her even if he feels sick himself.
"Do you feel like vomitting? Want something to drink? Or—"
"Don't mind me, there are people over there who obviously needs care more than I do." She points to the heavily injured ones, not wanting to deal with Raphael's clinginess at the moment. Even if Julia and Leon were knocked out unconscious at the moment, it was visible on their faces on how much in pain they currently are.
Raphael sighs and gets himself to work in taking care of the other two. Captain Wright sits down next to Claire to check on her. "Are you also hurt anywhere?" He asks.
"I'm completely fine unlike you." She refers to his broken arm, she was unaware that her rude attitude is sipping out due to her unwell state. Though Wright just laughs it off. "You've done well for today soldier."
"...thanks, Captain." She replied in a subtle manner before dozing off to sleep and leaned on Wright's shoulder.
They arrived back at the base later on with a few medic staff waiting for them, so both Julia and Leon were given medical attention right away.
Before Claire was dismissed by the Captain, she had to hand over the Power Source that she's been keeping. "...it's an order to present this immediately upon retrieval to Dr. Hilton. So I'll be leaving the base to go to the Central District later." Captain Wright sighs from exhaustion.
Hearing the name of the supreme leader of E.D.L., Claire showed great interest. "Will you be needing someone to accompany you, Captain?" She asks.
He chuckles and pats her on the shoulder. "You seem to be an ambitious fellow. Only certain positions are allowed to enter the Central District. You still got a long way to go." From there, the Captain have left her.
Claire already knew that it was a futile attempt to get into to the Central District, she'll really have to try harder and raise through the ranks before she can do her main goal here in this E.D.L. organization.
Lost in her thoughts, she snaps back to reality when Captain Zahi pats her head. "Aren't you tired yet? Go back and rest for now." He says and looks at her proudly like a parent, it was a nice feeling for Zahi to accomplish missions with one of his best students.
Claire brushes off his hand like an embarassed kid. "I will, but don't treat me like a child you old man!"
"Who you callin' an old man?! Seriously, I was the one who trained you, and I'm also a Captain here. You ought to treat me some respect."
"Not until you apologize for insulting me and calling me a loser multiple times from before."
"That was a part of training, little dumbass."
"Part of training my ass, you suck at flying airplanes."
Now the two were only provoking each other in their trash talk to start a fight, though it may be intentional as the two were feeling quite nostalgic about it. "Woah! You're really askin' for it, huh!? Shall I give you another beating?" Zahi started stretching his arms, grinning from ear to ear.
"Haha! I beat you once, and I'll beat you again!" Claire have also started stretching out her legs.
But they were put to a stop when Raphael interfered by tapping on Zahi's shoulder. "I don't think she's in a good condition to spar, Captain Zahi." There was a serious tone in his voice as he spoke to his superior.
Sensing hostility from this young man, Zahi decides to back off. "R-Right... then we'll just have to spar another time, Ms. Duvent."
"...right." Claire said in dismay.
"We should go now." Raphael then takes her hand and drags her away. Captain Zahi waves goodbye at the two, a little bit confused by Raphael's behavior. "See you around!"
