As Captain Wright and Raphael were called in to join the meeting, Raphael begins to explain the horrid truth behind a weapon used by the I.E.A.
The I.E.A. has successfully developed a weapon that is capable of transforming a person into a relentless destruction machine which unleashes explosive attacks without end. However, the transformed person functions as a power source of the weapon, supplying it with the necessary energy to continuously unleash explosive attacks.
The nature of the weapon shows the cruelty of the people from the I.E.A. as this shows that they will do anything to attain victory, even if they have to use the lives of people as tools for war. "...how inhumane. To use the lives of people like mere tools, the I.E.A. have gone too far!"
General Damond was unimpressed by Dr. Hilton's reaction. The hypocrisy almost made him roll his eyes at her. Speak for yourself, he thought.
"These advanced weapons used by the I.E.A. is truly effective. They were able to easily dominate the war by using it against us, and so... we find this as an opportunity to make a request, Dr. Hilton." Captain Wright spoke.
"Request?" Dr. Hilton squints her eyes at them.
"...we request the use of weapons that can counterattack these destructive weapons used by the I.E.A., so we can reclaim the land in the North western territory and ensure victory."
Dr. Hilton scoffs, "Hah! What makes you think we have the weapons that can counterattack them!? The research facilities are lacking! We can't further develop any weapon, especially when we lost one of the best weapon manufacturers in the Solace District!"
"My apologies. My ignorance have led me to the assumption that you are capable of producing counter weapons." Captain Wright bows with Raphael.
"Your ignorance also shows that you've forgotten one more important thing as a member of the E.D.L.!" Wright remained silent as Dr. Hilton nagged. "We are driven by the mission of protecting the planet from further destruction!! Using destructive weapons against destructive weapons will eventually lead us to completely lose from the I.E.A.!! Does your puny neanderthal brain understand that!?"
"...y-yes, ma'am."
"Don't rely too much on weaponry! Use your fucking brains to think of a way to counter those weapons from that damn I.E.A.!"
Out of spite, she throws her pen at the Captain. "And because of you incompetent fools, we lost the!—" she stops herself from talking further and tried to calm herself down. "Tsk. Is there not atleast one good news for me to hear!?"
"I'm afraid not." Damond answered.
"Gah!!" She threw her hands up in frustration. "Whatever!... whatever..." A moment of silence occured as Dr. Hilton engaged in her thoughts. She slams her hand as she came up with something.
"I.E.A. is still in the process of claiming the lands in the North west due to the remnants of the nuclear explosion. It'll take a few more days for them to have it all in their hands, and within that time we have..." she glances at Captain Wright. "We must retrieve the main source of power that's in the Rhombus District."
"I-Isn't that quite the risk? This puts their life in danger." Director Junaid joined in.
"I know, but I'm not a moron to send them as they are. I've made some precautionary measures for this type of scenario years ago." Dr. Hilton activates her watch that allowed her to show a holographic image of a suit. "This is the Gamma Suit V3. This can protect them from the after effects of a nuke."
"...!" Everyone was in awe of Dr. Hilton's genius. They are truly astonished by her reliability, however she had to point out a few flaws. "Ehem. Though this thing can only protect its user for 35 minutes. The first version of the Gamma Suit can only last for atleast 30 seconds, the second one lasts for 5 minutes..."
And there goes the crowd's amazement. "...however this newest version can give protection the longest! I made a few adjusments in its..." Dr. Hilton began to passionately explain the complexities of her invention.
Her mood have greatly improved as she lost herself by talking about the Gamma Suit V3. The others didn't want to interrupt as it might revert her to her aggressive mood from earlier, they can't even follow her words anymore as it was too much for them to understand. "...and next time I'll make sure to create the Gamma Suit V4 more resistant to radiation in a longer period!"
"T-That is very brilliant, Dr. Hilton!" Francis, Director of the East region, complimented.
"I know, right!?... Anyway, this suit will assist you in retrieving the power source. There's only 5 of these, so you'll have to gather an agile team for this mission."
"Understood!" Captain Wright and Raphael salutes in acknowledging Dr. Hilton's orders.
"I'll have my secretary send the suits right away and dispatch immediately when you gathered a team, . Move along now..." Dr. Hilton glances back to her colleagues. "...as for us, we still have a lot to discuss gentlemen."
As the two were dismissed, Captain Wright has to lead and carry out this mission as soon as possible.
"So that was Dr. Hilton... she's quite the character." Raphael said as it was his first time meeting the supreme leader.
Wright pays no attention to his comment and straight up asked him. "Raph, who do you suggest we bring with us?"
The first person that comes to Raphael's mind was Claire. He was really impressed by her amazing agility when they were trying to get away from the explosion. Such ashame that he lost sight of her again when they made it back to the base, he's still hoping that he'll bump into her once they arrive back there. Though he has no intention of bringing her along to this mission for the sake of her safety.
"I think it's a wise choice to pick those that ranked in single digits who didn't suffer much from the battle." Raphael said.
"I see. We'll go with that then." Wright agrees, though he had this one person in mind that he deemed greatly skilled and agile. He decides to include that person in his team for this mission. They soon left the Central District to go back to their base.
