Viktor was perplexed. For millennia he had obeyed without question his lord Dimitri's commands, serving him with devotion. There was a problem, though. Anna was a human woman that Viktor had met during one of his missions and had started to feel something for her. He couldn't do it because he was a vampire and owed Dimitri allegiance.
Viktor was distracted by thoughts of Anna as he wandered the pitch-black streets. Although he knew it was wrong to pursue such feelings, he couldn't help but feel a deep desire to her. Humans and vampires were not supposed to coexist, and Viktor had never dared to break that boundary.
One evening, Viktor was summoned to his master's study as he was on his way back to Dimitri's castle. Strong vampire lord Dimitri sat in a high-backed chair with his piercing eyes locked on Viktor.
"I want you to bring Anna to me. I believe her blood holds a great power that could make me invincible."
"Master? I thought out main goal here was to turn her into one of your alike?"
"Now, who permits you to question your lord?"
Heart fell for Viktor. He was aware that if he carried out Dimitri's instructions, he would be betraying Anna. But resisting Dimitri was out of the question as well. Knowing that the consequences may be severe, he had before witnessed his master's rage.
"I understand, Master," Viktor replied, his voice tinged with resignation. "I will find her and bring her to you."
With his allegiance to Dimitri and his affection for Anna at odds, Viktor returned to his assignment. He couldn't help but think back on their time together as he reached out to touch her, remembering their chats, their laughter, and how her touch had sent chills down his eternal spine.
"Anna," Viktor began, his voice filled with a mixture of longing and despair. "I must take you to Dimitri. He believes your blood possesses a power he desires."
Anna looked at him, her eyes filled with confusion. "But why would he want me? What does he want with my blood? You told me, you two only wants me safe! Does it mean killing me? Draining my blood with his fangs?"
Viktor hesitated, struggling to find the right words. "Dimitri is a powerful vampire lord. He seeks to become invincible, and he believes your blood holds the key to that."
Anna's expression changed to one of fear and concern. "And what do you want, Viktor? Do you agree with him? Are you just here to fulfill his desires?
Viktor hesitated, struggling to find the right words. "Dimitri is a powerful vampire lord. He seeks to become invincible, and he believes your blood holds the key to that."
Anna's expression changed to one of fear and concern. "And what do you want, Viktor? Do you agree with him? Are you just here to fulfill his desires?
Viktor looked into Anna's eyes, his heart aching with conflicting emotions. "I will do whatever it takes to keep you safe, Anna. I can't bear to see you suffer at Dimitri's hands."
Viktor and Anna came up with a strategy to escape Dimitri's hands. Viktor's knowledge of the castle's hidden entrances allowed them to go undetected into the night.
Viktor and Anna expressed their worries and hopes as they made their way to safety, their love growing deeper with each passing second.
Before Anna and Viktor could flee, Dimitri materialized out of thin air with a chilly, ominous aura surrounding him. His voice resounded throughout the dimly lighted room as he laughed aloud.
Ah, my dear Viktor," Dimitri sneered. "Did you really think you could deceive me? I am the one who created you, molded you into the vampire you are. Every thought, every emotion, I can hear it all if I so desire."
Viktor's eyes widened in shock and disbelief. He had never suspected that Dimitri possessed such control over him. His heart sank, realizing that their escape had been nothing more than a futile attempt.
Viktor's gaze hardened, a newfound resolve burning within him. "Dimitri, you may have created me, but I am not your puppet. I have grown beyond your control. My loyalty to you has been shattered by the love I have for Anna."
Dimitri's eyes narrowed, his tone dripping with malice.
"Love? How amusing. Love is but a weak human emotion, a mere distraction. You were meant to serve me, to fulfill my every command. But now, it seems punishment is in order."
As Dimitri moved closer, his fangs gleaming in the dim light, Anna stepped forward, her voice filled with determination. "If you harm Viktor, you'll have to go through me. We may be mere humans, but our love is a force stronger than any you can imagine."
Dimitri's amusement turned into rage, his face contorting with anger. "You dare defy me? You, insignificant mortals, think you can stand against my power? I will show you the true meaning of fear."
Dimitri quickly pounced at Anna with his claws outstretched. Viktor intercepted before his deadly attack could reach her, his vampire reflexes outstripping even the creator himself. He seized Dimitri's arm and restrained him with a power derived from love and resolve.
"No more, Dimitri," Viktor growled, his eyes blazing with intensity. "I will not let you harm Anna or anyone else. You may have created me, but I am my own being now."
Dimitri struggled against Viktor's grip, his eyes filled with a mixture of fury and disbelief. "You... you dare to defy me? After all I have done for you?"
Viktor tightened his hold, his voice laced with defiance. "What you did for me was not out of kindness but out of a desire for control. I am tired of being your pawn, Dimitri. It ends now."
Viktor hurled Dimitri across the room, crashing into a bookshelf, with a sudden burst of strength. Books and relics fell to the floor as a result of the impact that shook the space. As Dimitri stumbled to his feet, his forehead was covered in blood.
"Very well, Viktor," Dimitri spat, his voice seething with anger. "You may have won this battle, but mark my words, I will find you both. And when I do, your punishment will be eternal."
Viktor stood tall, his gaze unwavering. "We will be ready, Dimitri."
