Chapter 1 - Voyage of horror - oneshot

He was at the mercy of the tranquil dawn, as the sunlight pierced his skin, he looked at the city, sitting in an absurd position, he gazed upon the horrors of what had happened last night...

He was a living mush, blood leaking out everywhere, he just looked at the endless sky and accepted his supposed death. The pigeons carrying the message towards the west flew off as the last living person in the entire city succumbed to this inert 'punishment from the god'.

As the last remnants of life seeped from his battered body, his mind wandered back to the events that had unfolded the previous night. The once-thriving city now lay in ruins, its streets strewn with debris and twisted metal. The echoes of chaos and destruction still lingered in the air, haunting reminders of the cataclysm that had befallen the unsuspecting inhabitants.

It had started as an ordinary evening, filled with the usual bustle and energy of urban life. People hurried about their daily routines, oblivious to the impending doom that loomed over them. But then, as the sun dipped below the horizon, darkness engulfed the city, bringing with it a hostile force that shattered the peacefulness of the night.

That ship was still there, yes, that same ship that brought the divine punishment of the supposed tyrant sitting in the heavens, but it was not a punishment gifted by none other than the gods of the 3 realms, not at all!

This was the wrath of nature befitting humans, the resultant of their own greed...

"I fancy a knitted one rather than an ordinary skinned one.." a voice, it would seem to be a normal request to some but it was a command, said in a demeaning tone..

"Dear sire! I would certainly vanquish your voracity!"

It was accepted on a great term by the servant...

"the coast got em a few visitors it would seem cha!"

The town was crowded, and was intrigued by a broken ship which landed in their realm,

"Dear sire, it would seem to me that a big sailing wagon, about the size of the black fester of the Northland, has visited our lands, locals are invested in the knowledge related to the wagon, are we-"

"Shut it down, I'm not interested in some lazy ship mason, you know better than to disturb my peace!"

The servant bowed in compliance, hiding their disappointment. He understood the tyrant's unpredictable character and knew better than to question his commands. Despite the clear curiosity of the townspeople, they suppressed their desire to delve deeper into the mysterious ship and its purpose.

As days passed, the ship became a focal point of the town's discussions. Rumors circulated about its origins, with some claiming it came from distant lands never before explored. Others whispered of its supernatural nature, attributing its arrival to the gods themselves. The ship had an eerie aura, an a mysterious presence that stirred both fear and desire among the townsfolk...

It finally reached its breaking point, the human curiosity I mean, the populace took it upon themselves to wander in the dark and gloomy ship and discover the roots of the ship's origins.

They hadn't touched it before as the threat of pirates and thieves being in the dark wagon was a turn-off for everyone. But as a few days went by and the threat of criminals and raiders hiding in the dark went downhill, they finally decided to establish a search operation without the help of the duke's army in order to quench their thirst on this matter, everyone was excited as they wondered about the ideas of achieving riches beyond human limit.

However, this was certainly an idea they would come to deeply regret later on..

As the exploration team ventured deeper into the ship, their excitement began to wane, replaced by a growing sense of unease.

The air grew colder and thicker, and the dim lighting created eerie shadows that seemed to move with a life of their own. It was as if the ship itself was alive, whispering secrets and warnings to those who dared to invade.

Despite their initial enthusiasm, a few members of the group started expressing doubts, sensing that something was not right. They shared nervous glances, but their curiosity propelled them forward, unwilling to abandon their quest for answers.

A daring voyage indeed, as if they were seduced by the ship, they ventured deep and south in the grim and withered vessel.

The silence grew increasingly, unresting to some, peaceful to some, and appalling to others until someone finally broke the silence for once and all!

The frightened and daring members of the voyage turned behind in an absolute state of horror and panic, and it was indeed, a sight to remember for them for the rest of their miserable lives to come... they found one of their members collapse on the floor, they touched his lifeless body and the horror grew more and more...

His body turned black, his dead eyes showing the horror he went through, his hands curled up, showcasing how he wanted to get free from all the suffering, and tears running down his cheeks...

"Oh lord heavens, we should go back now mister saphomoyr, this place is cursed.." a beautiful young lady broke the silence..

"You are right.. Sister casca, we should def-" as the proclaimed saphomoyr was replying to casca's request..a big explosion happened!!

The air was filled with frustration and regrets, it was enough to make someone throw up, and a mystical yet appealing thought ventured into the mind of the daring voyagers.

"Let me see him, let m-"

A struggling voice, a man in black clothing was being held by some people

"No you crazy fool, thou shant touch the cursed souls or else thy get wiped out from the face of midland!" It seems the man in the black clothing was a doctor of some sorts, wanting to do an examination on the dead guy..

"sir.., sir! Sir Sophomoy!'

A wavy voice, a truly and Deeply scarred one, reached out to everyone else..

"Sir, what about the explosion."

Trying to calm down himself, the young guy asking this was speaking in a very low pitched tone... But the silence was enough to make everyone listen to this, all loud and clear.

"We have thus far not seen any living being in this cursed wagon, not even thy dead bodies..Prepare up lads, we are going back!"

Saphomoyr in his misery, dared to speak all this aloud, ignoring the fact that he was the one who had convinced everyone to come with him... The burden on his soul was crushing him apart, everyone started to go back in the direction they came from.. happy to survive this bizarre yet horrifying experience, they were all happy to go to their little homes... But not saphomoyr, his ignorance caused the life of a young man to perish, he could not forgive himself..

As everyone left the wagon to never ever enter it again, saphomoyr jumped into the sea, He left the world, never to experience the warmth of the sun again...

Everyone was petrified at his decision, to realise what that man had gone through in the past hour, it made them sick...

But soon they realised that coming back was the biggest mistake they made~

"oung lad-, Young lad!, Adam!"

"Huh?!"

The doctor, Adam, woke up in his bed, still feeling that his night voyage was some kind of a bizarre dream, his sleep pierced by the sharp voice of his mother..

"Yes, mother."

He replied frantically

"Mr saphomoyr's funeral is underway, we should visit him and pay our respects."

Adam was still in despair, not because saphomoyr died, but because he was still under the assumption that the black thing that killed the young guy back in the ship was not some curse, but something else entirely.. "a plague..?"

Adam suddenly said this, alerting his mother..

"What are you speaking about, Adam?"

His mother, worryingly, replied...

The city was as beautiful as it had always been, the night jewel of Lamsterburge was flamboyant in the day too, a merchant city that was lively like a child, it seemed that the city had a soul too... And it's residents loving it like a human being..

"Big brother Adam!"

A cute yet childish voice alerted Adam,

"Ohh, Nina!? How are you?"

Adam, leaving his inner thoughts, decided to indulge in a conversation with the young girl...

"It seems that everyone has gone to the funeral for uncle saphomoyr.."

She said it in an underlying tone, and both adults were shocked by her understanding..

"The Duke is coming to pay his respects too, it seems."

Adam's mother, trying to relieve him, decided to change the topic..

It was like a dream, as the wind pierced his lungs, he found himself, his true self...

It was like he found the love of his life...

It was like the feeling, the last leaf during autumn would feel... A merciful fate waiting for him in the depths of the afterlife, It was like the love a mother would provide to her child...The atmosphere was red, filled with death...

It was like death itself seducing him...

As the young doctor saw that sight, he realised neither young nina, nor his mother was with him...

Everyone, nearly the entire population of the city, laid there, dead, the rivers of blood flowing downstream reached his legs... He shouted like a Frantic, running from his ill fated destiny, to suffer and die...

It was truly a punishment bestowed by nature, Adam looked at the sun, and took his last breath...
