Chapter 9 - Good and bad

Bibi took the food with trembling hands, his eyes never leaving Revy's. "Thank you," he murmured, before tearing into the bread with the ferocity of a starving wolf. Flam, his hunger forgotten in his curiosity, watched the exchange from Dori's lap.

As night descended, the camp grew quiet. Dori and Flam curled up together, their breaths deepening into sleep as the dragon's warmth lulled the child into a peaceful slumber. Bibi, his cheeks still flushed from the meal, took up a position beside the fire, his eyes vigilant despite his weariness.

Revy, her instincts ever alert, watched from the shadows. His eyes darted between the sleeping figures and the surrounding darkness, searching for any sign of danger. The silence was like a cloak that was both comforting and suffocating as he thought about the people he had killed and the weight of purposelessness.

The fire crackled, casting a flickering light on Bibi's flushed cheeks; It was a stark contrast to the blank look in his eyes. It was a look that told a thousand stories of pain and loss. "So why are you guys running away?" he asked, his voice a mere breath in the silence of the night.

Revy took a sip from her water bottle before answering; his eyes reflected the dance of the flames. "I killed someone." He paused, his gaze wandering into the distance. "I'm not actually running away, I just don't know, I think I'm about to lose my ability to think clearly." He chuckled, a husky sound echoing through the trees.

Bibi watched Revy with a mixture of admiration and fear. "I guess you're not thinking clearly right now because you haven't had enough sleep and rest," he said softly. "I think you should get some rest, you look terrible from here."

Revy nodded, her gaze on the gun. "My body refuses to rest because we're not safe," he said, his voice purring. "I will rest when I get to a safe place"

Bibi with her calm voice. "There are no dangerous creatures in the forest, I've been here for a month," he muttered.

"It's okay, I need to protect myself and Dori right now," Revy said.

Bibi nodded solemnly. "Okay, can I get some rest?" he said in a low voice.

Revy looked at Bibi, who was just a child and trying to live alone in this forest. "Of course, rest." He repeated, squeezing the hilt of the sword. "don't worry, I'm here"

Bibi nodded again, her eyes never leaving the sword. "Your sword," he whispered, his voice filled with awe. "It looks very nice, I've never seen a sword like this before"

Revy felt a sense of relief wash over her. "Yes, it is beautiful, but it is also scary like me," he said.

Bibi looked at him with an expression that seemed to hold a universe of untold secrets. "You don't look dangerous," he muttered, his eyes searching the shadows beyond the fire. "There are a lot of bad people out there, but I think you are a very good person."

Revy lifted her feet and breathed a sigh of relief. "Actually, I don't know anything about my past, about this sword in my hand, but I don't know if I have killed more people, but I feel it, my body remembers the pleasure of the feeling of killing. Doesn't that make me a bad person?"

Bibi nodded, her expression turning serious. "I think whether you are good or bad depends on your intention, it depends on your perspective, as long as your reason is good, you are a good person for me," he said.

As Bibi spoke, the flames danced in her eyes, casting shadows on her face, making her look older, more mature than her age allowed. "After my family was killed, I always encountered bad people. You may be the best person I've ever met," he continued, his voice just above a whisper.

Revy thought about what Bibi had said and felt a shiver run down her spine; The warmth of the fire did little to ward off the sudden chill that had settled over the camp.

Bibi's eyes turned far away, her voice barely above a whisper. "Where will you go when you get out of here?" Revy said as she reached for Dori and looked up at the dark sky. "I don't know, for now I'm letting fate take me somewhere. Until I find my own destiny."
