"uuuhhhhh, I should just go to bed.." 18 year old Kaito Hinata said, before heading to his room.

His room was huge, it was like the master bedroom in his house. Gray walls, black carpeting, and a white bed. Just how Kaito liked it.

Kaito layed down, and went to sleep.

Woke up the next morning, looked out the bedroom window, and said-

"Good morning!" Kaito was weird like that. He would tell the world good morning everyday when he woke up.

He headed out to the living room and looked out the front window-

"What the hell?" Everyone was gone. No cars on the road, no cars in his neighbors driveways either. He was visibly confused.

He would rub it off, until he tried to turn on the TV, that is.

"What the fuck is going on?!" He would try to turn on the tv, but static. There was only static.

No electrical equipment was working, and no one was out on the road. This was getting weird...

Kaito headed to the bathroom, to check if the water was working, and it was. So he brushed his teeth, and took a shower.

After the shower, he would head back out to the living room. "Well, nothing beats a nice walk!" He would say, before walking out of the house.

He only chose to take that walk because the tv wasn't working. Let's just face it: Kaito was a bit of a shut-in. He would almost never leave his house. He would exercise, eat, and watch tv. That is just how he was.

Kaito proceeded to walk, and look around. This is when things start to get really weird...

No one was out, at all.

The driveways were empty, parking lots were empty, roads were empty. This was truly confusing Kaito. He wasn't scared, or worried, though. In fact, he looked a little bit excited. As if he had always wanted to have a world to himself, and now he does.

"I know where I'm goin'!" The first place he would head to is the mansion neighborhood. He didn't have very much money, so he was never able to afford a very nice house.

He looked for the biggest mansion he could find, and saw no one there. He would choose to make that his new house. He went in, and looked astonished.

High ceilings, chandeliers, and multiple bedrooms. This was Kaito's dream house.

There was one downside though. The tv's, computers, and phones weren't working, so he would have to find some other form of entertainment. He noticed this mansion had a pool in the backyard, and a bookshelf full of just manga right next to him.

Hang out by the pool while reading some manga? That is exactly what Kaito would do.

He grabbed a towel, some manga, and headed out to the backyard. He would read the manga on a lawn chair outside, and then it started to get hot, so he would take a dip in the pool.

Kaito knew how to swim exceptionally well. Even though he was a shut-in, he would occasionally leave his house to go on a nice swim in the public pool.

He managed to do eight laps across the pool. If there were still people around, he could be a professional swimmer.

"I would hate a job like that, anyway." Kaito said, when he got done swimming.

It was already getting dark, so he headed back into the house, put the towel and manga away, changed his clothes, and went to the master bedroom of this 'new house'.

He layed on the big king-size bed, and went to sleep. This was a nice sleep, he woke up full of energy, ready for a new day.

He thought he would use this opportunity to explore the empty city.

As he was exploring, he couldn't help but feel a sense of dread.

The entire city, empty. A feeling of loneliness started to encapture Kaito. He was alone, and would stay that way his whole life, at least, that's what he had thought.

As Kaito was walking, he spotted a piece of paper laying on the ground. It was a letter, written by himself..

The letter read-

[Hello, anyone reading this. My name is Kaito Hinata. This is the first entry out of multiple, which will all be scattered around the world. Anyway, it has been 10 years since everyone disappeared. 10 long years, alone. I remember these years clear as day. On the first day of everyone disappearing, I stayed in a mansion. I stayed there for about 3 days, before leaving. I explored the city on the 2nd day, and almost died on the 2nd day. I was stupid and entered a dark alley. In this alley, I thought I saw a person. They were tall, and looked to have a gas mask, and a white suit on. He was very clean. I went up to talk to him, but then, he didn't talk, he lunged at me. I dodged, and ran out of there. I never saw that man again.]

"What.. the.. hell?" Kaito looked at the letter, confused. He looked around, and saw no one around him.

Then, he realized something. The letter mentioned something that hasn't happened yet...

"Can I... Change my fate with these?" He wondered if these letters were telling the future, and giving him an opportunity to change that future.

Kaito put the letter in his bag, and continued to explore the city.
