Chapter 60 - Unwavering Love

Looking at the books in the other person's hands, Fu Xingyun asked, "Are they useful?"

"Of course!" The psychiatrist placed the three books in his hands on the table. "If you feel that you don't need some of them, you can choose not to buy them."

"Then I choose not to buy."

The psychiatrist looked at him and inquired, "Mr. Fu, you don't need any of these books?"

If the titles of those books were something like "Deep Love" or "Being Loved," Fu Xingyun might have considered it, but these books seemed far from serious.

The psychiatrist, undeterred, said, "Mr. Fu, I brought out these books because I thought you might be interested. If it were someone else, I might not even try to sell them."

"How about this, Mr. Fu? I'll subtly inquire about Mr. Lin's thoughts on you later, and then I'll recommend which one to buy for you. By then, you can decide whether you want to buy it with just one word."

Fu Xingyun hesitated for a moment after hearing this, then glanced at the psychiatrist.

The psychiatrist, picking up on the hesitation, swallowed and asked, "Is something wrong, Mr. Fu?"

Fu Xingyun replied, "Your business seems quite extensive."

The psychiatrist remained silent.

In the end, the man made a decision and decided to let the psychologist probe Lin Qiong's thoughts first.

When Lin Qiong strolled back, he saw Fu Xingyun waiting outside the diagnostic room. He quickly approached, "Is the examination over?"

Fu Xingyun nodded.

"How is it? What did the doctor say?"

The psychiatrist, holding a bag of medicine, approached and said, "The situation looks good, much improved compared to last time."

Glancing at Fu Xingyun, he continued, "Mr. Lin, do you have some free time now?"

Lin Qiong nodded, "Yes, what's the matter?"

"Would you mind coming with me for a moment to discuss some matters?"

"Not convenient."

Psychiatrist: !

Fu Xingyun: !

Then the psychiatrist forced a smile and said, "Mr. Lin, if it's convenient for you."

Lin Qiong shook his head again, looking innocent. "Not convenient."

"What's not convenient?"

"Xingyun can't stay outside alone."

The psychiatrist said, "Mr. Lin, rest assured that our hospital ensures a high level of privacy. Mr. Fu won't be left alone outside. Moreover, it will only be a brief discussion about things to be mindful of in the future, and it won't take much time."

After hearing this, Lin Qiong glanced at Fu Xingyun and said, "Alright."

With that, he turned and entered the diagnostic room with the psychiatrist.

"Mr. Lin, please have a seat," the psychiatrist said, placing a cup of water in front of Lin Qiong. "Actually, the reason for asking you to come in is to conduct some psychological counseling."

After taking a sip of water, Lin Qiong responded, "Oh."

The psychiatrist was somewhat surprised. "Mr. Lin, aren't you nervous?"

Lin Qiong was puzzled, blinking his eyes twice. "Why should I be nervous?"

"I am a psychiatrist."

"I know."

"Aren't you afraid that I can see through your inner thoughts?"

"I have a heart of stone," he confidently patted his chest.

"..."

That was indeed quite impressive.

Clearing his throat, the psychiatrist returned to the topic, "Mr. Lin, how do you feel since getting married? Does married life meet your expectations?"

Lin Qiong straightforwardly replied, "Not really."

The psychiatrist: !

"It exceeded expectations."

The psychiatrist sighed in relief, silently hoping that Lin Qiong wouldn't take deep breaths while speaking next time.

"So, Mr. Lin, you're quite satisfied with married life, is that correct?"

Lin Qiong nodded, "Yes, I guess so."

"Good." The psychiatrist pretended to be professional while taking notes. "Does Mr. Lin have feelings for Mr. Fu?"

"Yes." Lin Qiong embraced the romantic persona again. "My love for him is enduring and unwavering until death."

"Is Mr. Fu the most important person in your life?"

Lin Qiong didn't hesitate at all. "Yes."

Because there was no one else in his life.

The person closest to him in this world was indeed Fu Xingyun. Despite being a bit crazy, Fu Xingyun was also his old baby.

If one were to ask who was the most important, it was undoubtedly Fu Xingyun.

The psychiatrist looked into Lin Qiong's eyes, unable to detect any hint of guilt. There were no facial expressions indicating lying.

"Your relationship seems good. A positive and pleasant communication environment can also contribute to Mr. Fu's recovery." The psychiatrist took another indirect approach, "Apart from Mr. Fu, are there any other people or things that Mr. Lin likes?"

Lin Qiong didn't hesitate at all, "I like money."

Truly unfiltered.

"If Mr. Fu and one billion dollars were placed together, whom would Mr. Lin choose?"

"Xingyun."

Because Fu Xingyun had more than one billion.

The psychiatrist noted the result and said, "Okay, now let's move on to another hypothetical scenario?"

Before he could finish, Lin Qiong interrupted, "Wait."

The psychiatrist looked puzzled. "Is there something wrong?"

"Are you giving me a psychological consultation now?"

The psychiatrist nodded, "Yes."

Lin Qiong asked cautiously, "Is it chargeable?"

"What if I say it is?"

"Then I refuse to answer."

"I won't charge."

Lin Qiong, hearing it was free, settled more comfortably into the chair, "Continue."

"..."

The psychiatrist sighed, "I don't know why, but I always feel a sense of familiarity with Mr. Lin."

"Perfectly normal."

The psychiatrist looked at Lin Qiong's clear and sincere eyes, along with his fair and harmless face. It was an innocently charming appearance that lacked any aggressiveness. "Is it because Mr. Lin is easy to get along with?"

Lin Qiong shook his head, "We both adopted certain personas."

"...," sighed the psychiatrist, considering Lin Qiong's money-centric persona.

"Can we continue?" he asked.

"We can."

"Mr. Lin, you can relax a bit."

"I am very relaxed." Lin Qiong leaned back in the chair, close to collapsing if he relaxed any further.

"Imagine you and Mr. Fu are both poor. You only have five dollars. How much would you spend on Mr. Fu?

Lin Qiong didn't hesitate, "Five dollars."

"What if you have a hundred?"

"Still five dollars."

The psychiatrist frowned, "Why?"

"Because my love for him never changes." Saying this, Lin Qiong made a tiny heart shape in front of his chest.

"...," the psychiatrist was at a loss for words.

After their conversation, the psychiatrist went on to brief Lin Qiong on things to pay attention to in taking care of Fu Xingyun's daily life before considering the session concluded.

As Lin Qiong was about to get up, his eyes caught the books on the table. It seemed like the titles were intentionally covered by white paper.

Curious, Lin Qiong asked, "What's that?"

The psychiatrist followed Lin Qiong's pointing finger, and his heart skipped a beat for a moment. But upon seeing the paper he had left there, he sighed in relief, "Just selling books. Mr. Lin, are you interested?"

"I didn't expect you to have such a variety of businesses," Lin Qiong commented. Then he asked, "How much are they?"

"Two hundred each."

"But it says fifty as the retail price on the cover."

"..."

The psychiatrist's smile stiffened a bit, "Mr. Lin has good eyesight."

"Just so-so," Lin Qiong replied, not saying much, unsure who would be unlucky enough to buy those books.

Afterward, he turned to leave, planning to find Fu Xingyun and also figure out what to have for lunch today.

"Mr. Lin, when you go out, could you also ask Mr. Fu to come in?" the psychiatrist requested.

Lin Qiong looked back at him.

"I forgot to check something. Don't worry; it won't take long."

Lin Qiong nodded, "Okay."

Once outside, Lin Qiong spotted Fu Xingyun drinking water at the self-service water area. "The doctor wants you to go in again."

Fu Xingyun, without looking at anyone's expression, replied, "Got it."

Not long after, Fu Xingyun walked into the diagnostic room.

Before the psychiatrist could open the discussion, Fu Xingyun straightforwardly asked, "What did he say?"

"Mr. Lin said his love for you is unwavering until death."

Fu Xingyun's slightly furrowed brows relaxed a bit upon hearing this. "If there's nothing else, I'll go."

The psychiatrist quickly interjected, "Mr. Fu, please let me finish."

"While Mr. Lin has deep feelings for you, your response is quite the opposite."

Fu Xingyun's handsome face showed a hint of displeasure. "What do you mean?"

"I'm not questioning your feelings for Mr. Lin," the psychiatrist clarified, swallowing nervously. "But your interaction pattern with him deviates from the norm."

"What deviation?"

"It's a bit too distant." The psychiatrist gave an example, "For instance, you handle important and potentially misunderstood matters without explaining them to Mr. Lin; instead, you deal with them on your own."

"In simpler terms, it's like having a silent romance." With caution, the psychiatrist continued, "Many melodramatic plots arise from one party seemingly having no mouth and not explaining anything."

He then lifted the book titled "Love Manual" and said, "In such situations, you might need this book to learn how to love and interact with your partner."

Fu Xingyun glanced at the book, his expression showing clear hesitation.

"Not only does this book teach you how to love, but it also guides you on how to be loved. Moreover, I recommend using it together with this one to maximize the effect."

Saying this, the psychiatrist pulled out the book titled "Make a Man Spend a Hundred Thousand for Me in Three Minutes."

Fu Xingyun gave it a disgusted look and turned his head away.

"Hey! Mr. Fu, don't just judge by the surface." The psychiatrist continued, "I know as a big entrepreneur like you, money is not an issue, and you don't need someone else to spend money on you. But the situation is different now."

"Through our conversation, I just found out that Mr. Lin's favorite thing is money, and he's quite frugal about it."

"Think about it. If someone who values money so much is willing to spend it on you, what does that represent?" The psychiatrist clapped his hands. "Doesn't it mean that he loves you?"

Fu Xingyun's gaze returned to the psychiatrist.

"And this book, 'The Green Tea Strategy for Wooing,' is also essential." The psychiatrist continued, slamming the table. "We go way back, so here's the deal. If you buy all three books, I can give you a discount."

----

Lin Qiong was waiting outside when a nurse, dressed in a white uniform like an angel, approached. "Are you Mr. Lin?"

Lin Qiong nodded, "Yes."

"The doctor just generated the bill. Could you please settle it?"

Lin Qiong glanced at the bill, a bit puzzled. "Didn't we already pay for the medical expenses earlier?"

"Oh, yes, that's true. Mr. Fu just had some additional psychological counseling and tests to prevent potential complications."

"I see." Lin Qiong took the bill. "I'll go now. If Xingyun comes out and doesn't see me, could you let him know I've gone to make the payment?"

"Of course."

Lin Qiong nodded and went downstairs to settle the bill.

After Lin Qiong disappeared at the elevator, the nurse hurriedly entered the diagnostic room. "Mr. Lin has left."

The psychiatrist adjusted his glasses. "Did you bring what I asked for?"

The nurse nodded, creating a tense atmosphere as if conveying information in a secret base. "I brought it."

The psychiatrist nodded, "Thank you. This substantial sum can be reimbursed."

With a slight lift of her chin, the nurse said, "Let's get those items out."

She then took out two black plastic bags from her pocket and swiftly placed the three books inside, sealing them securely and preventing any peeks.

The psychiatrist smiled, "Mr. Fu, we always prioritize patient privacy."

Standing up, he and the nurse slightly bowed together, "Welcome back anytime."

Not missing a chance for self-promotion, the psychiatrist added, "Mr. Fu, as a loyal customer, your future discounts will only get better. If you ever have any relationship issues, feel free to contact me anytime. I can provide one-on-one online counseling."

Fu Xingyun took the black plastic bag, asking once again, "Is it really effective?"

Then the psychiatrist wiped away imaginary tears, "The discount I've given you this time is the most generous. I won't hide it from you; I'm actually at a loss. But for the sake of your and Mr. Lin's love, it's nothing. Wishing you a happy married life."

----

Lin Qiong arrived at the payment area, inserted the bill into the machine, and the machine automatically announced the amount to be paid.

A cold, emotionless mechanical voice echoed.

"Two hundred and fifty."
