Sun Shihong: ...
Fu Xingyun: ...
The atmosphere within a half-meter radius quieted down.
Lin Qiong lowered his head, looking at Fu Xingyun with innocent blinking eyes. He couldn't come up with any more words.
Fu Xingyun cleared his throat and spoke up, "Happy birthday, Mr. Sun."
Sun Shihong's expression darkened, but with all the other guests around, he couldn't say much. After exchanging pleasantries, Lin Qiong smartly guided Fu Xingyun out of the venue. The lobby of the mansion was crowded, and Lin Qiong maneuvered through the crowd like a diligent little bee, pushing Fu Xingyun along in a curvy path.
As they arrived at a less crowded dining area, Lin Qiong finally mustered the courage to speak up, "Did I say something wrong just now?"
Fu Xingyun glanced at him and noticed that Lin Qiong was reflecting on his words with his head lowered.
"No, you didn't," Fu Xingyun reassured him. After all, he and Sun Shihong were merely acquaintances, and their presence at the event was just a formality.
Lin Qiong breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing his response. Observing the surroundings, he noticed that birthday parties hosted by wealthy individuals were always so grand.
Fu Xingyun asked, "What are you looking at?"
Lin Qiong struggled for words for a moment before replying, "This place is so big and magnificent."
Fu Xingyun glanced around and didn't find anything particularly noteworthy. To him, it seemed quite ordinary.
"Envious?"
Lin Qiong scratched his head. "It's okay, I guess."
The surroundings were magnificent, and he probably couldn't afford to rent a place like this in his entire life. Thinking about his miserable past life, Lin Qiong sighed softly.
Fu Xingyun glanced sideways at him, his eyes dim and his mood low. He thought that the other person was still feeling guilty about saying the wrong thing earlier.
Neither of them had eaten dinner today, and Lin Qiong's stomach was growling. He went to the food area and grabbed two small pastries.
He waved the plate in front of Fu Xingyun and asked, "Want to eat?"
Fu Xingyun glanced at it; he wasn't particularly fond of sweets. "No, thanks."
Lin Qiong responded with an "Oh," and Fu Xingyun watched as the hand holding the pastry plate retracted, radiating an indescribable sense of loneliness.
Tonight, with the man's mood being low, he tapped his fingers on the wheelchair and then turned his head, intending to say something.
The next moment, he saw Lin Qiong happily enjoying the two pastries he held.
Fu Xingyun: ...He had worried too much.
Lin Qiong hadn't noticed that the other person didn't like sweets. On one occasion, he had made sweet soup at home, and Fu Xingyun had finished it all.
But he couldn't let the person go hungry. Who knows if this old gloomy guy would write it down in his death note.
Then Lin Qiong crouched down and secured the wheelchair. "Wait for me," he said before turning around and leaving.
When Lin Qiong returned, he was holding a white porcelain plate filled with food, mostly meat. On occasions like this, people usually just go through the motions when it comes to eating. The main purpose of attending such events is for networking and business.
Many people glanced at him for a moment, but Lin Qiong didn't mind. However, he knew that Fu Xingyun was sensitive to such attention. So when the gazes lessened, Lin Qiong walked over to him and handed him the food.
Lin Qiong looked at Fu Xingyun like a caring father and said, "Have some first. When we get home, I'll cook for you."
Fu Xingyun curled his fingers and stared at the meat on the plate without making a move.
"Why aren't you eating?" Lin Qiong looked at him, thinking perhaps he was longing for the food he cooked. Suddenly, a sense of pride surged within him.
Then, the deep voice of the man spoke, "I don't have utensils."
Lin Qiong paused for a moment and replied, "Oh."
The lobby was filled with voices and chatter.
"So, that cripple Fu Xingyun is here too?" Sun Jie's voice carried disbelief.
The person beside him responded, "Yes, he came. Just finished exchanging pleasantries with Mr. Sun."
"He has quite a strong mentality. Even in his current state, he still goes out and wanders around," said Sun Jie with a hint of disdain. "He's embarrassing himself."
Sun Jie and Fu Xingyun had a feud since their days studying together at a prestigious foreign university. Even though they despised each other, they were forced to put on fake smiles when they returned to their home country. But now, things had changed. Fu Xingyun had an accident and became a half-paralyzed invalid. The Fu family didn't value him, and he was at the mercy of others.
Sun Jie's eyes gleamed mischievously, "He came by himself today?"
The person beside him replied, "No, he came with his male wife."
Sun Jie asked in surprise, "Male wife?"
The person nodded, "They got married just a week ago. The other person is a man."
Sun Jie burst into laughter, "Fu Xingyun has come to this?!"
The other person laughed exaggeratedly, and Sun Jie's wide-open mouth made them feel awkward. Damn, if they keep laughing like this, won't their jaws dislocate? Will they really not dislocate?
As long as Fu Xingyun is not doing well, Sun Jie will be doing well.
Sun Jie first went to Sun Shihong's place and said he wanted to go out and relax. Then he turned around and began to search for Fu Xingyun. It wasn't difficult to find him, and he found him in a relatively secluded area. Fu Xingyun was sitting in a wheelchair, eating, while a tall man stood beside him. Sun Jie stroked his chin, figuring that must be Fu Xingyun's male wife, the man he married.
In the next moment, the young man turned around and fetched a glass of water. Sun Jie's eyes examined him, realizing that the man was quite good-looking.
He was always open-minded when it came to both men and women. Looking at the person standing next to Fu Xingyun, an idea suddenly popped into Sun Jie's mind. Fu Xingyun's male husband also matched his aesthetic preferences. It would be a win-win situation to have some fun with him and humiliate Fu Xingyun at the same time.
Sun Jie waited nearby, biding his time, and soon found an opportunity. Lin Qiong accidentally got some cream on his cuff while eating and only noticed it now. This expensive shirt would be a pity if it got stained and wasn't dealt with in time.
"I'm going to the restroom."
Fu Xingyun raised his eyes and glanced at Lin Qiong without saying anything.
As Lin Qiong walked away, Sun Jie followed closely behind. However, Lin Qiong naturally had no sense of direction and ended up in the garden instead of finding the restroom.
Sun Jie saw the scene and thought it was a good opportunity. He adjusted his clothes and slowly emerged from the flower bushes, casually plucking two flowers along the way.
In the garden, Lin Qiong realized he had walked to the wrong place and turned around to leave, but was suddenly blocked by the appearance of Sun Jie in front of him. Sun Jie had a bouquet of bright red flowers in his mouth and greeted, "Good evening."
Lin Qiong thought to himself that there were plenty of idiots in the world, but he didn't expect to be surrounded by so many at this moment.
Out of politeness, Lin Qiong responded with a nonchalant "Good evening," and tried to walk away.
However, Sun Jie quickly blocked his path and said, "I'd like to get to know you." Without giving Lin Qiong a chance to refuse, he continued, "Do you know who I am?"
Lin Qiong confidently smiled and replied, "Grandson."
Sun Jie clenched his teeth for a moment, feeling a bit speechless and frustrated by Lin Qiong's response. But considering his own purpose, he didn't say much and calmly said, "I'm Sun Jie."
Lin Qiong casually replied, "Oh, hello Sun Jie," and asked, "Can you tell me where the restroom is?"
Sun Jie pleaded, "Can we talk about other things later? I'd like to get to know you better, but I don't even know your name."
Lin Qiong turned around and said, "Never mind."
Sun Jie panicked, "Don't leave! If you tell me your name, I'll tell you where the restroom is."
Lin Qiong thought to himself, It's better not to know.
Seeing that the person remained silent, Sun Jie became puzzled and asked, "Do you have no thoughts about me?"
Lin Qiong looked at him disdainfully and replied, "None."
Sun Jie said, "That's okay. I have enough thoughts about you. From today onwards, you can get to know me." He then extended the flower he had in his mouth towards Lin Qiong and said, "You are as beautiful as the moon tonight. This flower is for you."
Lin Qiong looked up at the sky. There was clearly no moon tonight.
Shaking his head, he made it clear that he didn't want to accept the flower. Sun Jie didn't give up and brought the flower closer to Lin Qiong, saying, "Take it. Let me intoxicate you."
Sun Jie pressed on saying, "What's there to be shy about? Are you telling me that no one has ever given you flowers before?"
Lin Qiong looked at him, wondering which eye the other person used to see his shyness.
"No need, I'll grow flowers on my grave in the future."
Sun Jie was taken aback. "It's okay if you don't accept it." He tossed the flower aside and looked at Lin Qiong, saying, "But you should know that our meeting today is fate."
Lin Qiong asked, "Fate?"
Sun Jie clenched his teeth, surprised by how difficult the person in front of him was. His cheekbones tightened for a moment.
Lin Qiong didn't want to waste any more time with Sun Jie and turned to leave.
However, in the next moment, he felt a force on his shoulder, pushing him against the wall. With a "smack," Sun Jie pressed one arm against the wall, attempting to perform a dramatic "wall slam." But before he could say anything, the person in front of him quickly ducked and slipped through the gap.
Lin Qiong swiftly moved and didn't look back. He quickly returned to the mansion, circling around a few times before finally finding the restroom.
Meanwhile, in the hall, Fu Xingyun glanced at the time. It had been over twenty minutes since the other person left.
He suddenly remembered the person's complete lack of directional sense during their wedding day.
His gaze darkened, and he raised his hand to rotate his wheelchair.
Lin Qiong continued to clean his sleeve in the restroom when the door opened and closed. He looked up and saw the lunatic from the garden earlier walking in. Lin Qiong furrowed his brows, confused as to why this person was so persistent when they had just met today and were not familiar with each other at all.
Instead of speaking directly, the person stood by the urinal on the outermost side and whistled. Lin Qiong glanced sideways, not understanding what strange fetish the person had, wanting someone to watch them while using the restroom.
This time, Sun Jie didn't display the smoothness he had in the garden. He got straight to the point and said, "You're the male wife that cripple, Fu Xingyun, recently married."
Upon hearing the way he referred to Fu Xingyun, Lin Qiong widened his eyes.
How dare he!
Someone actually dared to address Fu Xingyun in such a manner.
Upon seeing Lin Qiong's sidelong glance, Sun Jie continued, "I've heard from others that you married that cripple because of money, but now that he's fallen from grace, your alliance has become a bad investment. But I'm different. I can give you everything you want, and..." He glanced up and down at Lin Qiong, "that cripple can't satisfy you like I can. You're better off with me."
After hearing this, Lin Qiong shook his head, realizing that the other person was still too young.
Seeing the headshake, Sun Jie's confidence took a blow. "Why? What makes him better than me?"
Lin Qiong turned his head away and replied, "It's better if you don't ask."
He couldn't possibly say that Fu Xingyun will eventually turn the tables on them.
However, Sun Jie persisted, "No, you must give me a reason!"
Lin Qiong looked up and down at him and then fixed his gaze on the person's lower body. "My husband is well endowed."
