Chapter 7 - Massacre

Jin POV: New York City, 9 months after leaving Japan

NYC was once the financial capital of the entire world- an important part of the global economy with one of the world's largest entertainment districts. There is no soul in the world who hasn't heard of NYC. Such is its greatness. Today it still kind of holds that title, except it is now the capital of the undead.

The streets of NYC are currently the most zombie-concentrated hotspot in the world. In the beginning of the apocalypse, any bridges connecting the densely populated peninsula collapsed. Moreover the dams alongside the Hudson river overflowed- due to the lack of maintenance, causing the entirety of the northern part of the peninsula to be flooded with rip currents. This essentially made NYC an isolated island with an area of no more than 500 square km, containing millions of people trapped inside.

Once the virus hit it turned more than 97% of the population into zombies, with the other 3% of the population- the survivors, splitting into two groups. The first group fled to the highest floors of skyscrapers, surviving on canned rations, hydroponics and solar panels for energy. The majority of the survivors however, fall into the second group. The second group barricaded themselves underground across many subway stations, using the train tunnels to commute and trade with other stations.

After a while the survivors discovered many secret escape tunnels that connected many important government buildings across the city, to the underground subway system. These buildings became invaluable survivor bases due to the extra barricade protections, and firearms inside them. One such building is the Federal Reserve Bank Of America- Jin's last target for completing his world quest.

Jin looked down on the zombie infested streets of NYC- while sitting on the Empire State building, and sighed in annoyance. The survivors inside the federal reserve wouldn't just allow him to walk in, grab the money and walk out. He disliked killing, but sometimes violence is the only answer. Jumping down from the Empire State and cushioning the impact with his Susanoo, he cleared the zombie ridden streets in an instant with his Deva Path, making his way towards the Reserve Bank. Upon reaching the bank, an armed muscular middle aged man points his gun at him.

"Drop any weapons, valuables and food. Then state your affiliation and intention"

'At least our friend here is way more straightforward than Shido'. Jin thought.

The thought of Shido brought him a sense of Deja Vu. It's been 9 months since he left Japan. He made his way westward from Japan robbing every significant bank along the way until he reached Western Europe. After emptying the last bank in the UK, he flew across the Atlantic to the Americas and looted the entirety of the Americas too, until just one major bank remained to complete the World Quest.

The journey wasn't a completely smooth ride. Destroying the Umbrella HQ in Japan was an error on Jin's part and painted a target on his back. Banks got harder and harder to rob, as Umbrella realized his intention of robbing every bank. They prepared ambushes at any major banks in his general vicinity using the mind controlled T-virus zombies. Shido's explanation of the zombies getting stronger and stronger as they mutate more, also proved to be true, giving him more of a challenge at every bank.

On the bright side, this fueled Jin's growth by providing a lot of exp points and a chance to improve his fighting techniques. He could now fully utilize the Sharingan and Rinnegan to its fullest potential, even integrating it with his other skills, like applying Armament Haki to his Susanoo, and using Shunpo with Susanoo armored Shadow clones for combo moves etc. Other skills like Plunder allowed him to grow his stats even faster by stealing the attribute points of his defeated enemies. Due to this, his mana reserves are now nearly 5 times more than what it was prior to leaving Japan. His now enormous mana reserves allowed him to travel at speeds around Mach 4 for hours, and even faster if he reduced the time. With this he could easily cross the Atlantic in less than an hour.

The best part was he now owned nearly all the money in the world with his net worth being around USD $80 trillion or 80 billion credits.

"Hey System, could you give me any anime character that is equivalent to my power level?"

[As of right now, you have the same power level of Timeskip Sasuke]

'This system is really a hack. However a lot of my growth can be linked to stealing attribute points using plunder. That skill was really worth the 500 million credits'. Jin is promptly interrupted from his pondering.

"What are your f**ing mumbling about? I think it's just better to get rid of you.", the guard at the bank grunts.

The musclehead shoots at Jin, aiming for a headshot. The bullet fails to kill him as it bounces off his Armament Haki infused forehead. Jin responds by frying his nerves with Electric Release. The musclehead dies in an instant with a loud thud, which alerts the base. Multiple armed people wearing raid suits surround him and bullets begin to fly.

'Looks like we are just brute forcing it. Guess I am infiltrating this bank the non-stealthy way.' Jin coats his entire body with Armament haki, making the bullets useless as they bounce off his body. With Electric Release he then fries all the electronics inside the firearms rendering them useless and kills all the assailants by disrupting the electrical currents inside their hearts.

Moving into the building he kills any resistance in a similar fashion until he reaches a 3 meter thick diamond vault door. The bank was designed in multiple layers to protect the enormous sum of wealth inside it. Unfortunately this was futile against Jin, who simply used his Deva Path- also known as the 'Almighty Push', to blow the door away.

To Jin's annoyance he finds out that the vault had two layers of security, and he still has to blow up one more door to access his 'treasure'. Unfortunately this wouldn't be easy, as the next door was a good 500 meters away with multiple battalions of S-rank zombie mutants blocking the way. Jin looked at one of the zombies and cast 'Observe'

A single S-Rank zombie would be no match for Jin, but 5000 zombies all packed in a 50000 square meter room? This was definitely another ambush planned by Umbrella. This wasn't his first time being ambushed by Umbrella, and he has been ambushed multiple times before, ever since he left Japan after making Toby happy.

From his previous encounters with the zombies Umbrella sent, he knew that a S-Rank zombie on average had the strength and endurance of 10 adult men. And in every ambush, they sent in around 30 S-Rank zombies- with the most being 50 zombies in a bank in London. From Shidos plundered memories, he knew that acquiring a S-Rank zombie was rare, as the infected DNA only has a minuscule chance of mutatuating to the S-tier rank. The whole point is that Umbrella wouldn't waste scarce S-Ranks on eliminating lesser threats.

And If they sent in 5000 S-Rank zombies, it means that they viewed him as an existential threat to their organization and wanted to dispose of him here and now.

He smirked. If it's a death battle that they want, he wouldn't mind accepting the free exp.

Jin is forced out of his thoughts, as his Haki detects an airborne zombie ready to land and gnaw on his neck. Sidestepping the bite with Shunpo, he uses the Deva Path(much to his dismay of losing the mana) to push the zombie to the other side of the room, with a loud wet thud and an exp notification from the system confirming his kill. Looking up he sees hundreds of zombies crawling in the ceiling and thousands of zombies all around him, aiming to assault him from all sides including the air.

He could use Electric Manipulation as he did with the army of geese, but since the zombies are undead and hence don't rely on a single organ like the heart to stay alive, he would have to focus on manipulating the electric currents in every single organ of their body. Multiply that by 5000 zombies and maintaining those many electric currents becomes almost impossible at his current level. The OP abilities of the Rinnegan and Sharingan would definitely do the trick but they were too mana intensive, and he wanted to save his mana in case a stronger foe shows up. That leaves only good old physical combat on the table. An idea clicks his head as he springs into action.

Taking a basic boxing stance, Jin coats his hand with armament haki. He then coats his fists with the same electric currents he used against the goose king. Unlike then he has enough mana to sustain this mode for a longer time. Activating the Sharingan, he dashes into the zombie hoard at a high speed using Shunpo- his slower vision allowing him to accurately smash the skulls of every zombie with great accuracy and speed. For the next 10 minutes, the room is painted a sickly purple red from the blood of the slaughtered zombies.

Looking at the last rare Level 40 Zombie mutant, he flashes in front of the zombie and lands a skull crushing blow to its face. The headless zombies then falls flat into the blood stained ground.

[+25000 exp]

[Lvl up x4]

Jin then slumps to the ground to take a breather. The fight consumed 2000 SP per minute but luckily his regen was 2096 per 30 seconds, so he never ran off SP. Regardless the fight was mentally tiring, but luckily Gamer's Mind kicked in and solved the issue.

'I really need to wash myself and get a new change of clothes. I fucking stink.'

Too lazy to collect the money and plunder the zombie for free attribute points, he sends in a couple of shadow clones to do the deed for him. The anime never really did the convenience of clones justice. After 10 minutes the clones dispelled, letting him know that all the zombie corpses had been plundered and that he collected a whopping 2 trillion dollars or 2 billion credits to his name. A satisfying ping from the system confirmed this.

[-2000 HP, Jin: 8480/10430]

Jin's decision is made for him as his finger accidentally taps 'N' from a strong punch. The punch hits his stomach and sends him flying to the other side of the room. He vomits blood while groggily standing up. 'H.how did my haki not detect that? That hurt like truck-kun'

On the other side of the room where Jin previously was, two silhouettes- one the size of an adult and another 5 meters in size, appear from the dust.

Clap, Clap, Clap.

"Congratulations. It's about time I give you a present for all the trials you have overcome! "
