So, this is the first time I am making something like this. I was considering a backstory for an Inkling that accidentally got permanently transformed into the zipcaster mode, but I realized that there (probably) are no spiders in the future earth which is splatoon.
That absolutely doesn't make the inkling a spider-man (maybe make them a squid-man or an ink-man or smthn). But well, that would completely remove the "Spider" part which is kinda important in the "SPIDER"-verse. Maybe make the inkling stumble in some kind of spider nest which has multiple genetically modified spiders. Maybe make the inkling get a multitude of different powers after letting the modified spiders breed for 5,000 years because of the extinction of humans.
Well here I stumble upon the food part, which is where I am out of Ideas. There is absolutely no way spiders can last that long without food, even if their babies eat their own mother. Maybe make them cannibalistic and eat their own brothers and sisters? Or completely throw that idea out of the window and make it similar to miles and make it come from a different dimension that wasn't intended for the inkling. But Inklings are made out of ink aren't they? They don't have blood and they swim in each other's Ink all the time. They don't even have bones. So uhhh... Idea scrapped.
Anyways I've been out of Ideas for a while, not that anybody is going to read this echo chamber of mine.
