Chereads / Taming Venomous Beauties / Chapter 32 - Low-ranked?

Chapter 32 - Low-ranked?

Hearing that some of the beauties he was supposed to tame were strong enough and power-thirsty to hunt titans, Byron felt the hairs on his body standing straight. With time, he knew he would grow strong enough to also hunt titans. The reason it was not the titans that scared him, but his laziness instead. He was wasting his time.

Though he had been training sword with Peony, he knew battle experience was better than just hearing a couple of tips from a skilled swordsman.

'I should have hunted a few monsters. I should have explored the Almighty Interpreter and experimented further to know more about my Special Ability.'

'Stop spouting out nonsense, fool! If you did, how would you have enjoyed Peony's hot body? You have suffered a lot on earth. You needed to compensate yourself while you still could. Besides, who told you the basics are not needed?'

He tried to tell himself he did right, but, deep down, he knew he needed to start pursue power if he really wanted to enjoy beauties. If he wanted to protect those he loved and enjoy more. It would be so satisfying to feed on a beauty who was able to hunt a titan.

'Well, let me start on the Legacies. Step by step. That's the rule for everything, right?'

To explore the system, he needed to start on Legacies and know their Enhancements and everything attached to them so as to know exactly what to summon once in a dire situation. Knowing one's arsenal was a crucial step towards success, after all.

To do this, he needed to start from the Legacy the goddess had given him last night, Purple Bubbles.

[Legacy: Purple Bubbles.]

[Legacy Description: Her hair was purple. Maybe her boobs too. The reason seeing her always made me feel like flying. It's a pity that I didn't get a chance to touch them.]

'Huh?'

Byron reread the description just to be sure he was not imagining things. Nothing changed.

Was the God of Desires this lustful? Perhaps because the Beauties were no longer with him. He had created this legacy after the Venomous Beauties revolted and left him alone.

Byron was sure that the girl in description was Peony. Purple hair and... well, everything. Even Peony had told Byron that the God of Desires had chosen him for the night when beauties revolted. She even draw the incident on one of the walls in her cave.

'I'm glad that I got to feed on her first.'

As the dragon continued diving toward the canyon where Peony's cave was located, Byron continued his Legacy study.

[Legacy Enhancements: [Invincible Trap.]

'Only one enhancement? Better be good!'

Curious to know what Bubbling Bubbles were capable of, Byron concentrated on Invincible Trap to open its description.

[Enhancement description: As long as the owner has enough Pigment, these bubbles won't allow him to fall. He can even fly with them if he wants.]

After reading this, Byron was excited. Though he knew that one needed to do some experiments before using things, that theory didn't work in this world. If it said he would not fall, who was he to deny it?

This is why he jumped off the dragon, plummeting toward the ground and summoning Purple Bubbles afterwards.

"Byron!"

"What are you doing?"

He heard Peony and Gillian calling his name in panic.

"Don't worry!" he shouted back.

White mist sparkled around his abdomen, the cool air it brought somehow penetrating through his Obsidian Veil to brush against his skin. Despite this, nothing else happened. He continued to plummet toward the ground like an asteroid. This made him start to doubt his decision. 'Why isn't something happening?'

He was going to freak out when he felt the speed at which he was plummeting on decreasing. A small football-sized bubble enveloped his abdomen, growing larger and larger with each second. It was as if he was placed inside a balloon, his legs, arms and head out of it.

'Damn!'

Byron subconsciously directed the bubble to take him toward the lake he had once fell into the day he fought the Ruby Wolves.

'I don't need to get myself drenched to escape this time.'

Because others were still descending from the dragons, Byron dismissed the bubble and entered Peony's cave, aiming for the waterfall. It was in his plans to draw more portals to increase the amount of water at the Drumline Castle.

He summoned his quill and started drawing, not only for the Drumline Castle but also for his mobile water bank. He wanted to have some portals which would allow him to access water whenever he would want in future. He could only achieve that by drawing portals, then wait until he needed water to draw a corresponding portal.

While using the magic quill, the phrase that he needed to grow stronger kept popping into his mind. Reason? When stronger, he could be able to upgrade this quill and maybe use it to transport people or larger items. Why not himself? If he was still weak, he needed a reliable way to escape when in danger.

'You're thinking like a coward. Work hard and...'

"Husband, what was that?"

Peony's voice interrupted his thoughts. She was staring at the waterfall with a smile on her face, a smile that turned into a blush when his gaze met hers. Perhaps she had remembered the good moments with him under those waters.

Byron's lips curled into a satisfied smile at this.

Kyron, Snake, Lynn, twins and Gillian were behind Peony, the Floating Fleet crew behind them, their eyes roaming over the cave, especially on the fruits.

"I'll tell you once this expedition is over."

Byron said as he stood up, not wanting to spend a lot of time here.

He knew that telling her it was a Legacy would be a great explanation, but Purple Bubbles were made in her name. He would once lend the Legacy to her so as to know that the God of Desires loved her like she did. This would earn him more love from her, too.

"As for now," Byron said jumping off the rock near the waterfall, walking toward Peony. "Take them at the rabbit corner and help them catch them."

He pointed at the two men who seemed like they were in their forties. They were among eight porters came with dragons to help the riders load their carts.

"Start harvesting the fruits!"

While crouching to draw some portals, he shouted another instruction. "Kyron and your team, get ready to follow me for a hunt."

He didn't see the expression on Kyron's face for he was busy drawing portals to transport the fruits. However, he knew exactly what was there. Disdain.

A few minutes after showing the porters how to send fruits using the portals, Byron exited the cave and climbed back to where the dragons were resting.

With Kyron, Snake, Lynn and the twins, he approached one of the dragon riders. A guy clad in a brown armor, a member of the scouting team.

"Where did you find those low-ranked monsters?"

The bald man didn't answer him. He instead gestured for the other riders, a gesture they responded to by jumping on their dragons.

"Let's take you there!"

"I thought you said they were nearby." Byron complained.

"When on my dragon, everything my eyes are able to see is considered to be nearby."

"I see!"

What else would Byron say?

He just gestured for his team to hop into the carts. Soon, the dragons shot into the air. He was happy that he was finally going to increase his Pigment Brightness. Unfortunately, his hopes were shattered when the monsters came into his view.

Over 30 Ruby Wolves were scattered here and there, these ones much bigger than those he once tricked into falling into the canyon.

"Are those monsters what you called low-ranked?"

The bald guy in front of him nodded his head.

'Low-ranked?!'

Byron could not believe the nonchalance at which the guy confirmed it. Remembering his lethal battle with them, he cursed.

'How low-ranked? They almost killed me, dammit!'
