A sweet aroma assaulted Byron's nostrils as they approached the main house of the Drumline Castle. It was a sign that the inhabitants of the castle were having lunch, or at least, close to having it.
In front of him, a maid walked with nervous steps, leading the way as if Byron was a special guest.
'This is my home, dammit!'
Byron could see the girls... beautiful girls in walkways of the Drumline Castle stealing glances at him, admiration and some other emotions he could not discern written all over their faces. Even the ones in black outfits and other colours were not giving him a contemptuous look like before.
'This is good!'
On earth, he was born a superstar. No! Even before he was born, the internet was filled with comments like, doesn't Mrs. McHegen like children? Why doesn't McHegan family give birth? Who would inherit all those billions?
The day McHegan family announced Mrs. McHegan's pregnancy, the social platforms's income increased by over 10 percent because of how hot the topic was, everyone making a meme, a video... too many things to connect to the yet to be Kagern McHegen.
Simply, he had made billions of fans before he was even born. Fortunately, he became a talented singer at a younger age, and his looks had inhuman charm. The reason being the center of attention had long been his thing.
Now that it was returning, he was enjoying, mostly for the fact that he was doing it himself. Because it wasn't something he was entitled to. Uh... well, the Goddess of Beauty was helping him but that was his secret.
Don't say it aloud, okay?
"You didn't tell me you're a prince."
When Peony said this, Byron remembered they were holding hands hence discerning the strange emotions in the eyes of the girls he had passed by. They were jealous of her and confused, probably like, who the fuck is she?
Jealousy would have also been a result of how otherworldly Peony looked. Though the journey had muffled her beauty, one could tell by her unique attire, hair colour and eyes. She looked like a goddess compared to them.
Not long after, they entered the Drumline Castle's inner yard, the main house a few meters away. The house stood towering, its elegance a seal of architectural brilliance. This place was not... primitive? Byron didn't know how to place this again. They were not developed like on earth, but not that bad either. The houses on earth had their brilliance vibe, as well as these ones here.
'Don't stress yourself!'
When they reached the two huge closed doors which looked like they were drenched in blood hundreds of years ago, the maid assumed a bowing position and shouted.
"Byron and his wife had arrived!"
'What the...'
'Why did she have to include that wife thing?'
Byron cursed the maid inwardly as he exchanged glances with Peony. First, the maid made it seem as if they knew that he had a wife and that he was coming with her. Maybe the maid wanted to give the guys inside the house a shock of their lives.
'At least she's called me Byron!'
He tried to comfort himself, trying not to imagine what the Patriarch was thinking. He has brought a wife with him? What a perverted kid! That's what Byron assumed.
Maybe he was praising him. Who knows?
Nevertheless, that was yet another problem.
How was he going to introduce Peony? If it was on earth, it wouldn't be difficult. He would take her home and his parents would do all the talking, jumping in excitement that their son is finally having a wife. That they are finally going to have a grandson.
While still consumed by his past life, the doors slid open and something white in colour shot at him with inhuman speed.
'What the...'
He was about to what the fuck when he realized it was Gillian who had jumped at him, hugging her in front of everyone despite being a maid. Well, Gillian was mostly with him or with his mom. She had became one of the Blue Family members, the difference being she was in a white attire.
"I missed you!"
Byron allowed his arms to wrap around her, his mind going crazy at the feeling of her otherworldly melons pressed against him.
'I can't wait to devour this chick! She has provoked me more than I can imagine.'
Byron didn't expect to hear the Goddess of Beauty's voice at that moment.
"I can see my lessons were heard well!"
The goddess had not talked to him ever since he left the cave with Peony. Byron had assumed she was still busy resetting her system. That's why her voice made him jerk a little. He was happy to hear it again.
'How have you been, Beauty Goddess?'
"You can come at night and check."
'You're a slut!'
"I know that!"
'We will see!'
"Enjoy your return then!"
With that, she was gone.
Gillian was still hugging him, trying to press herself more closer despite their bodies already melted together. Maybe if he replied to her words, she would come to her sense.
"I've missed you too!"
He was lying.
Well, did he miss her like crazy? No! He was having fun that he only remembered her when she kissed his hands back when he pushed it through the portal. This didn't mean he didn't love her. She was his, and his alone. The first beauty he encountered in this world. The only girl who truly loved him when his own family had marked him an outcast.
Gilliam pulled away, touched his face like she did the day he transmigrated. Her eyes were teary.
"I was worried!"
Byron patted her back.Β
He knew that this was pissing off someone so he allowed it to continue. As expected, when he threw his gaze past Gillian's shoulder, he saw one of the people around the table staring at him with killing intent.
'Sorry Knox! I was a bully ever since I was born. No! Actually, before I was born.'
He offered the little boy a mischievous smile and shifted his gaze to the people around. A woman with motherly admiration, a woman whose mouth with open in a way that showed disdain as if she was eating the most bitter fruit in her life, a boy whose face was painted with anger and a one-eyed man whose expression was a mixture of shock and pride.
It was exactly like Byron had envisioned.
'I like this feeling!'
After this thought, Byron whipped away Gillian's tears.
"You should relax. I'm back!"
He then passed past her, gesturing for Peony to follow him. However, Gillian didn't allow her to pass. She embraced her in a hug that made her steam double for she was caught off-guard like any other introvert would be.
"Thank you for bringing him back, Big Sister!"
Meanwhile, the purple inside had recovered from their daze.
"Is she really your wife?"
The red-dressed woman asked it with a tone that was aimed at mocking Byron.
"Isn't she a beauty?"
At his reply, the Patriarch burst out laughing. His laughter was warm and satisfied, a sign that he had liked Byron's retort.
"She really is a beauty," he finally said in between his laughter and then pointed at Gillian. "Go prepare my dauther-in-law a bed. She must really feel tired after the journey."
Byron was surprised at the Patriarch's generosity and adaptability. It seemed like he didn't want to explain anything... unless if he wanted of course.
However, living at the Castle would steal him his privacy. Now he wanted his cave more than anything.
"She doesn't like houses," he pointed out, pulling Peony who was done hugging Gillian. "I'll take her to my cave."
