The door creaked open, and a staff member barged in, breaking the uneasy silence that hung in the room. The guy looked like he'd rather be anywhere else, his eyes scanning the participants with an air of disdain.
"Alright, listen up, maggots," he grumbled, his voice gravelly. "I'm here to lay down the rules for the battle royal. Pay attention 'cause I ain't repeating myself."
Johan leaned forward, curious and ready to absorb every detail.
"First off, it's a death battle," the staff guy stated bluntly as if announcing the weather. "You fight until only five of you are still breathing. No holds barred, no mercy."
A murmur of unease rustled through the room, but Johan remained stoic, his mind already calculating the odds.
"You'll be transported to a big, isolated island. Two months. That's how long you've got to either kill or outlast the others. Survival of the fittest, got it?"
