Johan strolled through the gloomy streets of Dome City, the weight of the impending Death River journey hanging over him. With a determined frown, he decided to find a decent place to rest before tackling the challenges that lay ahead.
"Excuse me," he asked the first person he saw, "any good hotels around here?"
The person gave him a sideways glance, a mix of skepticism and pity in their eyes. "Good hotels? Kid, you must be new. Ain't nothing good in Dome City, especially when Death River's just a stone's throw away."
Undeterred, Johan tried his luck with another passerby. "Hey, looking for a hotel. Any recommendations?"
This time, the response was a weary shake of the head. "Hotels? Good luck with that. Most places are barely holding up, just like the rest of us trying to survive Death River."
