With the immediate threat of the centipede creatures behind them, the trio began to explore the vast expanse of the ninth floor more freely. The desolation gave way to patches of rough vegetation and rocky outcroppings. They also began to notice signs of life—albeit strange and foreign.
Johan, his eyes ever-curious, noted each creature they encountered, hoping to understand more about this floor. 'The very essence of this place contradicts itself,' he thought, 'Barren, yet teeming with life in its nooks and crannies.'
Ken, pointing towards a ridge, said, "Look, those creatures... they don't seem hostile." Indeed, atop the ridge, a group of quadrupedal creatures with iridescent fur gazed down at them. Their large, expressive eyes held not malice, but a sense of wonder. They seemed as curious about the trio as the trio was about them.
