The sunshine comes inside the closed blinds and woke me up, I checked the clock and decided to sleep a bit more since it was just 7:00. The second time I woke up, it was 7:30, which was time for me to wake up, I slowly stand up and reached for the towel to shower. The warm water hit my head and I started to freshen up, it's very refreshing, if it was just a year ago.. I wouldn't be able to experience this joy of having water to clean up myself. After I showered I changed my clothes, a basic T-shirt and jeans, still I was grateful. I went to the kitchen and make something simple to get me ready for the day, a bread spread with jam, A simple meal but it filled my empty stomach for the morning as I'm not a heavy eater.
I went out of my apartment, a 300 square feet apartment, it's small but it's more than enough for me. I walked to my workplace at a local cafe, as I walked there, the car noises and people talking filled my ears combined with the scenery of a bustling street, the air is clean and the sky is blue, nothing more I could ask for. There is a lake in the route I always walked by to go to work, Since there is around 30 more minutes before my shift and the workplace is just 10 minutes away, I figured I'll enjoy the scenery a bit. I stopped by and rests my hand at the gate that stops people from jumping inside, the water is also clean and blue, a scene of ducks swimming away and fish swimming in the lake soothe me, I'm really grateful to have a peaceful life such as this, very different from I am a year ago, thanks to that guy that helped me once, I was able to slowly be better and here I am now, a guy enjoying life. I'd like to appreciate everything around me, the trees that I pass by everyday, the air that I breathe in, the people that I see everyday, the clean water that I can drink everyday.
After a few more minutes staring at the lake, I continued on my walk to my workplace, after 10 minutes or so walking, I arrived. I entered and my co-worker, Elise, greeted me, "hey! good to see you!", "likewise! good to see you too!", I replied, then I went to the staff room and get changed into my work attire, which is just basically wearing an apron, then I went to the counter to start my work, a customer came and ordered, then I take their order and passed it on to my other coworker, and the cycle repeats, until, it was time for my lunch break, I went out to buy a meal, with Elise accompanying me, we went to a bakery, I bought some varieties of bread that would go well with drinks at the cafe, Elise however want to go to a more filling shop, that is a restaurant, naturally I accompanied her too, we sat down and she ordered, I simply ordered some drinks since I already had bread, we chatted and the food arrived, she ate and I drank my drinks, we also chatted while at that. " How long have you been working there?" she asked, "maybe about 8 months already" I answered, "Time sure does pass quickly huh..", she said " for sure, but in these 8 months, a lot of things happened, and I also gained a lot", "mhm, me too, wouldn't it be nice if it was just like this everyday?", "yeah.. I think so too, I also like it to be like this everyday, but I also want to go to lots of different places you know, I want to see more of this world, that is also why I've saved up some money for me to go traveling", "I see, if one day you want to go traveling, would you invite me too? Hearing you said that makes me want to travel too", "Of course! we can go together, now since you're done, let's go back our break is about to end", "kayy" we stood up then went back, and continued working, finally the store closed.
I cleaned up the store a bit before ending the day and Elise invited me to go somewhere. I agreed and went with her, She dragged me to a park and told me to sit beside her on a bench. "it's very relaxing, isn't it?", she said "indeed, it's very nice" "well there's no real reason that I invited you, if you want to go it's fine, just hang out for a bit more then you can go", " no, it's fine I'm glad you invited me here, hehe" " hahahah! you better be". After hanging out, we went our separate ways, I went back home and did my nightly routine before going to bed. I went to bed hoping the peaceful day will never end.
