"A house and lot only cost this much?!"
At this day and age in my original world, a plot of land is worth more than diamonds. Even the trash ones were expensive, so the moment I saw the prices, I felt like I hit the jackpot.
Currently, the highest price on the initial list they showed me was 200 gold, and my current savings were exactly 2650 gold. That was enough money to allow me to live comfortably for several years.
"Do you have any specific preferences dear customer?" the man in front of me rubbed his hands excitedly as he waited for my answer.
The reason I went to this place to buy a house was, so I had a place to disappear to once I was done with what I needed to do. It will also serve as my home from now on since the dorms weren't big enough to stay in for both me and Velris.
"I want somewhere far from crowded places and large enough for a ranch."
The man rubbed his chin in thought before he pulled out a disc from inside his coat. The device glowed with runic symbols before a projection appeared. The man fiddled with it for a while before showing me a projection of the land.
"This the best I could offer you. 5000 square meters (about twice the area of a large mansion) with a worn-down ranch already coming with it," the man explained as I looked at the projection.
It was a scale model of a livestock farm, complete with barns, fences, and other facilities. It also showed signs of the facilities being worn-down and practically covered in weeds. It will need a lot of maintenance to make it work, but it will be worth it after.
"I'm guessing this is worth a lot of gold."
The man smiled. "On the contrary, it is only worth 750 gold."
"Sounds too good to be true," I narrowed my eyes at the man.
"Well, you have to consider how isolated the land is, as well as the significant amount of effort needed to make use of it. As it stands, even I wouldn't buy this land."
"I'd like to check the land in person first before making a decision."
The man nodded. "Very well. Please follow me, we have a mage that can teleport as immediately."
"A what?"

"Suspended for fighting?" Catherine looked at the report with a complicated expression.
It was rare for anyone to pick a fight with someone that came from a family that had Rank 12 duelist. Unless you were from a royal family or at the level of a Duke, the mere idea would be suicide.
Another matter was the suspension. It was already quite hard to catch a glimpse of the man, but now that he was suspended, her chances of meeting were even lower.
Catherine had tried sending someone to his dorm to notify him of a meeting, but the messenger had come running back in fear, stating that there was a demon there. Catherine had chosen to ignore such an absurd statement. If a demon had truly been there, then the servant had not have been able to return unharmed. Even low rank demons could inflict powerful curses.
"Must I always resort to magic?"
A blue magic circle appeared in front of Catherine, but with a wave of her hand, it shattered and was replaced with a bright green magic circle. Mana of the same color began to flow from her body, fueling the magic circle that began to grow larger.
As it reached the same height as Catherine, a humanoid figure stepped out. Its body seemed to be made of bright green misty energy that's taking the form of a woman. Its yellow wispy eyes turned towards Catherine.
"You called my lady."
"Sylph, I need you to locate this man," Catherine showed Sylph a projection of Raveil Gray.
Sylph raised her hands and a map of the city appeared. At the far corner of the map, a beacon appeared.
"What is he doing there?" Catherine wondered. "Keep track of him Sylph."
"Call for a carriage!"

The condition of the land was worse than I thought. None of the old facilities were usable. They were either covered in moss or tangled in weeds. The land itself wasn't in good shape either. Several craters were scattered everywhere, and a giant hole was left right behind the cabin. If I decided to purchase this land, a good chunk of the money left would be used for restoration.
"What do you think?" the salesman asked.
Before I could address my concerns, a message from the system appeared.
[Task: Purchase land]
[Reward: One time use skill: Terraform]
[Terraform – Alter any landscape under your ownership into any form you desire]
The description was vague, but I got the idea. "I'll buy this land."
"Wonderful!" the man exclaimed.
Within a minute, we were teleported back to his office then the man began to handle the documents. Magic was used to create documents, and the sight of writings appearing on the paper got my interest.
It seemed magic made up for most of the things lacking in this world. Although magic transmissions were a thing, the concept of phones has not been explored yet.
It was like I was in the middle of both the past and the future, which by definition is the present, but a lot more complicated. "Thinking about it makes my head hurt."
"Dear customer! We are finished with the documents. All we need is your Aura signature and the payment."
A distorted space appeared beside me, giving me access to my inventory. A sight that shocked everyone else in the room, but none of them decided to comment on it. I took out seven bags of gold coins and five bags of silver coins. "That should be worth 750 gold."
"Y-yes," the man took the bags and handed it to one of his assistants. "Please imprint your signature."
Thanks to Raveil's memories, I knew how to imprint a signature. Although this would be the first time, I'd be doing it, Raveil had seen a lot of people from his home do it. Aura wrapped around my index finger, showing a thick white aura.
Pressing it down on the contract, all necessary information about myself was printed on the contract.
"Are we done here?"
"Y-yes sir," the man bowed.
"Could your mage teleport me back to the land?"
"Certainly!" the man hurried called over the mage that had teleported us the first time.
Within seconds, I was back at the mess of a land.
"Let's make this quick."
"Terraform!"
