Chapter 37 - Chapter 36

"Hm..." Lennon thought.

"Victor? Do you remember how we first met?" Lennon asked, nostalgic.

Victor remembered it well.

-------------------

Victor, Liam, Carlson Ascot, Kyle Ascot and Bellatrix were enrolled into Starlight Academy at the young age of 10 and 12.

"Why do I have to be the horse?" Liam asked, with a slight pout.

"Because! You have raven hair just like Ruben!" Bellatrix answered cheerfully.

Ruben was the name of Bellatrix's beloved horse.

"How come the twins get to be knights and I'm the princess?" Complained Victor.

"Stop complaining!! Let's just play already!" Screamed Bellatrix.

"Whatever our sister says goes," The twins Carlson and Kyle said in unison.

"But, Bella, if all three of us are knights, who's the dragon?" Kyle asked gently, patting his sister's hair lovingly.

"I can be the dragon--" Liam said before being interrupted by Bellatrix.

"No! Then I won't have a steed!" Bellatrix exclaimed as Liam thought 'Is that really a bad thing?'

Suddenly, Bellatrix perked up. She glanced at a big tree nearby and made eye contact with the boy that observed them boredly.

Lennon who was a prince had escaped his annoying child followers and spotted the 5 kids and watched them.

Lennon hated being a child and hated being treated like one. He hated and looked down on the noble children that curried for his favor any chance they got.

None of the kids thought like him, he was a genius. No one was smart enough, skilled enough, good enough for him.

Until he met Bellatrix and the others.

While watching the children bicker he saw the girl glance his way, up the tree that he hid in to avoid his annoying followers.

She seemed to jog towards the tree curiously.

Lennon looked on, ready to jump off when she came close.

But she suddenly disappeared, Lennon let out a small gasp of shock and surprise, glancing down to find her figure.

"Hi there," She said suddenly, right next to Lennon.

"GAH!" Lennon exclaimed, falling out of the tree, only to be caught by Kyle Ascot.

"This doesn't look like a dragon, Bella, another princess maybe," sneered Carlston.

"Leave him alone, Carl," Bellatrix laughed as Kyle dropped Lennon, slightly jealous that his sister told Carlston to stop teasing him.

Leonard grunted in pain with scowl.

"Hey, are you alright? I sincerely apologize for my brothers," Bellatrix said smiling brightly.

She put a hand out to help Lennon up.

Lennon watched in awe, her flaming orange hair shining in the sunlight, her cyan snake eyes glowing with joy and intelligence, he felt his heart flutter for a moment as he tried to ground himself back to reality.

He slapped her hand away.

"I can get up by myself. Who are you? And how dare you disrespect the prince of Fantasia?" Lennon asked seriously.

Lennon didn't smile. He didn't laugh. He was cold and serious because he didn't want to be treated as a child, therefore he didn't show his emotions like a normal one.

"You better watch what you say," A voice said behind him.

Lennon saw the white haired boy with eyes as deep as the ocean and light as the morning sky.

The young boy smiled, though he smiled his eyes seemed to look down on Lennon. Lennon froze slightly. He was just like him. And yet why does he look... Happier?

"I, am Victor Arcade Helix Sterling. Her fiancé," he said, glancing at Bellatrix who was grinning happily.

"And we are Kyle and Carlston Ascot, her brothers," The twins said in unison, looking at Lennon with deadly smiles and calculating eyes.

"I'm just an acquaintance. I'm Liam Carver," he said simply, but Lennon could see the trace of a glare.

"As you can see, Prince Lennon, you haven't a word over me," Bellatrix giggled as he felt his cheeks heat up looking at her taunting eyes.

"So I'll ask you but once. Would you like to join me in a game?" She asked putting her hand out, her eyes shining like the sparkling sea.

Lennon reached out hesitantly. And she took his hand and dragged him into the game.

And just like that. Lennon met his first love. And he had found his people who would stick by him through thick and thin, because of Bellatrix he was happy...

-------------------

"I was the worst person out of all of you," Lennon said, looking out of the window.

"I had no friends and was on my way to being despised by everyone," he continued.

"Until you all changed that. Leonard needs this more than I ever did. You won't deny him that happiness we all felt when being together... Will you?" Lennon asked with a sad smile.

Especially after the demon incident, though Claudia and Lennon did all they could and repaired their relationship with their son, Leonard had no friends. And just like Lennon, he looked down on others and found himself bored with everything.

But he looked at Snow as an equal.

Victor knew that once this was brought up he wouldn't have the heart to deny. He felt guilty.

"... They meet up twice a month when Dean comes back from Starlight. The schedule is non-negotiable,"Victor stated, sitting down and starting on the paperwork.

Lennon brightened up and smiled a genuine smile.

"Thank you, Victor," He said as Victor hummed in response.

"King Lennon!" Called a sweet voice.

Snow burst into the room after archery practice to see her uncle Lennon, even though her mother warned her that her father will go around sulking again.

"My princess!" Lennon exclaimed, carrying her and twirling her around.

He hugged her tightly like a stuffed bear.

"Hands off-- HANDS OFF!" Screamed Victor trying to steal Snow away.

"Not so fast!" Lennon exclaimed, running through the door, carrying the princess who was giggling mischievously.

"Eek!" Snow screamed happily as Lennon carried her bridal style and Victor chased them from behind.

"Lennon! Give me back my daughter!" Victor shouted.

"Over my dead body!" Lennon shouted back.

"Oh, I'll make sure you are!" Victor screamed angrily, running at full speed.

Liam who was walking to the office with a giant stack of paper heard the commotion and peeked behind his stack of papers to see the familiar scene of Victor chasing Lennon.

When they were younger it was always Victor who teased Lennon and always got chased by Lennon.

He quickly realized that he had a stack to protect and nowhere to hide.

He frantically tried to turn tail and go the other way when Lennon pulled Liam by the collar and threw Snow up the stack of paper.

"Hi, uncle Liam," She greeted with a mischievous smile.

Victor who was going too fast to stop hit Liam and scattered all the paper, and before Snow could hit the ground, she was caught by Lennon as he started running again, both of them laughing and snorting madly like children.

"Why does this always happen to me?" Liam asked to no one in particular.

"Sorry, Liam, I need to get my daughter," Victor said, quickly getting up.

"I might as well help and end this madn ess," Liam said coldly, barely holding back a smile.

It's as if nothing changed for them at all...
