My eyes widened as I stepped out of my house on a Monday morning, heading to school. I was greeted by the sight of Mr. Robert waiting in his familiar black vehicle, and Jake standing nearby, engrossed in his phone.
Jake hadn't messaged me about picking me up from school, so you can imagine the shock on my face. I mustered a quiet "Morning," biting my lip as I attempted to get his attention.
Slowly, he looked up, and his warm, brown eyes met mine, causing my heart to skip a beat. "Morning," he responded, stepping away from the car door and gesturing for me to join him. "I wanted us to go to school together," he said.
Why hadn't he informed me about this plan? What changed his mind? Despite the questions swirling in my head, I decided to go along with it and climbed into the car.
Curiosity got the better of me, and I couldn't resist asking, "How long have you been out here?" I was puzzled because I was usually the early one when it came to school.
