Chapter 11 - Paradise Lost (I)

Haruki opened his eyes and saw nothing but a swirl of red mana surrounding him, as he was cereening into nothingness. "Am I dead?"

Magus said simply as Haruki then twisted his head from side to side and saw nothing, "Then where the hell are we?"

"You're not making any sense..." Haruki said as he felt the cold embrace of slumber wrapping him.

Magus said as it watched Haruki close his eyes.

Meanwhile back at the remains of Tartarus prison...

Faust was staring at the wreckage while scratching the back of his head. "Now how the hell am I supposed to explain this." He said as he blanky stared at the spot where Haruki disappeared. After a beat a blue portal emerged from beside him and a grumpy man with blond hair emerged from it.

"Faust! It's all over the news! What the hell happened!?" The blond man in a suit said as he put his hands on his hips. Faust on the other hand shrugged his shoulders. "Bomb."

"You know goddamn well that's not an answer." He said as he sighed. Faust then shook his head, "There are no more traces of demonic energy left. They must have detonated the bombs from within." He said making the blonde man sigh in submission. "Fine. Did you kill the anomaly atleast?"

Faust stared at the empty space where Haruki disappeared and smiled, "Yeah, you know me Crowley. I make sure that the job's done atleast." Crowley nodded his head, "Very well old friend. Leave the cleanup to the Circle. For now we should call on who's available to discuss the nature of the Mana Quake earlier." He rambled on as Faust ignored him completely as he summoned an imp holding a clock when he snapped his fingers.

"Faust... Are you listening?" Crowley asked, however Faust shook his head. "No. My favorite band is about to play in warp tour, gotta jet." Crowley blankly stared at his friend and tried to stop him however he has already stepped inside the red portal. "You know nobody says gotta jet anymore right!? You fucking dumbass!" Faust didn't reply but left a parting gift of a floating hand made in flames showing the middle finger.

Crowley clicked his tongue. "What is this place anyway..." He said as he summoned files and instantly his face turned ashen. "Faust you fucking idiot!!!" He bellowed towards no one in particular. "How many days till I retire?" He sighed.

He then snapped his fingers and entered the blue portal exhaustedly. Once the coast was clear a silhouette of a man appeared seemingly out of nowhere. It was Nobody. His orange eyes stared at the spot where Haruki disappeared to. He narrowed his eyes, "Perhaps, there you might find the answer you are looking for, Wolf. Until then live." He said as he turned to leave, "One down. Five more to go." He said as he melded with the shadows and disappeared completely.

Haruki on the other hand was sleeping comfortably as he floated endlessly into nothingness, then all of a sudden he could feel the fresh air and a strong breeze wrap around him. His eyes shot open as he looked around and saw blue skies. White clouds that were drisfting beside him.

After a few seconds he was struck with a sudden realization. "Uhh, Magus? Emergency landing please?" He said as he turned his body around and saw the seemingly endless forest beneath him slowly getting bigger and bigger.

"WAIT! WAIT! WAIT! Not like this!" Haruki panicked as he reached terminal velocity and about to crash down. He the closed his eyes and braced his arms. As he approached the trees he was suddenly covered in black shadows as he crashed and bounced off the trees. The moment he crashed the impact on the ground created a web like crater on the ground, scattering the dirt and rocks everywhere.

As the shadow unrapped Haruki's body he groaned. "Damn it..." He said as he lay spread eagle. Unmoving and undeterred. He then craned his neck to look around and saw nothing but a dense forest all around him.

"Where the hell are we?" He said as he sat up and dusted himself off.

Magus's response made haruki frown, "What the fuck man! I thought you knew!"

Haruki sighed as he dusted of his grime and bloodsoaked pants. "At the very least I need a bath. It's long overdue." He said as he started walking towards a random direction.

Haruki shrugged towards its question. "Later. I need to be presentable atleast."

After almost an hour of walking aimlessly he found a small spring and he erupted in joy. He instantly took off his clothes and dove towards the spring, uncaring towards all the flora and fauna witnessing his idiocy.

"Magus! Soap please!"

Haruki tilted his head, "What? You can summon a sword and those shadow thingies but can't summon soap?" Magus sighed at his words,

Haruki instantly nodded his head. Magus sighed. Haruki shook his head and extended his hand asking for soap. Magus clicked his tongue as a bar of soap appeared on Haruki's hand.

"Thanks!" He said as he washed himself. After a few minuites Haruki extended his hands once more. "Now gimme shampoo." Magus groaned as a small sachet of shampoo appeared on Haruki's hand once more.

Magus grumbled, making Haruki chuckle, "Relax man! I'm a free man now! We can do whatever!" He said as he rinsed off the soap and shampoo off his entire body. He then jumped out of the water and stretched his body. "WHOOO!!! I feel like a new man. That's right everyone! You're staring at a free man! New and Improved Haruki here we go!"

Haruki stared at the beaming sun above them as narrowed his eyes, "This forest is too dense. Any Idea what kind of planet this is?" Haruki asked magus as he stared at the deer prancing all around them. He then pointed towards a deer. "Like what the hell is that four legged alien?"

Magus said in exhaustion, "What's a deer?" He said while tilting his head. Magus said in complete exhaustion. "How'd you know that?" He asked as he approached the deer sipping on the spring. It stared at him warily then pranced away the moment he got close.

Magus said as Haruki chased the deer menacingly. "Earth? Like Earth? Humanity's origin planet Earth? Do you think we're in Earth? We're not that far from Jupiter then. Let's go back to Jupiter and check out the wreckage back in Ganymede." He said as he watched the deer run off into the wilderness.

Magus said as Haruki nodded his head, "Make's sense if there was a forest back on earth like this, I'd have heard about it."

Magus asked him however Haruki shook his head, "That place has been abandoned by humanity. I bet only marauders and bandits are left over there, after they abandoned it after the war thousands of years ago. It's a polluted mess you know."

Magus muttered as He watched Haruki extend his hands, "Clothes, please?"

Magus then gave him some ancient looking clothes making Haruki tilt his head. "The Hell are these clothes?" What materialized beside him was a tacky orange shirt and a pair of black jeans.

"Fine, Fine... I will." He said, then all of a sudden he heard a loud thud from behind him. When he turned around he saw an gorgeous blonde woman looking at him as if he was a wierdo. However the most eye catching thing was her knife like ears. Her blue gem like eyes quivered as she stared at him talking to himself earlier.

Haruki straightened his back and crossed his arms and he said in his most cool voice he could muster. "Hello miss, you look lost. if you don't mind I could show you the way towards the nearest town." He said as he winked at her. Normally this would've been fine but he was ass free buck naked right now.

"F-Freak! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!!" She said as she ran away on the opposite direction. "Wait a minuite miss!!!!!!" Haruki bellowed as he extended his hands.

Haruki tapped his forehead, "Oh! Silly me. I skipped a few steps." He said as he wore his clothes and started chasing after her. "Miss! This was a misunderstandiiiing!!!" His shouts echoed across the forest as he chased after her.
