At first, Kurai thought that the key wouldn't fit into the lock, as miraculously finding the key between the pages of the journal after looking for it was way too coincidental.

Yet the key easily slid into the drawer's lock and Kurai took a deep breath before he turned and pulled it, only to frown at the bunch of scrap that the drawer revealed.

Instead of revealing a book as he'd expected, the drawer held more parchment for writing, a stamp, ink, brushes, and a strange crystal ball no larger than his palm.

None of the objects were important enough to warrant a lock unless the stamp was more important than he could imagine, or unless the object had been removed from the drawer previously.

Kurai sat back with a sigh, "Seriously, it feels like for every piece of information that reveals itself, several more questions take its place."
