Initially, Kurai wanted to take them all out as fast as possible as he wasn't interested in being the king's tourist attraction, but instinct told him that playing his hand too fast would lead to his downfall so he tuned down his speed and aimed to hit them with only a fraction of his strength.
He expected them to block it with ease before returning their own attack, but the first guy who tried to block the attack was sent flying into the two behind them, causing them to fall down in a tangle of limbs and he even saw the other three that moved to attack him, hesitate for a moment, allowing him to strike all three in mere seconds.
