The boss seemed to notice his presence at the last moment and Kurai quickly used 'Cyberblink' to boost his speed even further, not expecting the almost-jarring impact as he angled the blades to pierce just below the boss' neck.
It howled in pain and started thrashing about to try and dislodge him, but Kurai merely gripped the blades tighter and held on for dear life until the boss slowly became weaker and weaker before it finally fell forward and completely stopped moving.
Kurai lay frozen in the same position he'd fallen for quite a while before he realized that the boss was truly dead and he dragged himself up on trembling limbs to stand on top of its corpse.
A ping sounded out, but he was too out of it to really notice it.
"Master? You alright?"
Kurai slowly nodded before he turned to Nila, "I'm fine. That was simply too close."
