Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

After 20 days, I had finally gathered enough EE so I could evolve. Just one more prey on whose leg I was currently standing. But besides my EE, a lot had changed since 20 days. Which was the time I needed to gather enough EE.

Yes, my stats had become insane. Although I still couldn't compare to humans or cows and even cats. I was still way too strong for a fly.

The only sad thing was that around 35 times blood-sucking, the amount of stats I received started exponentially decreasing.

My skill Blood Intake had also leveled up strengthening its effect.

And lastly, I also realized that I was in Finland. And while it wasn't the best land to be in, it also wasn't the worst.

I now looked down at the leg of this male human, it looked tastier than ever. Even with the effects my human/mosquito mind brought, I had never wanted to suck the blood of a human as much as now.

I pieced his leg with my proboscis and started sucking. While keeping a close eye on my EE. And when it hits 100, a new screen opened before my eyes.

[For reaching 100 EE, you are able to evolve. When evolving, you will keep your normal skills, but they may become less suitable to use. These are your options:

Vampire Bat: A sort of bat known for its unique feeding behavior, which involves drinking the blood of other animals to feed and strengthen themself. They possess razor-sharp incisors and anticoagulant saliva. Their stats aren't very strong but are well-balanced. Has no mana and keeps EE Collection Ability Blood Sucking. Rarity: Common

Steel Thick: (not real) A sort of Thick that once it grips itself on another being, is very hard to get off. They then feed on that living being till it totally dries out. It can suck a healthy cow to only bones and skin in 5 days. Most of its stats are very low. But it has exceptionally high endurance and a good amount of strength. Has no mana and keeps EE Collection Ability Blood Sucking. Rarity: Common

Poison Woodpecker: A variant of the woodpecker which is known for its beak that contains poison. Its poison paralyzes its victims. Its size is small compared to a normal woodpecker and uses its poison to slowly break its victims' bones. Most of its stats are average but it has a high agility and strength. Has no mana and loses EE Collection Ability Blood Sucking. Rarity: Uncommon

Vine cat: A cat created of vines that it can freely control to create any shape it wants. It also grows moss on its vines so it can live among humans and attract not too much attention. It feeds on the blood of other humans by piercing it with its vine, who start drinking its blood to feed and strengthen itself. Its stats are average with the only expectations being a very high Agility and Dexterity. Has no mana and keeps EE Collection Ability Blood Sucking. Rarity: Uncommon

Mudstone Golem: A small humanoid golem existing of mudstone. It doesn't need nutrition to survive but it can be fatal when it comes in contact with liquids. It doesn't eat meat and only eats stones. It refines the stones it eats to strengthen itself. It has very high Endurance but a fatal weakness. Its Strength and Stamina are high but its Dexterity, Agility are very low. Has no mana and loses EE Collection Ability Blood Sucking. Rarity: Uncommon]

Looking at all these quite detailed descriptions, I knew I would need some time to think so I went to my base, which was just the attic of someone's house, and started eliminating those I didn't like.

The first one was the Steel Thick. It just didn't seem that attractive with most of its stats being low. And while it having a small build could be useful for being more secretive, its blood-sucking craze negated that. And while I didn't know what the difference was between common and uncommon, I would rather be uncommon than common.

The second was Vampire Bat. The first reason is also its rarity. The second is that I don't think a bat is very common in Finland. And while its anticoagulant saliva was quite attractive, its low stats aren't.

Then between the Poison Woodpecker, Vine Cat, and Mudstone Golem, I decided to eliminate Poiso Woodpecker. Its methods looked to be very violent and while I could change that.

There was a high chance that my mind would be slightly changed just like by becoming a mosquito. And it also just didn't give me a feeling that I wanted it. And one thing I learned through my life was that trusting my gut isn't bad.

And also, it would lose the ability to collect EE by drinking blood. Which I felt quite familiar with.

And when choosing between the Mudstone Golem and Vine Cat. I choose the Vine Cat. While the Mudstone Golem seemed very strong, it also seemed to have fatal flaws. And among all of the options, it was the only one that existed in no way in the human world. And again, it would lose the EE ability Blood Sucking which I liked.

Besides that, the Vine Cat could disguise itself as a normal cat which was very attractive. It also seemed quite strong without any glaring flaws. And it seemed to have a high compatibility with the skills I already had. And it was also the one I felt the best about choosing. And I trusted my gut.

So I choose the Vine Cat and suddenly drowned in a bright white light. It felt like my consciousness fell asleep before immediately waking up again.

I immediately felt that my body had changed. Not only did I feel that I had a Hundred (he doesn't) vines I could control. I felt stronger and healthier than before.

I opened my status, not only because I was curious, but also because I wanted to see how long had passed.

Blood Sucking: [Unstable]]

Seeing my status, I was happy and surprised. What surprised me was the amount of time that had changed. Almost 3 weeks had passed. It seemed I was lucky that no one entered this attic and I needed to be more careful in the future.

But besides that, the rest of my status made me truly happy. Not only did my stats get a good boost, but I also received 3 new skills which seemed really useful.

And while I didn't have the ability t fly anymore, I did have the ability to attack someone from far away.

My special skill had also received an upgrade which would be very useful when fighting and I needed only 500 EE, which didn't seem as far now that I had already done 100.

I went to a mirror I had found in this attic to inspect my knew body. And while the room was only dimly lit, I could still see enough.

I had the structure of a cat, but just as the name implied, I was made up of several tens of vines. And while it looked a bit weird, it did also look very cool. I truly liked my new skill.

I decided to try out my Body Creation skill and try to look as much like a cat as I could. And after a few tries, I created something that a normal passing-by person would assume was a cat.

The 2 biggest problems were to create a smooth surface of a body and make my hair look not green. But the more I tried, the more I got the hang of it, and the better I became at it just like my proficiency proved. It had already become [17,34%] after only an hour of practice.

The sun was high and it was about midday, but instead of going out. I decided to train 2 of my new skills and also the control of my vines.
