Reed seemed shocked at the moment as he hasn't really been reprimanded by anyone since becoming Mr Fantastic outside of Susan. Jhonny for his part seemed to enjoy the reversed situation he was used to others kissing Reed's stretch Armstrong ass even if they were forced to wait for days if not weeks. Yet Julian showed zero desire to pander to his inconsiderate behavior in fact it seemed that he only stuck around to scold him rather than leaving in huff like the very few before him.
Jhonny for his part found the whole situation beyond hilarious and didn't bother hiding his laughter as fell out of his seat. This seemed to embarrasse Reed more than the actual act of reprimanding him. Susan seemed equally embarrassed by this as well due to being his significant other even though the fault solely belongs to Reed.
Reed: If you were so bothered by that I don't understand why you chose to stick around and wait
"I chose to wait patiently because I agreed to meet with at the appointed time and date that we both agreed upon. Had you come showing true remorse for your actions I would have overlooked it the slight. Instead you showed up with a complete disregard for me as well as your significant other expecting me to accept that you blatantly wasted my time. I chose not to comment prior as Susan was a gracious host but looking at Johnny's reactions during this period I deducted that this is a pattern of behavior. Seeing that you have trouble grasping social graces due to your callous behavior I think I explained everything thoroughly for you to understand your situation."
Stunned silence filled the room as Reed was processing exactly what I told him to his face. Others would have waited until they left but I needed him to understand that he wasn't that important to me. He needed to be taken down a few pegs and left frustrated about his own inadequacy.
"I am glad that you aren't the Emperor of mankind your inability to prioritize would leave humanity in dire straits"
Reed: Contrary to what you believe Mr Black I always have the good of humanity in my thoughts as I do my best to in my research
"But apparently not when it is right in front of you. You say that you care and probably in your warped understanding you do but you ignore the common problems that plague humanity.
Before I arrived you could have easily found a solution to those suffering from missing limbs but you deemed the issue beneath your notice. You had more pressing issues that required your full attention rather than something so small. You know how humanity is dealing with issues overpopulation but you most likely excused it telling yourself that it's a problem for countries to find a solution. Even though you have more than likely developed working space travel technology that is safe to use for the general public. Tell Dr Richards is it ethical for a doctor to see a treatable issue and instead of doing something blantonly ignore it?"
Reed wanted to refute my statement but couldn't in fact it seemed to register that he could have discovered solutions to these problems. What terrified him was that knowledge that I could be correct in my assessment of him. That deep down he only cares for his personal fame and glory rather than people as he told himself. That quite possibly he never truly valued anyone other than himself or his work. Seeing that he was at the edge of despair I decided to give one last nudge if he fell he would desperately look for for something to cling onto unfortunately he had a strong support system around him but I could still try.
"As I said before you are unfit to lead mankind in your hands humanity would be swallowed up by disaster long before you took notice of it's plight"
The look in Reed's eyes told me that something fundamental to him broke at this statement. Susan seemed to be contemplating everything that I had said about Reed unable to deny it's reality and wondering if she was something more to Reed or just a means to an end. Although Reed was in a relationship with Susan she began to wonder is that because he cared for her or was it because she was the heiress to the Baxter group? As for Jhonny he was no longer laughing as he was before. He clearly disliked me now but couldn't deny anything that I said as he sat quietly brooding.
