Chapter 21 - Vol.2 - Ch 1: History of Planet Nova

A/N: Before we start, I need to notify you guys about something. I had said at least 2 chapters per month, but I made a mistake. It is a minimum of 1 chapter per month. Sorry about that.

As this is my first time writing, I made mistakes in the first volume. I could have rewritten them, but I will try to fix them in the second volume while keeping a good pacing. It won't take too much time.

Planet Nova, one of the three habitable planets in the Centaurus star system, is renowned for being the oldest and most diverse among them. It is home to 35 intelligent races, each with its own distinct strengths and weaknesses. The planet's varied landscapes are rich in resources and present both opportunities and challenges.

However, Nova is not without its dangers. Its terrain is inhabited by formidable creatures capable of causing widespread devastation, and there are treacherous regions that can threaten even the most skilled individuals. These areas are classified by danger levels, ranging from Tier 1 (least dangerous) to Tier 9 (extremely dangerous).

The creatures, referred to as Star Beasts, are classified similarly, but their tiers extend significantly higher—from Tier 1 to an extraordinary Tier 55.

Despite the inherent risks, numerous adventurers undertake the perilous journey into these hazardous zones each year to hunt Star Beasts and collect unique resources not found elsewhere. This risky endeavor has been a driving force for innovation and progress, contributing to the advancements seen on Nova over the past 12,500 years.

This new era commenced after the Catastrophe—an event that introduced Star Beasts to Planet Nova 12,500 years ago, reshaping the environment and compelling its inhabitants to adapt to unprecedented challenges.

In Country K's grand library stand towering shelves filled with ancient tomes and records. At one of the wooden tables, Nexus is seated, intently examining the intricate script of a book that chronicles the history of Planet Nova. The pages recount tales of ancient civilizations, the rise and fall of empires, and the planet's natural wonders. However, one chapter stands out—the Catastrophe.

As he turns the page, he pauses, a look of concentration on his face. The account is thorough yet carries an air of mystery. Setting the book down, he leans back and gazes up at the high-arched ceiling.

"Lumos, could you explain how this Catastrophe occurred?" he inquires, maintaining a calm tone though curiosity is evident.

"The exact cause remains uncertain," Lumos responds, its voice clear in his mind. "Speculation suggests an extraterrestrial origin... however, no conclusive evidence supports this hypothesis."

Nexus contemplates this for a moment, pondering aloud. "Fascinating. Is there more information available?"

"Please hold for a moment, Master," Lumos requests. "I possess data regarding the monsters and the civilizations' DNA of this world. I will require some time to analyze it."

"Understood," Nexus replies, lightly drumming his fingers on the table as he waits.

After a brief delay, Lumos continues. "I have retrieved some information. I analyzed the DNA of the monsters and the civilizations present on this planet. However, their commonality is not evident."

"Common Factor?" Nexus inquires, leaning forward in interest.

"Indeed," Lumos clarifies. "Regardless of the diversity of lifeforms on a planet, all are derived from a single-celled organism. There is always a unifying factor among all life on a planet, which remains consistent until the end. This is known as the Common Factor. The monsters, however, do not share this factor—they are not native to this planet."

Nexus's expression shifts to one of surprise. "That is intriguing. So it appears the speculation holds true... these monsters did originate from space. But how exactly?"

"I apologize, Master," Lumos responds, "There are no existing records explaining how this transpired. However, if you complete the hidden missions and unlock additional features, I believe you will gain access to a feature that can give you such information."

Nexus smiles faintly, feeling a renewed sense of curiosity and excitement.

A/N: I know this chapter is short so The next chapter will be out in a week with more content. Another reason this is short is because of my long study seasons. Because of it, I don't have enough motivation or energy to write the chapter.
