The crack of thunder surprised all aboard, Steve however noticed Loki's extra large jolt, and noticed he was on edge.
"What's the matter? Scared of a little lightning?" Steve asked sarcastically.
Surprisingly Loki answered as he continued to look outside the Pelican, "I'm not overly fond of what follows."
Steve gave a momentarily confused expression then shook his head and looked back out the front window of the Pelican, watching the storm clouds roll in above them quickly.
Suddenly a loud bang happened on the roof of the dropship, causing everyone to look up at the same time.
"Bozhe moi! What the hell was that?" Yelena shouted aloud, whenever she was startled or under heavy stress she always reverted to her native language. Tony quickly put on his helmet to go check it out.
"Tony what are you doing?" Steve asked as he watched Tony walk to the rear ramps control panel and opened the hatch.
Before Tony could fly out to check out the situation a large muscular man with long blonde hair, wearing a magnificent gun metal silver armor, a long red cape and holding a hammer landed on the opening ramp.
Seeing the sudden appearance of someone, Tony put his hand up to hit the man with his repulsor attack, just as the suit was about to fire the hand repulsor, he was slammed in the chest with the hammer launching him back towards the front of the ship.
Loki tried to use this chance to escape but was grabbed by the throat, the man spun the hammer then launched out the rear of the ship, disappearing into the darkness with Loki.
"Wait a minute, wasn't that Thor? I thought he was a friendly." Yelena looked at Natasha incredulously.
"Now there's that guy." Tony muttered to himself, "It doesn't matter, if he frees Loki or kills him the Tesseract is lost." Tony said as he got up from the ground and began to make his way to chase after Thor and Loki.
"Stark, wait, we need a plan of attack." Steve called over to Tony causing him to stop and turn to Steve. After a moment Tony gave him a nod. Held out his hand to Steve, "I do have a plan." Tony said with an outsretched hand. Steve looked at Tony and gave a smile, "Yeah I know, Attack!" Steve returned Tony's nod and grabbed his hand. As soon as he did Tony took off after them, as Steve held on.
Seeing both Steve and Tony leave him behind, Bucky quickly grabbed a parachute and began putting it on. When Natasha glanced back and saw what Bucky was doing, she couldn't help but say, "I'd sit this one out, Bucky."
"I don't see how I can." Bucky said as he finished putting on the parachute.
"These guys come from legends, they are practically Gods." Natasha explained further but Bucky still didn't stop.
"All the more reason to go, if Steve kicks his ass alone, he can say he beat up a god without me. If I go, I can say we beat him together. Besides, I doubt a god would dress like that." Bucky then ran and jumped out of the Pelican, searching for the light from Starks propulsion systems.
Natasha and Yelena just looked at each other and shook their heads.
"Boy's, are they always like this?" Yelena asked seriously which caused Natasha to laugh and begin turning the ship around.
"So who do you think would win? Thor or Adam?" Yelena asked as the ship banked to the left to turn around to find the others.
Meanwhile down on the ground on a high cliff side, Thor threw Loki to the ground, hard, just before landing himself.
"Where is the Tesseract?" Thor seriously asked his brother Loki as he groaned in pain on the ground.
"Hahaha...I missed you too." Loki said as he slowly picked himself up to face Thor.
"Do I look to be in a gaming mood?" Thor furiously asked as he paced around in frustration.
"With the Bifrost gone, how much dark energy did the All-Father have to muster to conjure you here, your precious Earth?" Loki asked with a smug smile, to which Thor dropped his hammer to the ground, a metallic ring resounded in the air as it hit the rocky ground.
Thor moved in close and grabbed Loki by the shoulders and looked into his face, "I thought you dead."
"Did you mourn?" Loki flatly asked in response.
"We all did, our father.."
"Your father... He did tell you about my true parentage did he not?" Loki stated as he pushed away from Thor's half hug, and began walking away. Thor was truly happy to see his brother alive.
"We were raised together, we played together, we fought together. Do you remember none of that?" Thor asked as he followed after, he couldn't believe what his brother was saying.
Loki who had continued to walk away finally stopped and turned to look at Thor and answered, "I remember a shadow, living in the shade of your greatness. I remember you tossing me into an abyss, I who was and should be king."
"So you take the world I love as recompense for your imagined slights? No, the Earth is under my protection Loki." Thor was truly beginning seeing just how mad his brother was, at Thor's response however Loki started laughing.
"Hahaha... and you're doing, a marvelous job with that. The humans slaughter each other in droves, while you idly fret. I mean to rule them, and why should I not?" Loki asked as he tried to explain to his brother his plans.
Thor couldn't help but shake his head, "You think yourself above them?"
"Well yes." Loki honestly replied, he truly did believe so, what he couldn't believe is that his brother would ask such an obviously stupid question.
"Then you miss the truth of ruling. Brother, the throne would suit you ill."Thor tried to reason with Loki, to impart to him what even he missed when their father Odin tried to teach them before being banished and stripped of his power over a year ago.
Loki angrily shoved Thor away and walked back up to the edge of the cliff, he then turned and faced his brother, "I've seen worlds you've never known about. I have grown Odinson," Loki spit out that name with venom laced in his voice, "in my exile I have seen the true power of the Tesseract and when I wield.."
"Who showed you this power? Who controls the would be king?" Thor cut in and was beginning to see that his brother couldn't be reasoned with at all, so he wanted to look for the source of trouble and then go handle whoever is turning his brother into what he is becoming.
"I AM A KING!!" Loki shouted back angrily.
Thor was done with this, he grabbed Loki trying to reason one last time with him, "NOT HERE! You give up the Tesseract, you give up this poisonous dream. Come home." Thor pleaded to Loki.
Loki smirked and scoffed at Thor's pathetic display, "I don't have it." Loki said with a shrug causing Thor to summon his hammer to his hand after backing away and preparing to attack.
Loki continued before Thor could attack which stopped Thor in his tracks, "You need the cube to bring me home but I've sent it off, I know not where."
"Listen well brother, I..." just then Tony and Steve both slammed into Thor at high speed knocking him off the side of the cliff, while the two followed after Thor, Loki was left at the cliff's edge all alone.
"I'm listening." Loki responded to the place Thor used to be standing.
Down at the bottom of the cliff, Thor groaned as he got out of a large crater he had created from his impact, he was seeing stars and his ears were ringing.
As his vision refocused he saw two men in front of him, one in a red and gold metal suit, the other in a red, white and blue outfit with matching shield.
"Don't touch me again." Thor spat angrily, he didn't like the fact that he was blindsided by these two, and he couldn't believe that he actually felt pain, a little bit, from the hit.
Tony's helmet opened and he replied, "Then don't take my stuff."
Thor wasn't one for diplomacy but he was trying to be better, after being banished to Earth and living the life of a mortal, ithad given him a new perspective, he saw his faults and wanted to not only be a better king but also a better man.
"You have no idea what you're dealing with." Thor wanted to explain but Tony wasn't having it.
"Uh...." Tony turned to Steve who just shrugged his shoulders, "Shakespeare in the Park? Doth mother know you wearith her drapes?" Tony said with his best old english impression.
Steve nodded his head, "Not bad, not bad." Tony responded back, "Really? I don't know, I may need to catch up on my old literature. How about you what you got for him?"
Thor was getting really irritated by now, he was doing his best to hold back and stay diplomatic, "This is beyond you Metal Man. Loki will face Asgardian justice."
"He gives up the cube he's all yours, until then.." Tony closed his helmet cause he could feel the tension rising and that it would come to a battle soon, "stay out of the way. Tourists."
Thor couldn't hold back longer and just as Tony turned to go retrieve Loki, Thor threw his hammer which hit Tony and continued on. He broke thru several large tree trunks one after the other.
Meanwhile Steve charged in and began to fight Thor but was hit hard in his gut which folded him in half, spit mixed with blood shot from Steve's mouth as he sailed backwards.
Tony had activated his boosters and shot out from in front of the hammer that seemed like it would've just continued on had he not escaped its grip. Tony shot back like an arrow and superman punched Thor right in the face causing Thor to slide backwards by a few yards.
Thor summoned his hammer back and just as Tony went to fly in for another hit, Thor summoned bolts of lightning which shot out from his hammer and struck Tony. His suit absorbed the energy and Jarvis called out in warning, "Reactor overcharged, dispersal of energy is required before the core is too heavily damaged."
Tony saw the energy gauge well above the safety limits, if he didn't expend it the core could explode, "Well what do you know." He then noticed Steve behind Thor and Bucky was coming in fast so using the uni-beam attack from his chest, he shot all the extra power right back to Thor who barely managed to dodge, however Steve took the uni-beam head on with his shield and angled to so the beam reflected and hit Thor knocking him in the direction Bucky was coming in from.
Bucky moved with uncanny speed, as if he was one with the forest. Seeing the man who attacked them earlier flying in his direction, a smile crept up on Bucky's face as he reached out with his metal arm and grabbed Thor by the face and wanted to face plant Thor head first into the ground.
However Thor was utterly pissed by now, as soon as Bucky grabbed out at him, Thor grabbed Bucky's wrist and yanked hard, ripping the metal arm from his body causing Bucky massive pain since the neural connectors were severed so suddenly.
Steve seeing this rushed forward to go on the attack, Thor dashed forward too, intent on smashing Steve with his hammer. Seeing Thor coming down fast with his hammer, Steve did the only thing he could think of which was raise his shield.
As soon as the hammer hit Steve's shield, a massive concussion wave emitted outwards, it threw everyone to the ground and leveled every tree in a hundred foot radius, with Captain America at its epicenter. Steve was still standing, but his arm holding the shield shook in pain and his feet had sunk several inches into the ground.
Steve seeing that Thor wasn't attacking, made his way over to Bucky to check on him. Not long after the Pelican landed and opened its hatch, inside Yelena was just shaking her head while she had Loki tied up like a worm on the floor.
While the men were fighting, Natasha and Yelena had noticed Loki and had subdued him once again, it wasn't very difficult since not only was Loki still handcuffed but he wasn't exactly trying to escape either. He wanted to be caught so he could better deal with the group that could hinder his plans the most.
He planned to use the Sceptre to manipulate their emotions, to drive a wedge between them, Clint had told him of most all the ones he's met before, and after seeing one of the ones he didn't know easily be defeated he lost any hesitation.
He had been watching the fight to see what the unknown man had, but seeing him easily taken out, any worries he had before evaporated. When he was first told of Adam a part of his mind was a little hesitant, but Loki had guessed that the two he didn't know were part of Adams team and assumed they too were from the future.
A small smile began to form as he watched Thor and the others board the ship after they discussed a truce and a cooperative partnership so that the Tesseract could be found. Thor agreed to join under the condition that Loki would return with him back to Asgard after everything was done.
Steve agreed under the condition that the cube would stay, even tho Thor didn't like it he reluctantly agreed.
They boarded the ship and returned to the helicarrier where Fury and the others awaited.
