Alright, its official i died... and apparently, i am in space unlike one of those fanfiction protagonists.
Those guys usually end up in the void between dimensions and get freed by some random entity.
I on the other end, am just floating in space. Much like the other souls around me.
Now, you guys must be curious and must be asking yourselves.
"How did this guy die?"
"Who is this fella?"
"How does he know we are here?!?"
Well, let me answer those queries.
Number one, i don't know staying in space must be taking away my consciousness little by little.
Some minor memories, from when i was alive are gone, but thankfully they are inconsequential.
I wager, they where the later memories.
Number two, my name isn't important i am probably going to choose another one later, and i was 25 before death, or at least that's what i remember, an average guy in every way mostly at least.
Number three, I don't.
It's just, that i have been here long enough to realise this is my new reality and that i have died.
To cope with the loneliness of my new existence as a constantly floating soul, i have decided to talk to myself like someone is actually listening.
Now that we've gotten that out of the way.
It's time to figure out, how to survive this. Because, i don't want to find out what happens after my soul is gone.
Alright, to start let's assess the current situation.
I am, a floating ghost like entity with two transparent arms and blurry legs.
I can see,but only about 5 m infront of me.
I can see, there are about 8 other souls apart from me, in this range.
I can also move, which is great.
The bad thing, is that apparently normal human souls after death seem to very slowly flake away until there is nothing left, At least that's my observation.
Apparently, me and my floating buddies out here have been floating away in space, for a very long time, because we are almost transparent.
Which brings us to the realization, that i may have died way later than 25 years old, but that is besides the point right now.
The point of our observation, was to find a way to stop or elongate this flaking away process, and i may just have found it.
You see, when i was around 15 years old i was an avid anime and videogame fan, and after 20 i started to get into manga, fanfiction and webnovels.
In those webnovels and fanfictions, there was a concept called cultivation where the various people in these novel worlds, would cultivate both body and soul to reach immortality and longevity.
Not only that, but in a certain fanfiction of a famous anime i don't remember ever watching.
There existed these soul creatures, called hollows that ate other souls to become stronger.
Of course, the bad thing about that method is that those guys didn't purify those souls in any way so they eventually became an amalgamation of differing wills that wanted nothing more than to eat other souls.
Now that i have exposed that knowledge, it seems appropriate that i find a way to put it into practice in some way.
The thing is, i want to put both methods together in a seemless way while getting rid of the apparent and not so apparent weaknesses.
My very own, soul cultivation method.
I would start getting rid of the weakness of the hollow method by purifying the spiritual energy of the consciousness from these souls before devouring them.
The spiritual energy that's been flaking away into the environment, is already puryified so there is no need for that, the only thing is that i don't seem to be able to absorbe it fast enough.
I may have to wait, until my soul is whole again to absorb it from the environment in any meaningful way.
Next and final step, i will need to create a way to track my progress in cultivation.

Ugh, the protagonists in those fanfictions never had to think about creating their own methods to cultivate they had a sect to learn from or a special power that they where gifted from a god , like a heavenly pearl with a goddess inside, an ineritance from their declined clan that used to be all-powerful or a system....

I have found the perfect solution, i have always wanted a system anyway after reading the gamer, why not create my own to keep track of my cultivation.
Of course, now i am not able to create a system window or anything, but i should be able of keeping track of my progress mentally.

Let's see, something simple to start.
I will need a progression system, why not use something like levels in this case soul levels.
Well i just started, and my soul isn't even the size of a normal human soul anymore, sooo me and my delicious floating exp buddies should be considered level zero souls while a normal human soul should be level one.
If we consider a level one soul to be let's say 100 soul energy units, then a level zero soul should be categorized by how many years of life they remember, in my case i possess 25 soul energy units since i remember 25 years of my life.
Therefore to begin true soul cultivation and enter level one, i should eat 75 soul energy units worth of souls.
And to become a level two soul i should eat another 100 seu (AN: seu = soul energy units) and have a total of 200 seu essentially becoming as strong as two souls combined.
Wonderful, now that i have figured out my soul cultivation technique, it should be given a name.

Yes, i know it's perfectly overbearing, its quite long like many tecnique names in cultivation novels and it spits on the effort of every other cultivator in existence.
