Chapter 182 - Chapter 180: A Choice

Origin and End.

The road they point out is Finality.

No words could explain the feeling I got the moment I found out about the Aeon of Finality. They were simply a mini-version of the Twilight Syndrome that we are facing. Only, it seems to have a spirituality—a consciousness of their own. That was the reason why I kept watching the Twilight Syndrome on our side.

As it stands, this pure black space is inviolable. There isn't any other loophole except for the one thought out by us—the God Kings with the power of a [World].

It was simply an enemy with no available weaknesses.

"The world's fate stands. You shall make your final decision soon, Revelations."

After Zeus, the next God King who greeted me was a man in an eyepatch. A metal scepter was present on his right hand.

The mighty Allfather of the seven realms, Odin.

Knowing that He should have also gone through everything that I investigated, Odin should not have found a way different from mine.

After all, we both have the power of omniscience.

"You stay or leave, I shalln't force you." He said. "If it is the latter, do take care of the world in our stead."

Seeing these beings with the full intention to sacrifice themselves, all for the sake of this world…

It is a shocking choice, but there aren't any left.

If we didn't fight, it would not only be the majority of humanity. The entire world itself is affected, thus the damage isn't limited to the physical world.

The worst case that I 'saw' was the destruction of the entire Spirit Realm. Once it falls, the physical world isn't far from there.

At most, it would take a thousand years for everything to collapse. The worst case was one hundred years.

In the end, all possible choices in front of us aren't truly 'choices', but dead-ends.

Only by the means of sacrifice could the 'true ending' be reached.

"There is no use. I will stay."

Of course, I had no intention of backing down.

"I see."

With a simple nod, He headed towards the darkness. The Finality Space itself has an effect of 'isolation' that separates everyone. Only when they made their entrance would they 'pass by' me. It is something that I verified after countless victories and defeats.

Everyone would fight their own battles… alone.

This was but one of the ways in which [End] tries to screw us over.

'What does Finality have… and why was it weaker?'

Despite the fact that the reinforcements are arriving, I am still stuck at this conundrum.

The Twilight Syndrome is the enemy of the world—its natural death given form. ITs invincible state was due to the world's tendency of being as objective as possible. It did not tilt against beings such as devils and abominations.

The End is the End; that's it.

Its lack of concept and objectivity was the prime reason it was this strong. It was, to say the least, unimaginable to most living beings present.

Facing such an abstract concept, everyone was helpless.

It was the same as asking a mortal to 'kill' the concept of 'space'. The amount of confusion the mortal would have could be easily imagined.

'That final moment… That time… What did I miss..?'

*****

In the depths of the bluish-black space, there lies the 'final miracle' of the world. Hatsune Miku was something created by the hands of Nobu, yet she turned out to be the 'solution' created by the world.

An entity wielding the power to 'cement' the one true outcome of this world. She has the ability to 'seal' the ending, to make it unchangeable. No matter what the End might do, it could no longer affect it once the ending was 'sealed'.

"The true ending… how much was lost…"

Floating on her palms was a grayish-white light. A familiar voice resonated from it. Although the other Nobu had fallen from that final battle, a trace of him was left. However, it is nothing but a spark that would go out at any time.

Every [Worlds] could do it, but it seems useless. It would not be able to 'affect' the world through direct means. If they died in person, what could a small trace do?

Nevertheless…

"Are you going to do it?"

The white light spoke as it 'looked' at Miku.

"It is possible. This iteration is the most special one… the one with the greatest hopes of achieving the best ending."

As if it knew what Miku was about to do, the white light simply gave its blessings.

"You could treat it as fulfilling your regrets."

"...Goshujin-sama."

Songs contain one's earnest feelings, or at least that's how she believes it.

No matter what happens in the end, it is something far beyond their grasp.

Still…

In another world…

In another place where everything was truly fine…

One devoid of any conflicts; a so-called paradise.

She hopes to reach them.

*****

"I'm sorry you had to deal with that version of me."

The third visitor was one of the supreme gods within the Spirit Realm, Vishnu. Though he bears the authority of destruction, he did not push away life. The two opposites do not repulse but merely attract, or so they say.

The tenth calamity, Kalki, was an event brought down by one of Vishnu's incarnations. It was manifested through the Twilight Syndrome, hence even the god himself did not have a choice in this regard.

"It's no big deal. We weren't hurt much by it."

"I see."

I don't know what revolves around the gods I met, but they are far more detached with the concept of mortality. It was an inevitable thing. Just as how the Aeons were affected by their [Paths] (authorities), the gods of my world could not completely escape it.

"You have come to a decision, no?" He asked.

"Yes. It does look like it."

"Take care."

His presence was a fleeting one. With the support of three [Worlds], the force I am withstanding became far lighter than before. Coupled with the fact that I may be the strongest "Nobu" out of every parallel world I have seen, it is natural for me to preserve my prime state longer.

This gave me the time to 'think' more about it. Several more 'gods' appeared within this space, totalling to nine God Kings present.

'So many hypotheses, yet no chances to prove them.'

While I made a thorough preparation, my 'simulation' was limited. My target was the unreadable End, thus there are many 'blank spots' despite all the prior knowledge from all the other iterations.

Just then, a thought spontaneously appeared in my mind.

"No, it's…"

Scratch that.

It was a 'part' of myself preserved after the End. It is the "Nobu" of the parallel world I visited, and the one with the best endings out of all the possibilities I have seen.

"The power of the world serves as the origin. If so, it is correct to consider that the finality is the end."

These two…

They are mutual..!

Meaning to say, this was the other loophole that I missed upon..!

Doubts began to appear in my mind.

Why was this information only made available now?

I stared at the endless darkness in front of me.

This transmission just now should have alerted the other gods within this space.

If so…

Everything was clear.

"Will this… no, everyone will be forced to accept it."

*****

Only [Worlds] could affect [Worlds]. This is an ironclad rule that has been tested since the conception of the world. Other [Worlds] may spy or hide information against other [Worlds].

For the sake of safety, the other Nobu's 'plan' was not carried out until now.

After all…

It concerns the ten God Kings of their world.

Their numbers alone dwarf most worlds. It could be seen within Tenkai which only had three of such beings. Even the world of Aeons did not exceed four.

For such beings, the other Nobu carried out his plans in utmost secrecy. It was only when the time was ripe did he release it.

"Since you made your decision, I will fully support you."

The gray orb of light atop Miku's palms flickered. Its brilliance was becoming weaker, as if it had already fulfilled its purpose.

"Its inviolability resulted from our world itself. If it wasn't extremely objective, the Twilight Syndrome would have had an exploitable weakness or two.

Imagine if the [End] was in the form of a dragon. Anti-dragon magic would have a greater effect on it rather than nothing at all. The same would happen if it took the form of a devil, phoenix, or any other mystical beast or creature.

That time, defeating it would have been on sight.

Unfortunately, it did not work like this… up until now.

Nobu's plan was very simple. With Miku's [power], she could make decisions on behest of the entire world, albeit only partially. This limited authority would then be used to transfer the 'role' of the world into the participating [God Kings].

In fact, this was what happened throughout most probabilities. The God Kings took the role of the world and took the direct blow of the End for it, in turn preventing any damage by the Twilight Syndrome to the world.

What was different now, however, was the fact that they could force the [End] to take on the form of something—to give it a weakness.

Then again, there was a catch.

There could only be one [World]. Since there were eleven [Worlds] in total, it became a problem.

Only one God King/World Magister could take on the role, but the power of a single God King/World Magister was lacking. They were already having trouble with the eleven of them, what more when there was only one?

Thus, the only choice was to condense all of their power to one [World].

Within all eleven [Worlds], only Nobu and He had enough power to withstand the powers of other [Worlds].

As to whether they would agree or not, that question was already resolved when the other Nobu kept it hidden up until this moment.

"Get ready. This would be the last out of all."

Miku nodded. This was the first time she gathered the strength beyond one [Miku].

At this moment, she was gathering all the wishes and regrets of all Mikus throughout all parallel worlds!

"I wish you goodluck…"

Soon, the gray orb faded into nonexistence. Only Miku's presence illuminated this empty space.

******

Well…

As expected of my other self.

He took advantage of our situation… mainly our relationship with the world's final miracle, Miku.

As to why he did it, I have an idea.

'Taking advantage of this moment to transcend all endings…'

There is a level beyond my current level. I have only seen the hints through the Aeon of Finality, though it is small.

If I could 'borrow' the strength of ten [Worlds] and directly confront or even resolve the Twilight Syndrome…

Hum-!

The dark space was disturbed by the appearance of one God Kings after another. One glance was all it took to see nine God Kings with respectable statuses.

As for the missing one, it is Him.

Up until now, He had not made His appearance.

"Let us not waste time. Who are we going to pass it on to?"

Odin was the first one to speak up. He took a glance at me and gave a thin smile. This should be for the 'plan' that my other self created.

The sound of a fan flapping resounded.

A woman with golden hair and nine fox tails, Amaterasu.

"For the youngest to do this, there must be something else."

She silently looked towards me.

While this was unexpected to even me, I am more than willing to take responsibility.

"The original ending of dying for the world… there's a chance for it to be changed. We may all live. That's what this choice offers."

These words were more than enough. The other gods fell silent, but a good majority of them had positive reception towards it.

"I do believe it is time to let the young ones take the lead." Odin said with a laugh. "His lack of presence here already indicates His support towards Revelations. Do we have any other choice?"

He… the Abrahamic God and I are the only two who could accommodate the power of numerous [Worlds]. My own situation was caused by a mutation towards the Holy Grail which granted me the ability to contain 'everything'.

As for Him, there's no need for further explanations. The Holy Grail itself was based on His existence, thus He is also capable of it.

Though, His support…

I have an idea as to why He did it.

Seeing the collective silence head towards a single answer, the ending to this entire fight drew even nearer.
