"H-Hey Cardan d-do you kn-know what's up with Easton?" Remy whispered as soon as he managed to get away from a more grumpy than usual Easton.
Quickly glancing at Easton Cardan already had a guess and it may have something to do with Noa's visit last two weeks ago plus he started acting like this after that day if that wasn't much indication.
"I really don't care to know as long as he does his job" Cardan replied as he fixed his waist coat. He was wearing long black trousers a black a long white sleeved shirt and a black bow tie. It was made by him by boss Dai. It was the uniform that all the employees would be wearing and this also led to him asking boss Dai how to sew. He needed all the skills he could get to make money.
"A-as lon-long as he do-doesn't cause any mistakes than" Remy murmured soon after as he looked at Easton worriedly.
Bumping his shoulder with mine changes the topic hoping to distract him "Enough about him are you nervous about today after all it is your first sports festival and that as of the cater team of the whole event"
Visiblelly shaking Remy replied "N-No m-me scar-scared o-of a b-it of more exposure hahahaha" a nervous laugh left his lips after he finished "Wh-What about y-you though y-you do-don't see-seem nerv-ous at-at all?" Remy added as his eyes darted around.
Good question it's because I've been trained for such events and I've attended ones with higher stakes.
Instead I said "It's because I don't think about it I just go with the flow. Out of mind out of sight."
Nodding as if taking down my words and burning them into his brain he opened his lips to say something only to be called by one of the waiters nodding at him Cardan watched him disappear and soon after he left the kitchen hall inside the small soccer stadium to catch some air. It would be wear the event would be held.
But luck seemed to not be on his side as he spotted Wren with whom wouldn't you guess Austin.
Rubbing his face in frustration Cardan regretted deciding to not going ahead with the revenge, for now at least.
Today would be nothing but fun and relaxing. Cardan was saying that but why did it feel like he was unconsciously raising a death flag.
Glancing at his watch he knew that the event would begin with the principal and the physical education teacher (who coached every sports team at school) joined by an old man with a receding hairline.
Turning away slowly Cardan returned back to work as people began entering the stadium that was divided into five sections. A soccer, basketball ball and athletics section as well as the food section.
Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and the restaurant hands where super busy and yet Cardan still couldn't take his eyes off Austin he didn't know what it came from but he had a hunch something bad would happen and it would involve him.
"A-Arent y-you suppos-ed to be watc-hing Noa's game by now" Remy said as if reminding him if his promise which also made him look away from Austin for a while before returning back his gaze which Remy followed.
"O-or di-did yo-you cha-nge you min-d and deci-ded to watch the drama perf-orm-ance that will be displayed tonight."Remy said as his gaze landed on Wren instead of Austin.
Before Cardan could even say anything Remy added"I thou-thought you lik-liked Noa, or wa-s I wro-ng and you act-ually like that girl" Remy finished as his head nodded towards her a look of disgust took over Cardan's face.
"Her! of all people not even if she was the last woman on earth. And I wasn't looking at her I was keeping an eye on Austin." Cardan replied a twisted expression on his face.
"Au-Aust-in?" Remy voiced out before adding"I'm also so-rry for assu-ming."
Waving his hand Cardan replied "It's not your fault I know you meant no harm and Austin is someone I can't allow myself to look away from." Looks like I'll just have to miss Noa and Zade's game Cardan thought.
Remy's eyes widened before responding "I'll w-at-ch Au-st-in for you-"
"Remy that's sweet and all but-"
"N-no b-uts ju-st g-go a-nd it's your bre-ak" Remy stated as he pushed me out.
"Fine but I'll be back quickly just becareful and don't let him see you" Cardan reminded before leaving.
'I really hope I don't regret this' Cardan internally thought.
But Cardan's nightmare came to reality after receiving a call that would leave him in guilt and wanting revenge.
