Chapter 83 - Chapter 83

*************************************

One year later: She stood outside the restaurant waiting for Ryan to arrive for their lunch date. A year of going through so many pregnancy tests this morning one finally read positive. He had left so early this morning for a meeting before she took the test and was excited to tell him. She looks up from her phone when she hears her name being called out. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up when she saw him standing in front of her.

"Ria, wow it's been years. You look even more beautiful than I remember." He moved closer, putting his hands on her shoulders. "I've missed you, I thought about you over the years, about how good things were between us."

"Get your hands off me," she hissed at him.

"Don't be this way. Let's go somewhere quiet to catch up."

"No, now get your hands off me."

Ryan appeared out of nowhere and looking at the man's hands that were on his wife he bared his teeth. "Take your hands off her now unless you want me to break them."

"Who the hell are you?" he asked, letting go of her.

"I'm her husband, and who are you?"

"I'm an old friend."

"He's Phil," she said when Ryan looked at her.

"Phil, as in your ex?"

She nods.

He looks at Phil and smiles. "I've been waiting years to do this," he said, raising his fist punched him in the mouth.

"You think you're a big man by smacking a woman around. I suggest you get the hell out of here and stay away from my wife or I'll do more than punch you."

Turning to her he cupped her face in his hands. "Are you alright, did he hurt you?"

"No, I'm fine."

"Are you sure? you look a little pale."

"I'm just really hungry, can we go inside and have something to eat?"

Putting his arm around her waist he walks into the restaurant with her, looking around to make sure Phil had left. He raised an eyebrow when she asked for sparkling water with a slice of lemon instead of her usual glass of wine. Then when she ordered the baby back ribs and glazed baby carrots he started getting suspicious.

"Oh, can I also get a side order of baby roasted potatoes?" she asked, getting a strange look from the waiter.

Staring at her he had to ask. "Are you trying to tell me something with all this baby stuff, baby potatoes, back ribs?" he asked, smiling.

"I was wondering when you were going to catch on," she said, taking the pregnancy test from her purse, placing it on the table sliding it over towards him.

Squeezing his eyes shut for a second to stop the tears from falling he got up and went over to her, getting on his knees before her. "You have made me the happiest man alive and I swear to you I will love and protect you both forever."

Placing the palm of her hand against his cheek she also shed a tear. "I love you so much, and remember, I want more than one so you better be prepared for the pitter patter of little feet running around. Getting into your stuff, making a mess and not to mention all the crying."

"The more the better," he said, getting up kissed her passionately, not giving a damn they were in a restaurant full of people.

Breaking the kiss she giggled. "As nice as this kiss is I really need to eat, we can finish this later when we get home. Since I'm pregnant I expect the full treatment, no quickie."

"Don't worry sweetheart, I plan on doing everything.

Eight months later they were settled into their new home and waiting for the arrival of their twins. Which having twins came as a big surprise to both of them, but a good surprise. She had stopped working long ago, making sure he had hired a male assistant. Life was perfect, Robbie and Nelly were a big part of their lives. As for the in-laws they were still cold towards the wives but adored their grandchildren.
