The sun travels slowly as he tries to hide behind the mountain.
The rays of reddish sunlight scattered around, which makes everything look better.
Cyril is standing outside watching a group of knights carrying heavy baggage and weapons, leaving for the battlefield.
There are many wounded soldiers on the side of the road. Some are still moaning and groaning in pain. Others are trying their best to move forward despite having multiple stab wounds in their chest and limbs.
"Why are they going to battle instead of getting treated like normal injured warriors? They're going to die if they fight more. Why do they have to suffer more?" questioned Cyril to nobody in particular.
"Your Highness," said a knight behind him.
Cyril turns around to see him.
"Everything set, Shall we leave now?" asks the knight.
"Before that, I have a question," Cyril stated, "Why must injured warriors must be included in the battle?"
"That was the King's order, " The knight answered.
"Ah, I see, now listen to my new order. I don't want the injured warriors in the battle so send them back to their homes and give them special treatment" Cyril said calmly.
"But, Your Highness...."
Cyril glares at the knight before he finishes speaking.
"y-yes, sir" The knight quickly ran away.
Then Cyril starts to walk back to the royal palace where his beloved awaits.
" Amandine" Cyril called softly when he saw the princess.
Amandine looks like she hasn't slept much or eaten much lately. Her cheeks were sunken in. She turns and smiles sadly. Her tears fell down her cheeks once again.
"Are you really going to fight in the war?" She asked weakly.
Cyril nodded lightly. She hugged him tight while crying again. Cyril held her close and comforted her.
When she calmed down slightly, Cyril wiped the tears from her face using his thumb. He looked straight into her watery eyes and cupped her face in his hands.
"It will be alright, my love. It's all going to be okay" reassured Cyril with a smile, hoping she'd believe him.
"It'll be fine, my love" he repeated himself.
She nods. Then she stood on her tiptoes and gave him a peck on his lips.
"I should get going now, Allow me?" he asked after taking a moment to breathe, smiling tenderly at her.
"Go ahead," Amandine replied softly wiping away her remaining tears.
With that, Cyril walks away with his troops heading towards the battleground.
He then turns back to look at the Palace to make sure everything is prepared for the upcoming war. He sighed silently.

After a long time, the sun has risen and the battle is about to begin. The enemy army is getting closer by the minute.
Both of the armies are ready for battle. A loud horn blows signaling that the battle has officially started.
Cyril was standing in the front line where the King was supposed to stand. In fact, King Zander stays at the palace with every possible excuse he can find.
Everyone knew that King Zander was a coward. This battle is completely in Cyril's hands. The future of the Cosmos Empire is also dependent on Cyril now.
That means, even though King Zander doesn't support Cyril, Cyril will still win.
After all, he is the leader of the army and he knows the enemy better than anyone else in the Cosmos Empire.
He is confident that he will definitely defeat the enemy army.
"Let us commence the attack!" exclaimed Cyril loudly.
"Attack!" echoed all the army soldiers in unison.
Cyril raised his sword high above his head.
"Charge!", roared everyone.
The soldiers charged forward to battle the opposing army.
They clashed with each other. The clashing swords created sparks of electricity as sparks flew all over the place. The clash of steel sounded throughout the whole battlefield.
Arrows flew everywhere, hitting many unfortunate enemies and sending them flying across the battlefield.
Many men were bleeding heavily and dying on the ground. Some of the enemy soldiers managed to take cover behind tree trunks and boulders.
The battle continued day after day. The two sides battled each other endlessly. Every time his army tried to gain an advantage, a strong gust of wind came and knocked it aside.
It would take hours to regain its balance. It was easy for enemies. It seems like the enemies got some kind of dark magic.
After a week had passed, his army was already exhausted. They have been fighting for days. They're being attacked continuously.
Their attacks had been getting stronger by the second. Sooner or later, they will break through and end this war quickly.
However, Cyril did not know where the enemy army kept coming from. It seemed like the enemy army had infinite warriors hidden themselves somewhere.
"We need to find another way. They've taken every advantage they got to throw us off, guard. We have to retreat and make another tactic" Cyril said as he sat on a boulder.
His generals all agreed with him.
"If we attack again, we might lose more men," one of the generals said.
Cyril nodded as he agreed with him.
"You're absolutely right. But let's not give up yet" said Cyril.
"I agree with His Highness," another general said.
Everyone agreed.
Cyril rose from his seat.
"Now then, let's regroup for a short rest period. Tomorrow will be our last battle. Tomorrow, everything will be determined."
Everyone dispersed.
Cyril went back to his tent and started writing a letter. The letter was for his beloved Amandine. Cyril has decided that he is going to fight until the end even if he will die in the battle.
" My dear Amandine, I promise I will try my best for you. And I will make sure I bring victory along with me. I don't have much time so I will stop the letter here. Stay strong and be proud of me
yours, Cyril Van de Veld " he signed the letter and ended it.
He then put it into an envelope and left it on the wooden table.
After finishing everything he needed to do, he decided to sleep for a while. it has been a long time since he rested for the last time.
Cyril gently closed his eyes while sitting on a chair, hoping he would fall asleep.
Cyril was alone in the tent. The surrounding was quiet.
While he was about to fall asleep, he felt a sudden sharp pain in his back. He felt like something was growing from his back.
To be continued...
