The wall separating the monsters from the participants dropped and the door dividing the participants to the course also opened, rushing the participants through the course.
"Get outta my way extras!!!" Virgil shouted out as he used 100% of his Overall sigma to jump over the other participants lifting Veronica and Tyrone as he leapt over them. Right before the trio landed, Tyrone used his Sigma to help the other two over the first obstacle which was a large brick wall almost touching the ceiling.
"We need to fit through that small gap?" Virgil asked in annoyance.
"I'll throw you guys through the gap, Virgil! try and catch Veronica before you land" Tyrone ordered.
"Gotcha!" Virgil retorted, and so, Tyrone threw the two individuals with all his might towards the gap and with some maneuvering from Virgil, they were able to fit through and reached the other side of the brick wall.
"400 participants have been eliminated, 845 participants remaining" The robotic voice said.
The two were falling down the brick wall, Virgil excited that they were able to fit through but the victory they had was short lived when a mysterious partyicipant in a dark cloak teleported through the brick wall, shocking Veronica, and using a needle to hit a pressure point on Virgil's neck, making him fall unconscious.
"Let's see you try to hide your power now, Princess" The mysterious participant said as he teleported away from the course.
"No no no no no no!! what do I do? what do I do?" Veronica panicked. They were fast approaching the hard ground and Veronica knew there was no other choice but to use "it"...
Behind the brick wall however, Tyrone is facing off against a C-Rank Psychic Tyrant, a monster that possesses incredible psychic abilities. The two faced off in the sky as other participants climbed over the wall to the other side which meant more competition for his friends.
"Tch! I can't waste time on this thing, I need to help my friends" Tyrone thought, turning back and aiming for the brick wall but instantly he felt a force restricting him from flying any further as he almost reached the gap.
"LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!" A huge wave of energy was generated from Tyrone's body, releasing him from the grip of the C-Rank Monster, shocking the man watching over the Exam and building his interest in Tyrone. He flew back over the brick wall and directly on the ground he saw Veronica and Virgil lying on the ground, with Veronica hugging Virgil tightly as blood oozed from her forehead.
Tyrone, scared of what he was witnessing quickly flew down and checked up on the duo.
"What the hell happened to you two?" Tyrone asked.
"Take... her.. away..." the faint voice of Virgil said to Tyrone.
"I can't... continue further" he added.
"I'm not leaving you behind!" Tyrone shouted out as he carried both of them on his shoulder and used his energy blasts to propel himself back up into the air but at a tremendous cost.
"200 participants have been eliminated" The announcement sounded.
Virgil opened his left eye to see that monsters were rushing out through the gap of the brick wall, and he knew that they would catch up with them if Tyrone didn't go any faster.
"Tyrone..."
"What's wrong Virgil?" Tyrone said as a look of tiredness and worry could be seen on his face.
"Become a hero for me..." Were the final words Virgil said as he pushed himself off of Tyrone's shoulder causing Tyrone to shout out to him.
"I can always try again next year... like I always have..." Virgil said with his eyes closed, accepting his fate.
[It is seen that for 5 years now, Tyrone and Virgil have been taking the Mfantsipim test over and over again with the results being the same as always; Virgil gets into trouble causing Tyrone to help him, and they get eliminated in that way but throughout the years, Virgil started to feel his inferiority to Tyrone and made a choice to make sure that his best friend made it to the end this time around.]
"So you'll just let your get shattered?" A voice said to Virgil deep within his mind.
"All your hard work, flushed down the drain, Ha! such a failure you are"
"I don't care, Helsing, I'll just take the test next year" Virgil responded
"You know you could've been stronger than this if you just embraced me?"
"No, I want to become a hero with my own strengths and nothing will stop me from accomplishing that"
" Let me tell you this Destro, Your friend passes this test and moves on to the school of his choice, you'll have to wait for an extra year at home doing nothing without your so called "best friend" as he gets closer and closer to becoming a powerful hero with his great potential and God sigma, have you forgotten the promise?" Helsing, the inner voice of Virgil explained to him.
Then a flashback of Tyrone and Virgil as children holding pinkies crossed through his mind, rekindling his spirit and finally accepting the power of his inner demon.
"Helsing... I accept your power and make it mine" hitting the ground with monsters swarming his body after he said that...
