A MILLION SORRY'S CAN'T HEAL THE HUGE WOUND IN YOUR HEART - unknown
Day ten
It's been ten days since I ran away, ran away from home. It's been ten days since I've eaten a proper meal, but I still have some money on me. But I don't want to waste it on food. I'm still in the hotel I found in the middle of nowhere, they have good customer service, but the foods are expensive.
I've only got limited amount of clothing, so I wash and wear the same clothes as much as I can. I think its time I start the journey from here to the nearest town, hopefully I find some place to stay or to sleep one night.
As Nia closes the journal a single tear drops on the cover from her eyes as tear keep pooling in her eyes. She's looks devastated from not having enough sleep in ten days, no one can blame her running away from an abuser of a father, but having to leave behind her loved ones. Nia has two siblings, an elder sister Maya, and a younger brother Samuel and leaving them with an abusive father hurts her more than anything. Even though her father wasn't abusive towards them but towards their mother, she couldn't take living in the same house as that man. She hates him more than anything, she left the house to study without the problem her father gives her , her siblings and her mother. She has enough money that she stole from her father's purse, her father has a decent job and loads of money, so she didn't think much of it. She's planing on using that money to join a school, so Nia has not been selfish and used the money on food. As she checks out of the hotel, she couldn't help but wonder what her mother must be going through, her mother is an accountant who makes a decent amount of money every month, to Nia her mother is the most independent, strong and beautiful woman she's ever known, and she's very lucky to have her. And now as she is no longer at home she feels extremely sad and anxious. Her mother was her only source of comfort, because she suffers from anxiety and now she's all alone in the middle of nowhere.
She walks out of the building with a big sigh, squints her eyes and the bright sun blinds her sight, it's eight in the morning and she hasn't eaten anything but drank only water. To her right there is a small bus stop with two big wooden bench, and to her left there is a restaurant with a bunch of people eating, chatting and laughing and her tummy starts grumbling, but she pushed down her hunger not sure if the money she will have left be enough to rent a small apartment and to buy some things to keep around the house, she knows that as soon as she finds a small town and a small apartment she'll have to find a job and get into school. So she pushed all her hunger and emotions away and walked to the bus stop and places her two bags filled with her stuff down on the wooden bench and sat beside it, waiting for a bus to catch.
The sound of heavy pouring rain could be heard inside the very lonely but cozy bus. Because of the thunder storm, the sky looked in a very dark grey colour, the sun hidden behind the dark sky, it can so easily be considered the night.
Inside of the big blue bus, there were only a few passengers, and most of them were young people, the others were middle aged parents with kids. Nia sat at the very front of the bus where it was quite, but still can hear the sound of music that's coming from the front where the driver seat is, the faint sound of the music, people snoring, and kids laughing are practically leaves falling from trees because of the heavy rain sound drumming on the roof of the bus. The sound brought comfort to Nia although she'd much prefer a hug from someone.
She's been stuck in the bus for more than two hours, and to make it worse they've been surrounded by forest the whole journey. No sight of a town or any stop sign around the place. The bus came to an holt, on an empty highway surrounded by the forest.
The smell of dark green after the rain felt like she just took a nice cold shower, the feeling of freedom at last consumed her and wrapped it's self around her, making her tear up. As tears runs down her wet cheeks, all she could do is smile slightly.
The journey just started.....
