Natsu just announced to the guild that he proposed to Luna and that she accepted his marriage proposal. They all surrounded the two of them, congratulating them on their engagement. After things died down a bit, the girls of Fairy Tail stuck around Luna and stared at her with anticipation.
"What?" Luna said to her female friends.
"So when is the wedding?" Erza asked Luna who paused for a second.
"You know, Natsu and I haven't really talked about that yet." Luna answered her.
"You're gonna have a bachelorette party, right?" Lucy said with an excited tone. Luna again paused.
"I'd love to but I don't have any good ideas on what to do for one." Luna said as Levy approached the three girls.
"How does a day and night at the beach sound for a bachelorette party?" Levy suggested as Luna's face brightened at the idea.
"That sounds great!" Luna said as all the girls got excited and started giggling. She then excused herself to go talk to Natsu about when the wedding will be so she can set up a date for the bachelorette party. She found him hanging around the Fairy Tail guys.
"Natsu, can we chat for a bit? It's important." Luna asked him.
"Excuse me fellows, but it appears I need to talk to my mate about something." Natsu said to the guys as he went with Luna just outside the guild hall.
"What is it Crystal?" Natsu asked, using Luna's nickname.
"When are we getting married?" Luna asked Natsu. It came out more urgent sounding than she meant it.
"Eager aren't we?" Natsu chuckled as Luna blushed.
"W-well I wanted to know because the girls and I want to plan a bachelorette party and I can't set a date up for it until I know when the wedding is gonna be." Luna said putting her two index fingers together. Natsu thought for a minute.
"Hmm let's see... How about August 27?" Natsu suggested a random day. Luna gave him a surprised look.
"That's less than a month away! Most couples wait about a year or so after getting engaged to get married. I'm beginning to think the eager one is you." Luna said as Natsu chuckled again.
"I can't help it. I'm engaged to the woman I've loved since childhood. Besides, can you really blame me? It's been eight years since we turned eighteen. I've held back my mating instincts for the past seven years, and finally got to mate with you this year. Of course I can't wait to get married to you." Natsu said, gently grabbing Luna's hands in his and lovingly pressing his forehead to hers.
"Oh Natsu..." Luna said, relishing the tender moment. Natsu eventually pulled away from her forehead, but still held onto her hands.
"So what do you think about the wedding date?" Natsu asked Luna.
"I think that'll work fine." Luna said as she planted a kiss on Natsu's lips.
"Perfect! Let's let everyone in the guild know." Natsu said as he led Luna back into the guild. They announced their wedding date to their guild mates. After that, Luna met with the girls to plan the bachelorette party.
"Wow, you guys are moving along quite fast, aren't you? We're gonna have to have this bachelorette beach party pretty much right away." Lucy said with a smile, clapping Luna on the back. The girls then started to discuss and plan the beach party. They decided on the date August 9 at the Akane Beach Resort. Luna also chose her bridesmaids as well. She chose Lucy, Erza, Juvia, and Levy. Meanwhile, the Fairy Tail guys were planning Natsu's bachelor party. Coincidentally, the guys decided on August 9 as well for the day of the bachelor party at a bowling alley bar.
~Time Skip~
It was August 9 and Luna and all the Fairy Tail girls arrived at the Akane Beach Resort. When they got there, they all changed into their swimsuits. Luna looked in the mirror of her dressing room. She had just bought a new white bikini with a red banding and a large white sunhat for herself. This was her first time wearing a bikini, only wearing one pieces or tankinis prior to this trip. When she exited the changing room, all the girls were waiting for her. Erza and Lucy approached her first.
"This isn't too revealing is it?" Luna asked the group, blushing a little.
"Not at all! That bikini looks really good on you Luna!" Lucy said as Erza nodded in agreement.
"Yeah you look really cute Luna." Wendy complimented Luna.
"I bet Natsu would be fawning all over you if he saw you right now." Cana said with a mischievous look on her face, making Luna blush as she thought about Natsu's reaction to seeing her in her bikini.
"I wish my darling Gray would fawn over me." Juvia said with disappointment.
"Anyways, lets stop standing around and have some fun!" Lucy said as the girls all cheered.
"Hey how about we have a race across the beach from here to that volley ball net in the distance. Here are the rules: magic is allowed but only to advance, no hitting your opponents with magic or using it to slow them down. Sound good?" Luna suggested as the girls all nodded in agreement. They lined up preparing to race each other. Some of them used different forms. Mirajane changed into her Satan Soul form, Lisanna transformed into a cheetah girl, Erza requipped into her flight armor, Elise, Carla and Evergreen sprouted their wings, and both Wendy and Luna activated their dragon force forms.
"Last one to the net is a wingless fairy!" Luna shouted as the girls all took off towards the volley ball net a ways down the beach. Luna was in the lead, flapping her wings vigorously. Erza, Wendy, and Mirajane were close behind. Lucy, Cana, and Levy were bringing up the rear. They all raced fiercely, the other guests on the beach staring at the intense race in awe, especially the males. When the race was over, the results went as followed from first to last: Luna, Erza, Wendy, Mirajane, Carla, Evergreen, Lisanna, Juvia, Lucy, Cana, and Levy.
"Wow Luna, you're fast." Wendy said as she panted.
"Well she is the strongest female mage in Fairy Tail. It's no surprise she's the fastest too." Erza said, placing her hand on Luna's shoulder.
"What should we do next?" Wendy asked as Luna looked at the volley ball net they were next to.
"How about a few rounds of volley ball? No magic this time. We don't want to destroy the ball." Luna suggested as the girls all agreed. They split up into two teams of five, Carla being the referee. Luna and Erza were the team captains. It was Luna, Lucy, Mirajane, Wendy, and Lisanna against Erza, Juvia, Evergreen, Cana, and Levy. They decided to play five rounds, the team who won the most rounds would emerge victorious. Luna's team won three out of five rounds, winning the first, third, and fifth round. Once they were done playing volley ball they swam in the ocean, had water gun fights and lazily floated on inner tubes. Then they headed to the resort and went to the water park to go on the water slides, play in the wave pool, and relax in the lazy river. After they had enough of the water park, they changed into fancy clothes and headed to the casino to check it out.
"You should try playing the slot machine Luna." Cana suggested to Luna. She looked at her with uncertainty.
"I don't know. I heard people lose a lot of money playing those things." Luna said as Cana placed her hand on her shoulder.
"C'mon, just try it once. It's only 100 jewel for one spin." Cana said, nudging her towards the nearest slot machine.
"Okay fine. I guess 100 jewel isn't that much." Luna said as she went to the exchange machine next to the slot machine to exchange 100 jewel for a token to play. She inserted the token and pulled the lever. The girls crowded around Luna, watching with anticipation as the five reels on the slot machine spun. One by one, the reels stopped. All the icons that lined up at the payline matched. She won the jackpot of 1,000,000 jewel on her first try. All the girls' eyes widened.
"Wow Luna! You won the jackpot on your first try! You should go again to see if you can win more." Lucy said excitedly.
"I think I'll just take what I got from this spin. I don't want to develop a habit of gambling. But you're welcome to try it if you want." Luna said as Lucy shook her head.
"No thanks. I've got rent to pay soon so I can't afford to gamble." Lucy said as Luna studied her expression. It seemed she really wanted to, but didn't want to take the financial risk.
"Fine, I'll go one more time. If I win anything, you can have it." Luna said to Lucy who's expression lit up at her kindness.
"Really? Okay, thanks! You're the best!" Lucy said, giving Luna a tight hug. Luna went over to the exchange machine and put in another 100 jewel for a token. She inserted the token in the slot machine and pulled the lever again. She didn't get the jackpot again but she did end up winning 350,000 jewel.
"Are you sure I can have all that?" Lucy asked Luna who nodded her head. Lucy practically burst into tears of joy.
"Thank you so much! That covers exactly five months of rent." Lucy said with gratitude as she hugged Luna again. Cana went over to the exchange machine, buying 100 tokens which cost her 10,000 jewel.
"Let me try!" Cana said as Luna got up from the seat to let her friend try it out. Cana inserted her token and pulled the lever. Unfortunately, she didn't win anything.
"I think Luna might have used up the last of the luck this machine had in it." Evergreen said as Cana frowned, groaning frustratingly.
"I still have 99 tokens left. I'm gonna win something." Cana said as the other girls sighed or shook their heads. She put another token in the machine and pulled the lever again. This time she won 1,000 jewel.
"Ha! See? I told you I'd win something." Cana said excitedly, pointing at the slot machine screen.
"I'm gonna try and win more." Cana said as she started playing the slot machine nonstop. The other girls started to get bored of watching Cana lose over and over and went to other parts of the casino to play some of the other machines and games there. Wendy just watched the other girls since she wasn't old enough to gamble yet. Carla stayed by her side and kept her company. When the girls had enough of the casino, they headed to the hotel and went to their room. They booked the largest room the hotel had to offer and all stayed there together. Meanwhile, the Fairy Tail guys had just gotten back to the guild hall from their bowling night. They burst through the double doors. All of them were a little drunk, some more than others. Natsu looked around the guild hall for Luna before remembering that the girls were going to be gone until tomorrow morning. He sighed in a disappointed fashion.
"What's wrong Natsu?" Happy asked Natsu who sat down at one of the tables.
"I miss Luna. I wish she was back from her bachelorette party already." Natsu said, sighing again.
"She'll be back tomorrow morning." Happy said to reassure Natsu who was slightly tipsy.
"God, you're like a lovesick maiden in distress waiting for her prince to come and save her." Gray said to Natsu, following up with a hiccup. Natsu glared at him.
"I'm no maiden. I'm a dude. What are you? Blind?" Natsu said with slightly slurred speech.
"It was a metaphor. Geez you're an idiot." Gray said as Natsu got up and approached him.
"Oh yeah? Well you're a pervert!" Natsu said back as he pointed at Gray who was in his just his boxers again.
"Am not!" Gray yelled back.
"Are too!" Natsu yelled louder, shoving his forehead against Gray's before getting into a fight with him. Their fighting was clumsier because they were both a little drunk, causing more destruction than normal. One thing lead to another and the rest of the guild members that were present joined in on the fight. Eventually, everyone collapsed from drunken exhaustion all over the place. When the girls returned, they came to a huge mess in the guild hall with the guys all passed out here and there.
"What the hell happened in here?" Luna said. Natsu perked up at the sound of her voice and presence of her scent in the room.
"Luna!" Natsu said as he sat up quickly, only to be met with a pounding headache. Luna ran over to Natsu who pressed his hand firmly on his forehead.
"Natsu! Are you okay? What happened here?" Luna asked Natsu as she helped him up. He leaned on her, giving her a heavy, lazy hug.
"I'm having a bit of a hangover at the moment. But now that you're back, I think I'll be just fine. Anyways, to answer your question, we held my bachelor party at a bowling alley bar, bowled several games and got drinks. And we may have gotten a bit drunk. Then when we got back to the guild, Gray and me got into a fight and shortly after the rest of the guild joined in and at some point, we all collapsed from exhaustion." Natsu explained. Luna sighed and shook her head.
"So that's why this place is in shambles. Anyways, you better take it easy today to get through this hangover. Come on, let's go home." Luna said as she draped his arm over her shoulder.
"Natsu and I are going back home for the day. See you later guys!" Luna told the guild as she and Natsu left and started walking to their cottage with Elise and Happy following behind. They chatted with each other on the way there. Luna told him all about the bachelorette party at the Akane Beach Resort. She told him about the race, the volleyball games, and the money she won at the casino there.
"Wow, so you won a total of 1,350,000 jewel, getting the jackpot on your first try?! That's amazing!" Natsu said, impressed by Luna's lucky streak at the casino.
"Yeah, but I gave Lucy my second winning of 350,000 jewel because she needed to pay rent soon. She was really happy, practically bursting into tears. She said it would cover exactly five months of rent." Luna told Natsu who looked at her with a surprised look on his face.
"What?" Luna asked Natsu.
"You're still so nice to Lucy even after you found out I almost chose her over you as my mate. Why?" Natsu asked.
"Because regardless of that, Lucy is still one of my closest friends. I won't let that little fact get in the way of our friendship... or my relationship with you for that matter." Luna answered as Natsu's facial expression softened into a smile. He chuckled lowly.
"You really are a kind-hearted, understanding person. I'm really glad I chose you as my mate. And in about a month from now, we'll finally be getting married. I can't wait." Natsu said, leaning his head against Luna's head as they walked hand-in-hand with her to their cottage.
"Yeah me neither..." Luna said dreamily as they reached their cottage. She unlocked the door and walked Natsu inside.
