Chapter 7 - Chapter 7- Who do you think it will be?

Minglan roamed the unit, trying to locate Little Loli. She wanted to make sure Little Loli had received the meal she sent. That girl's eagerness when she mentioned she could eat constantly flashed in Minglan's mind.

"Little Su, where are you?" Minglan searched throughout. The ghosts floating in their respective spots glanced at the utility room. They had the urge to tell Minglan that Xiao Hei was really ruthless, but none had a sliver of courage to offend the Grim Repear. They stayed quiet about the matter.

The ghost that loves to hang from the ceiling swayed toward Minglan with its tilted head covered in a shade of black. "She's in the utility room, the ghost hinted.

Upon receiving his pointer, Minglan took quick strides towards the room the ghost spoke of. She turned the knob of the door, turned on the lights, and found Little Loli sobbing in the corner. The food she sent was left untouched. Her heart ached. She gave up one fourth of the usual portion she ate tonight, but it was wasted. The food has gone cold. "Is it not to your liking?" Minglan kept a distance and asked. Her hand touched the meals, but the fingers only went through, unable to grasp anything. Once she sent the meals out, their structure would break down the solid molecules and turn them into another matter like air or light, unable to touch. Thus, Minglan could only count on Xiao Hei when retrieving the utensils.

Little Loli lifted her head from her arms. Her puffy eyes were very noticeable. "I'm not in the mood", she blurted out in depression. She has never been so sad as she is now. Her grandparents would spoil her and always find ways to make her happy. She was a princess, the apple of their eyes. All she wanted was given, and even if she made mistakes or got into trouble, Grandpa and Grandma were still partial, but ever since meeting the Grim Repear, she has been subject to frightening punishments that tear down her arrogance completely. She was unable to cope and the roller coaster of emotions tired her.

Minglan patted a spot on the threshold of the room and sat down. She remained quiet and only stared at Little Loli. She really didn't know how to deal with children, much less a child ghost.

The Little Loli spotted some vague silhouettes sneaking a peek over Minglan's shoulders and frowned. Children never like others to see them in a state of embarrassment. She stretched her legs and restrained her sadness before reprimanding the busy bodies. "What are you looking at?

The ghosts like gossip the most, especially when they cannot find entertainment. The shout from Little Loli made them laugh a little. Her current appearance was really cute and non-threatening. Two small canines appeared when she gritted her teeth, reducing the effect of her anger. A small smile was also plastered on Minglan's face.

Little Loli was irritated; she was driven by her emotions and couldn't restrain herself from raising her pitch. "Don't laugh!" The lights flickered, and some things fell from the shelves nailed in the utility room. Some of the things rolled on the floor at Minglan's feet.

Minglan quickly scurried away from Little Loli, and even the ghosts that were laughing a second ago were shocked and afraid of Little Loli's sudden changes.

Uncle Warrior, hiding behind the sofa, looked at Little Loli in a new light; he never knew she held more spectral energy than them combined. No wonder she was tied by the Grim Reaper and punished severely. He also cast a curious glance at Minglan's back, wondering what had happened between the two. The Grim Repear said before that she harmed Minglan, but how come the Grim Repear spared the little ghost? He had witnessed him obliterate some spectral figures haunting Minglan before, so he knew his temperament and became more puzzled as he analyzed deeper.

Little Loli was also startled by her actions. She immediately stopped the energy leaking from her, and the disturbance stopped. There was a mess in the room in that short time span. She bowed her head, guilty of the outburst.

The man taking a shower sensed the ghostly energy. A surge of dark mist erupted under his feet, covering his entire body. He disappeared inside the bathroom and turned up behind Minglan. His presence startled the ghosts, including Little Loli. Minglan hadn't noticed his arrival and remained oblivious.

Little Loli trembled under the Grim Reaper's intense stare and slowly backed off until her form passed through the solid wall, disappearing into the next room.

"Little Su, are you okay?" Minglan watched the little ghost drop out of her sight and was more worried.

Little Loli reemerged inside Minglan's bedroom and could hear the latter's question but didn't reply. She was very afraid of the Grim Reaper. She knew she would be punished again for what she'd done, and with that ruthless guy's way of doing things, she reckoned the punishment was not to be trifled with, so she immediately hid away before he could do anything. She turned her attention from the direction of the two and wanted to observe Minglan's room; however, once she swept her yes to the bed, a low, threatening growl stiffened her, and what she saw afterwards made her run again to the utility room in panic.

Minglan saw her transparent, cute face again and was relieved. "What happened to you?" She raised her eyebrows after seeing Little Loli's eyes dart back and forth to the wall and at her.

Little Loli restrained herself from complaining. The Grim Reaper was still keeping an eye on her, and nothing good would come out if she revealed him. "It's nothing." She was conflicted inside and didn't know which way to go or what to do. No one will side with her anymore if she does something wrong. She really missed her family.

Minglan nodded and looked at the meal on the floor. It was a good thing; the dishes had become incorporeal; otherwise, she would spend more time cleaning. "If you don't have an appetite, then I'll tell Xiao Hei to retrieve the meal. Go ahead and continue to rest, but don't stay in here."

"Who said I don't have an appetite? I will eat." Little Loli sprang to her feet at Minglan's words. She cried inside, quickly gathered the meal, and took big bites. She choked in the middle but didn't stop; she continued gobbling the food until not a grain of rice was left on the bowl. She finished the vegetables she usually hates, and even the soup was drunk to the last drop. "Thank you for the meal." She had never eaten so fast in her life! Today was definitely a record. Little Loli licked the corner of her lips and retreated a bit further, only to stop after remembering the huge black dog in the next room. Her ghostly life was miserable; maybe it was karma for being so disobedient.

Minglan was overjoyed and praised her for being a good kid.

"...." Little Loli, who was praised was speechless. You're thinking too much; I'm just afraid the ruthless guy would be angry again and throw her into the void. Little Loli wanted to explain but swallowed it in the end.

Minglan had a smile and turned around, only to bump into a solid wall. She touched the wall and realized it was flesh; more specifically, it was a man's chest. The skin under her palms was very smooth and sturdy; she caressed it, enjoying the experience. A woman's skin was very different compared to it; she was fascinated and curious at the same time. Soon, she decided to go down and try the abs; the group of muscles was a little bit soft, contrary to her expectations. She thought it would be hard, like stone. However, just a second passed, and the muscles moved, stretched taut under her manipulations, and softness was gone. The new texture under her fingers aroused her interest again. She traced the lines between the abs and came down to the mermaid line her college classmates would discuss privately. She gulped and slowly inched down the crevice between the skin and the black towel. Her fingers wanted to explore and pull the opening wider, but a cold hand with veins protruding on the surface grasped her delicate wrist, stopping her in place. Her eyes trailed upward and met Xiao's heated gaze. "Oh, It's you, Xiao Hei." She smiled awkwardly, covering up her embarrassment. She blushed and the tip of her ears tinted pink. She didn't know what came to her and became so bold!

"Who do you think it will be?" His eyes were murky; the fire inside him was ignited under her teasing, and he almost couldn't restrain himself from doing something. Only the thought of her being underage kept him sober. He realized that waiting for another year was a torture.
