Iris stared up into the shrouded face of her captor.
"Your duty? You mean there's a reason you all play dress up and run around in the woods like idiots?" She said. Meanwhile, she began to focus her energy in the hopes of clearing out the last of the holy energy that was injected into her. If there was one upside here, it was that these were just regular humans that couldn't sense divine energy.
"Yes," the leader continued, "for understanding is the first step on the path of enlightenment." He reached up and began to slide his hood down despite the protests from the other members behind him.
Iris's eyebrows raised in shock as she knew that neatly cropped hair and annoying face quite well. It was Gray.
"You?! What..why..this doesn't make any sense!" Iris said as she couldn't wrap her mind around why a slayer would join a God worshiping cult of all things.
