Slayers were a fascinating breed of warrior. Since the presence of their soul inside their hijacked bodies supplied divine unholy energy to the rest of the body, they didn't go through the usual bodily functions. They never needed to use the bathroom and, for that matter, they didn't need to eat to survive.
Eating and drinking was a fully voluntary action they would take just because the food tasted good. Their metabolism was on a whole different level - any calories they consumed would be burned up within moments due to the divine energy flowing through them.
Better yet, they didn't need sleep under normal conditions. So they walked through the entire night up until the next morning.
There were limits though to their bodies however. Like when Iris used her armor, it exhausted the body to an extent where even divine energy can't keep it going without letting it rest. While not completely necessary, sleeping was a nice recharge for their new body when the moment allowed for it.
As morning came, Admin had led them to a clearing on top of a sharp cliff. There was ankle high grass all around them and they could hear the call of the ocean as it smashed against the cliff face below. It was a very serene and relaxing scenery.
Axel looked at this beautiful scenery and turned away just as fast. Jun walked right behind him and had spent the better part of the last few hours trying to figure him out. That is when he wasn't thinking about the inevitable deaths he had caused by leaving the core in Crimson City.
"Hey, Axel." Jun called out as he matched his pace.
"What?"
Whether we want it or not, we're stuck with him for the time being, Jun thought. But there seems to be quite a bit to him that we don't know. Like his connection with the Queen of the Underworld. Couldn't hurt to learn a bit more, I suppose.
"Your goal...why do you want to be the King of the Heavens so bad? Kind of clashes with the whole slayer philosophy of killing all Gods."
"Well, Jun. I'll ask you a question. Do you wake up striving for mediocrity?"
"I don't think anyone does." Jun said plainly.
"Exactly. Think about it. We, of all people, get a second chance at life and with superpowers to boot. Sure I could just slay everything in my sight and don't get me wrong, I most definitely will. But there's no point of mindless slaughter if you don't aim to benefit from it."
"I'm...not sure how I should feel about that answer."
I want it all, thought Axel. For once I get to live by my rules, by however I want to live life. And I'm going to milk it for everything it's worth.
Admin suddenly stopped near the edge of the cliff and turned to face the slayers. "Okay, here should be good." The breeze from the water blew up the side of the cliff and pushed her hair forward. "As mentioned before, I was sent from the God Core System to prepare you for whats ahead. While there are other slayers around the world this group will be vital for the fights to come. With a God now dead, they will be coming at some point to rectify that. And I have an idea who will be the first to take a new interest in this world."
"Who?" Jayden asked."
"Conquest's brother. The God of War."
"They have siblings up there?" Iris asked. "Didn't know you could be born a divine being."
"Not exactly." said Admin. "There have been several beings with the name 'God of War'. They are hand picked by the King of Heavens himself. They are not blood brothers, but they were the same age when they arrived in the Heavens and became very close. But make no mistake. This will be nothing like with Conquest."
"Is he strong?" Axel asked.
"Unbelievably so." Admin confirmed. "He lives for his power and takes any chance to have more. Out of all the Gods, he is the most adept fighter."
"Good. I don't want anymore freebies." Axel stated with a hint of seriousness in his voice.
"I don't know when he'll come," continued Admin, "but we are ill prepared for when he does. If you hadn't been blessed, Axel, perhaps this would've been a more winnable fight after your boost from Conquest. But right now we don't stand a chance against even his underlings."
"So what do we do, Admin?" asked Jun.
"Well first we have to find this creature so Admin can use its energy. It's the only way home after all." Iris added. She looked over the side of the cliff at the water below. "Is it down there or something?"
Admin looked around the area. "Hmm. Yes this space should do."
"For what?" Iris asked.
Admin crossed her arms and then threw them outwards. As she did so, two red circles of energy appeared around her arm. Numbers and symbols began to form within the energy that resembled code. "Begin digistruct."
The energy shot out from the circles and began to build shapes and structures all around them.
"Whoaaaaaa." Axel and Jayden both awed at the same time.
"This is...pretty cool." said Iris as she watched the energy whiz around them and building things at a blinding speed.
Once it was done, they all looked around them. They were encapsulated within a giant dome that covered most of the plains they had been standing in previously. Mind you the floor was still grass, but they could no longer hear the rushing water. There was training equipment everywhere as well as contraptions they had never set eyes on before. In the middle of it all was a platform that looked like a stage of sorts. At the top of the dome was a large ball of energy.
Admin lowered her arms. "As part of the God Core System, I can create things from just data. Using my connection to the God Core System, I can bring those things to reality. Temporarily."
Axel walked around looking at all the new shiny toys he was going to be able to play with. "This is seriously so cool, Addy."
"What did you just call me?" Admin asked.
"Addy. Nickname. Better than your real name." Axel said as he became bored with the short exchange.
"...Anyways. This is a carved out pocket dimension...of sorts. We're still locked to this dimension, but we are within a small piece of dimension I created within this dimension."
"But why?" Jayden asked.
"Because we're undetectable within this space. And if you look above us," she said pointing towards the ball of energy, "you'll see an energy source that is floating above us. This planet is rich with residual divine energy. Since divine energy can traverse dimensions, as you all have, I can gather it from that planet into this power source before us. It will over time filter out throughout this dome and give you all a bit of a boost to get through what is next."
"Wait, are we not going to use that creature's energy to take us home?" Jun asked.
"That's exactly what we're doing. The creature in question is an ancient one that has long defied the Gods. Except for one that is. It has taken refuge on this planet and nested deep. Unfortunately, you'll need to defeat this creature in order for me to use its energy. It has long survived the death hunt of the Gods and has become very volatile with age." Admin pointed her hand towards all the constructed equipment behind her as if presenting a prize on a game show.
"With that said, for the next several days we'll be spending them all in here to ensure all of you are up to the task of defeating it. We won't leave until each of you have unlocked your cursed weapon's secondary ability. Either you win and go home, or lose and this planet becomes your tomb."
