The Family Estate of the House of Etoile made that of the Four Great Families look massive in comparison. It was so small Damian was able to take in the entirety of it from inside the Starship.

Apparently, this wasn't the Family Estate of the House of Etoile, but the Family Estate of the Dual Star Branch. And it sat on both halves of Planet Etoile. As for why it was like this, it was a complex matter that involved the whole House.
But in summary, the House of Etoile, although posed as one Family, were never united to begin with. The White Star Branch stood on one side, while the Black Star Branch made the other their playground.
